Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

Pahaha it was the patio doors at night. They separate the lounge from the conservatory so as they're internal they don't have any curtains. Time to change that maybe 😂😂 I appreciate the motivation Roman

Yum the 5 minute journal? You can buy it on Amazon. Take 5 minutes every day to fill out the pages. Go take a look. Looks like a great way to stay focused and motivated to me 🤩

Purple I wish I could dance. I seem to be missing that ability though 😂😂 hopefully you get out for your run tomorrow. It's been miserable here down South. Fingers crossed it's a beautiful sunny day 😂😂 or at least dry 😂😂

Went to see the physio yesterday. She was pleased with progress of knee. Ultimately, she discharged me unless I have pain in he next few weeks or so. I will have to keep them going for another 12 weeks but after theirs just a case of maintenance - so doing them every few days or so. Plus I got some extra exercises with resistance bands which will really strengthen them up! Woop!

Purpleraindeer · 01/12/2018 13:49

That’s great about your knee plink! Let’s hope you’re pain free from now on

I was very brave today as I went out for a run despite the miserable rain and howling gale. This is normal for most runners but I really hate the rain so rarely go out in it. It was freezing. I did feel I needed to get outside though. Do any of you feel like that at this time of year? I feel like I spend most of my time inside with artificial lights and I yearn for outside time.

yumyumpoppycat · 02/12/2018 20:29

Purple well done on all the workouts especially running in the rain - that must burn off more calories running in bad conditions! I know what you mean about wanting to get out esp as it isn't that cold, in the evenings though I find it hard to be motivated to do anything as it feels wrong exercising when it's dark - even indoors (this may just be an excuse my brain has come up with!).

Plink I will have a look at the journal sounds interesting. Fantastic about your knees.

I haven't done any exercise but have done lots of going up and down flights of stairs carrying christmas decorations which I feel counts as at least one workout...

Hope you are well roman and reastie.

PlinkPlink · 02/12/2018 21:19

Thanks purple and yum , here's hoping!!

Well done on your run purple When I was playing rugby the best weather for it was an overcast, mizzly day. Perfect for ruggers! Gales and rain not so much. My first ever match it absolutely pissed down 😖😖 too busy with adrenaline though to care and I got a lovely boot rake on my leg... purple and blue for ages 🤣🤣 I feel like I go a bit stir crazy after a while. I tend to hibernate this time of year. Don't go out much. But after a few days I'm itching to be free, bad weather or not 😂😂😂😂

yum you'll get back on it. You're still posting on here which means it's there in the back of your mind. I find when I take a big break, I'm mentally gearing myself up to returning to it. Stairs defo count 😂😂 do some squats on the way up too 😂😂😂

I want to work on why I stop-start things. I'm not sure why I do it. Maybe I have a subconscious fear of failure? Maybe I don't feel like I'm getting the results I should be? Maybe I should lower my expectations? I don't know but I really want to work on it before the new year. I dont believe in New Years resolutions - rules were meant to be broken and I'm rebellious by nature 😂 but I do want to sort my brain, my priorities and shift my thinking so I don't stop-start in 2019.

What are you guys hoping to achieve fitness and health wise in 2019? It'd be interesting to hear what directions you're all hoping to head into.

Purpleraindeer · 03/12/2018 07:57

Hi all
I’m sore today. Ow. I did a 12mile run yesterday - was super slow as my legs were tired. I think it was because I had exercised 4 days in a row which I don’t normally do. Rest today thank goodness

Rugby plink?! Wow. I quite like the concept (and sent my kids to touch rugby this weekend as I said it was good for them to run around and get muddy) but the idea of tackling and someone bashing into me and hurting me scares me!!

I do a lot of getting really into things, doing it obsessively then stopping so I’m the same. I think it is just my nature. I want a challenge and once I’ve done it I’m bored and move on. Dh finds it hilarious. (Except for the holiday where I decided I’d solve the Rubin cube and did it obsessively for 6hrs!) Exercise is the only thing I have ever stuck at for a long time. I think it is part vanity as I like how I look when I’m fit and partly that I can vary the challenge?

