Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

Plink I am so sorry to hear that. If you weren't pregnant then possibly you are run down and that was causing both the tiredness and the late period. Hope you feel better soon.Hmmm, maybe have a giant glass of wine, some really strong coffee, a Mr whippy and blue cheese and then get back to trying Grin you know now that you really do want another baby too!

Purpleraindeer · 09/11/2018 06:16

Ah plink - that’s tough. It’s ok to feel fed up. I had a lot of struggles getting and then staying pregnant so I can empathise. It always seemed very unfair that early pregnancy symptoms are very similar to pre af symptoms so you get your hopes up. Flowers

On the photos - I took my before/after photos from the neck down so I avoided feeling bad about being so unphotogenic and just could marvel at my tummy getting smaller. Like poppy said (I think) all photos look better now I’m thinner in the face so I no longer fear the camera.

My dh has just revealed that he is doing intermittent fasting - he no longer eats breakfast or lunch several days a week. He says he feels loads better and he has lost loads of weight which has just suddenly become obvious. I’m v impressed and a bit Envy that it has been so easy for him. He is one of those naturally thin people though

Incinerator last night for me. Was yearning for Joel and Jericho though Sad. Have had a migraine on and off for a few days which is miserable.

Reastiepeace · 09/11/2018 09:55

Plink I’m sorry Sad . Be gentle for a little while though as you could’ve had a chemical pg given af was so late. When I had one I did feel quite out of sorts for a month or so after af whilst things settled back down again.

I’m eating for all of you atm as the only thing (other than rest and the dozen anti sickness pills I take a day) that helps is eating. All. The. Time. And doing anything makes it worse so I can’t burn up calories either. Tbh I feel so dreadful still I don’t really care how much weight I put on so long as I can get through this. I’ll just have to be back afterwards and get back to workouts as soon as I can. I’m very lonely as on my own all day every day and mil keeps inviting dd and dh over at the week end —she’s quite pleased to get rid of me— so I’m lonely at week ends too .

I have hardly any photos of me with dd when she was little as I was a size 22 and in denial and hated how I looked. I felt like it was ‘who ate Monica?’ When I saw myself. Happy for lots of photos of me size 12 though Grin . I think before I hated everything about myself and couldn’t find anything positive whereas now (I say now, what I mean is now as in 2 months ago) I was overall happy but had areas that I wanted to work on. Still didn’t always like photos of myself though!

Purple remind me how long till the half marathon?

Reastiepeace · 09/11/2018 09:56

Meant to say how miserable about the migraine purple, they are horrible.

I hate how the secret site is taking down things, I really missed when they took down BA.

Theromanempire · 09/11/2018 12:25

Plink really sorry that you aren't pregnant - our bodies are cruel sometimes aren't they and hormones have a lot to answer for! Enjoy the next bout of 'trying' Wink and I agree that at least you know how you feel about it now (reminds me of Friends when Phoebe tricked Rachel into thinking she wasn't pregnant so she realised that she was happy that she was!)

Reastie you do sound miserable Sad Does DH have to go out with DD every weekend? It is sad when you aren't up to doing anything so ultimately he is leaving you stranded at home feeling ill. Child-free time is normally great when you are functioning well - does he think he is doing you a favour by taking DD away to give you time to rest?? Are you still managing to Christmas shop?

Purple hope the migraine disappears soon - well done for still exercising through it. Incinerator?? What is that one? Sounds extremely painful Wink

Unexpected rest day yesterday due to the timing of a football match I wanted to watch so I am doing week 6 Shoulders tonight as DH isn't bothered about that one (he is out tonight) then we can do the other 2 ones together at the weekend. As it is only half an hour, I am thinking about jumping on board the Country Heat train again Confused I just want to do something fun for a little bit extra tonight and Cise seems too 'dancy' for me as I am totally crap at stuff like that. Country Heat seems more my pace and the moves are broken down and repetitive although I didn't really get it the last time I tried it Grin I'll let you know if it is any better the second time around...

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 10/11/2018 12:09

Reastie that sounds a bit crap that you’re on your own so much. If I were you I’d be tempting dd to be staying home with me to sit on the sofa with me, watch telly and eat snacks. For my dd that would be total heaven. I guess your mil thinks she’s doing you a favour by giving you peace and quiet?

Incinerator does sound scary as a workout title - it is just the upper body one from p90x3. I quite like it. I was still feeling headachy yesterday so couldn’t face working out so I didn’t. Was still feeling a bit rough today (can’t believe how long this headache has lingered!) but had made a promise to myself I’d do a long run so went out and did it. Was hard drill to start with but i just decided I’d walk if necessary and I ran 14 miles in the end. It was such a beautiful morning and I was in some lovely countryside so I felt lucky to be out there. I’m now enjoying a post run sit down. I hope you’re all ok Smile

PlinkPlink · 11/11/2018 15:22

Thanks all. Feeling a bit better about it but still got some nausea and tiredness. I think you're right Reastie it's the only thing that explains it all. Which is a horrible feeling but we can keep trying.

Yeah definitely Roman and yum, it's exactly like that. We kept swaying from yes to no about having another one. This has shown us we definitely do want a second one 😂

Reastie so sorry you feel awful still but at least eating helps. I found popcorn helps... relatively low on calories and bland. My mum swore by Jacobs crackers before she got out of bed in the morning. I tried it with DS but I still felt like I was about to re-enact The Exorcist pea soup scene 😂 that's sad about your MIL. She doesn't sound v friendly? We'll keep you company 😂

I used to hate photos. I got so overweight and didn't really acknowledge it. Turned out alot of it was due to being extremely unhappy and as soon as I changed those things, I lost weight and could make that connection. So looking at photos now is easier as it means I'm happier.