I’m 90pc sure I’m going to run an ultra marathon next year so I’ll be aiming towards that Shock

plink great news about the knee Smile, must be a relief for you! In terms of my goals for 2019, haven't really thought about it other than to try and reach my target weight of 11.5 stone by the end of March (which would be 12 months after I started this diet). Fitness-wise, not really sure as I am quite happy with my activity level at the moment. Will have a think...

Yum yes, Christmas decorating definitely does count Wink We were supposed to exercise on Saturday after sorting out our decorations but we were knackered and aching so gave it a miss - it is clearly harder work than you think!

Purple yes, I do get what you mean about getting outside. DH is obsessed with getting 'fresh air' and I do resist as I am naturally lazy and prefer to slob around in my comfy clothes but absolutely love it and feel better once I am out. I just need a push to get out there Grin

Did a 40-min CDF workout last night which was good. Planning on doing the Strength workout from Clean Week tonight as I need a weights only workout as I am going to Clubbercise afterwards and this one looked good. I miss Liift though Sad although I know it is probably a good idea to have a break for a few weeks.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 03/12/2018 18:15

How is it going at clubbercise Roman? You are right decorating the tree was surprisingly tiring Grin

Plink thanks, you're right, I think posting on here is keeping exercise on my radar of things I should be doing - even if sometimes its only one workout a week, which leads to my aim for next year - purely to be more consistent, so 4 workouts a week unless on holiday (which seems to usually involve swimming or walking anyway), and figure out a sensible diet and stick to it. I would also like to lose weight so my waist ratio is healthy and maintain that.

yumyumpoppycat · 04/12/2018 19:45

I did one of the 20 minute workouts today - barre 1. Couldn't face bear crawls and the like, and my weights are all upstairs to tidy things up for xmas tree (this is partly why it was so tiring decorating!) - I will prob do similar short non workouts now until xmas.

yumyumpoppycat · 04/12/2018 19:46

non workouts Shock Blush I meant non weights workouts Grin

Purpleraindeer · 04/12/2018 20:59

Xmas has put a hole in my exercise too poppy! The Xmas tree takes up a lot of my exercise area so any workouts with too much kicking or general flailing about will knock it down.
So I did a sedate incinerator (p90x3 upper workout) tonight. Did hammer curls with my 8kg weights. Hardcore. Smile

I like the consistency plan poppy. 4dpw sounds doable

Theromanempire · 04/12/2018 21:03

I get relegated to the conservatory when the Christmas decs go up as there isn't room for me and DH to both be in the lounge Confused so I to listen to the instructions rather than watch...keeps it interesting Grin

Did Clean Week strength yesterday- I enjoyed it! And I did Inchworms with a full press up at the plank part...never been able to do that before!

OP posts:
Theromanempire · 05/12/2018 21:13

So I did pyramid today - surprised at how much more I could do than I used to be able to pre-Liift! Enjoyed it...but it's so cold in our conservatory, I can see my breath whilst doing it Grin

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 06/12/2018 17:43

Well done on Pyramid Roman - I think I like that one. Conservatory workout sounds hard core Grin

Purple my front room is seriously smaller now too, although incinerator doesn't sound that sedate Grin

I did a 20 min yoga workout today - was ok but I was having major bra issues as my sports bra wouldn't do up! It was wither I have grown or the bra has shrunk Xmas Hmm

I caught sight of myself reflected in the window and looked huge, it's annoying as I am being fairly sensible but its not working.

Purpleraindeer · 07/12/2018 11:23

I guess the freezing conservatory encourages you not to stop for a rest roman? Well done on the inch worms. I hate those and they always hurt my shoulders.

Poppy, I’m not sure the window reflection gives you a good sense of your size as prob the glass distorts a bit. If you’re exercising and eating well it will pay off. Have faith.

Mental week this week. Have been working into the evenings and so had to skip workouts Shock. Was so fed up last night that I did speed 2.0 at 8.45 pm just to get myself moving. I feel I’ve been sitting down inside all week - I’ve barely even seen daylight. Did a run this am just to get some fresh air. Was absolutely pouring rain, but it was quite nice splashing through the muddy puddles.

Purpleraindeer · 09/12/2018 17:11

Hope you’ve all had good weekends. 12 miles for me yesterday. Started super slow but then realised I was late getting back to pick up dd so was a bit of a sprint for the last 3miles - was unbelievably muddy too. Legs knackered today so can’t face exercise.

yumyumpoppycat · 09/12/2018 18:00

Purple thanks - you are right I just want instant results, need to play the long game.

Well done on 12 miles.

I did another workout from the 20s - black team workout - its pretty good for 20 minutes. Also had a nice long walk in sunshine. Feel like I don't have much energy for workouts at mo but at least that's a bit done.

Hope everyone well - Reastie how are you on the off chance you see this Smile

Theromanempire · 11/12/2018 15:13

yum what is the 20's? Is it a BOD workout?

Still pottering along doing a mash up of whatever workouts I feel like - trying to mix it up but I am missing Liift SOOOOO much Sad Did Core Speed from T25 on Sunday and I can tell I am so much fitter (still can't do one-armed burpees but small steps eh? Grin) and I have been trying to do some pathetic full push ups.

Does anyone else feel like they are just filling time until Christmas and then start working out properly in January? I am enjoying what I am doing but I don't feel like I am actually achieving anything or making improvements (iyswim) Anyway, 1st Jan and Round 3 of Liift...cannot wait!!

Keep getting adverts for the new Shaun T programme at the end of all the workouts on BOD - doesn't appeal at all tbh. Give me Joel anytime!!!

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 11/12/2018 16:37

Roman I am excited about the shaun workout as it will give me an opportunity to use my step. Is it just me or does shaun look tired - maybe his baby doesn't sleep well.

20s is on BBOD - it is workouts by the group of youngsters (how old am I!) that they had on their reality show. Some of the ones I have tried have been pretty random but this one seemed quite solid.

Yes I am not focused at all on fitness but I can feel some renewed focus happening in January Xmas Wink I will be happy with a couple of workouts a week at the mo.

Theromanempire · 11/12/2018 21:10

Yes, he does look tired (possibly not helped because he has got totally ripped for this and presumably has very low body fat?). It is not 'baby' but 'babies' (twins). If you are on Facebook, you need to like his page as they really are the cutest babies!! But so funny as one is really chunky and squishy and the other is the exact opposite and so skinny - they look hilarious together!!

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 12/12/2018 08:04

1 armed burpees and push ups sounds like progress to me roman! You are talking about lift like someone who has been dumped by their boyfriend. Grin I will try it in the new year!

I always feel like exercising more at this time of year. Work is busy and I am outside less so I need the endorphins. Also as my kids are still small we’re not going out Xmas boozing every night Sad. Anyway, did total synergistics on tues and cvx last night. Felt tired. Not sure what I’ll do tonight. Warrior maybe?

Theromanempire · 12/12/2018 21:43

purple what did you go for tonight?

I do feel strongly about Liift Blush it really ticked all the boxes of what I want from a workout (lots of weights and short bursts of cardio), Joel is fab and hot and it is fairly obvious how much fitter it has made me so what's not to love??

Planning on doing a double tomorrow - thinking 21df Upper Fix then 21dfx ABC to do legs and abs so I get a full body workout. Just not sure we'll have time!

Hope everyone else is ok...reastie we miss you Flowers

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 13/12/2018 21:13

I didn’t work out in the end Blush. I was knackered so sat around. I did warrior tonight to make up for it. It was almost impossible doing double skaters in my now tiny living room. I nearly took out the Xmas tree

Reastie - how are you doing? I hope you’re feeling ok

yumyumpoppycat · 14/12/2018 19:26

Hi I am afraid I havent done much exercise this week - just boring stuff like work and to do lists getting in the way rather than christmas parties sadly! Have got one tomorrow though.

Well done on warrior Grin at taking out your christmas tree that conjours up a real image of you doing some proper superman kicks or whatever they are called.

Did you get your double done Roman. Well done on all your workouts.

Reastie Flowers from me too x

yumyumpoppycat · 14/12/2018 19:26