Oh Purple migraines are awful!! You poor thing. Hope you're feeling better. My mum's used to be awful. Throwing up for hours and totally disorientated. Awful.
Ahh see, descriptions like that make me want to take up running. Some of my rugby mates used to go running along the coastal paths at night or early morning. Always sounded like such a lovely way to workout 😊 well done on your run!

PlinkPlink · 11/11/2018 15:25

Forgot to ask Roman , did you do Country Heat? I avoid the dance ones. Ever since I caught my reflection in the window with Zumba and realised I looked like an OAP with a broken hip trying to dance I've stayed away from the dancing ones 😂😂

Theromanempire · 12/11/2018 14:27

plink I did do Country Heat on Friday. I actually quite enjoyed it. My moves didn't look anything like Autumn or the cast Grin but it was a fun low-impact workout to use as an alternate way of getting steps up (I cannot abide just marching on the spot!) There are loads of different ones to choose from so you would never get bored.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 13/11/2018 20:00

Roman that is a brilliant idea to do country heat to get your steps up!

I have had a funny few days - haven't exercised apart from core de force speed today, plan to see how I go with HIIT 4 again tomorrow though. The weird thing is I have been doing IF (similar to your dh Purple but eating twice a day) and have lost 6 or 7lbs in less than a week. I totally don't understand how I have been struggling so much to get on a diet since sep and suddenly could do it really easily Confused the thing is I was determined to exercise today and my appetite has been way higher - even before I exercised - it must be psychological Confused Part of me wants to stop exercising and go for it with weight loss, but another part doesn't want to lose the abs that are surely hiding under my layers of fat Wink

Hope everyone is ok.

Purpleraindeer · 13/11/2018 20:57

Well done on country heat roman. It’s important to not look in the mirror for workouts like that so the illusion that in your head you’re dancing like a young Michael Jackson (or whoever the country equivalent is) is not shattered by reality. I’m still smarting from seeing what my MMX punches looked like. Let’s just say I won’t be entering a ring anytime soon!

How interesting on IF poppy. My DH is now really into it. He just eats when he is hungry so today are nothing until dinner tonight apparently. That would never work for me as I’d have killed someone and eaten them by 4pm but I guess each to their own! Grin

Did eccentric upper on Sunday and was quite uncomfortable on Monday due to all the pull/chin ups. Rest day yesterday then isometrix (the yoga/strength one) today. My half mara is on Sunday and my knee is sore so have taken it easy. Dh says I’m just getting my excuses in early re my time! Harsh but perhaps fair!

yumyumpoppycat · 14/11/2018 10:36

Purple good luck with half marathon!

You would be surprised re IF - in some ways periods of not eating then having a really decent meal are easier than spreading the calories across meals and spending all your time thinking about food. It's very strange as I am a grazer but can still do it when I am in the zone - I genuinely don't understand.

Wanted a quick workout as needed to wash my hair before school run and wfh so it felt stupid to have 2 showers! Did hammer and chisel iso speed. Found it a struggle and felt heavy legged. My elbow is only slightly very twingey which is good.

yumyumpoppycat · 14/11/2018 10:39

Luckily we have no low mirrors in our front room but the dc do like to come in and shatter my illusions when I think I am doing some hard core MMXing Grin

Theromanempire · 16/11/2018 09:26

purple good luck with the half marathon on Sunday although I am sure it will be a breeze for you Grin I also don't need mirrors when I have DH critiquing my form but as soon as I do it to him (and, trust me, his form is horrendous on a lot of exercises) he takes great offence Hmm

yum I have tried IF and 16:8 (as you all know) - it does work but I just wasn't very good at it Hmm. But if you are happy to go without food, then I would say it is the perfect option.

I did Week 7 Legs yesterday - how can so little HIIT be so hard?? Each exercise was only 30 seconds so how hard could it be...how wrong was I? There were 9 x 30 seconds blocks of exercise with only 15 seconds rest in between each one (not the minute he usually gives after 3 exercises) so it was relentless. Could not breathe properly afterwards - always a good sign eh?

I was going to try and catch up on the HIIT workout that we missed last week tonight but not sure my body can take it so going to do another Country Heat and then T25 Stretch - gentle stuff for a Friday night.

My weight has stuck again (deja vu anyone?) but I do feel that I have shrunk as skirts are slightly less tight plus I have had to do my shoes up on yet another hole in. How can I be losing so much fat from my ankles Hmm

reastie hope you are doing ok Flowers

PlinkPlink · 16/11/2018 10:36

Hi everyone, just checking back in to see how you're all doing Smile

Oh well done Roman , it does sound like fun! 😂 I'm just glad there'll be no one else there to see me attempting Country Heat 😂😂 as they say, it's not all about the scales. The fact that you are doing up notches and your clothes are looser says so much. Do you do the body measurements? I'm sure your body is growing lots more muscle 😄

Yum Oh well done on your IF and loss! I think it's normal to eat more on days you exercise. I try and limit it but my post workout snack is a must. I always try to get protein in after a workout. Glad to hear the elbow seems to be easing!

Purple 😂😂 I'm the same with any boxing type moves. T25 has a few. In my head I am sooo kicking ass... then I catch my reflection and realise what a tit I look like 😂😂😂 good luck for Sunday!! Eek! Exciting!

Thinking of you Reastie , hope all is reasonably well in the miserable world of nausea 😖

Purpleraindeer · 16/11/2018 17:03

Hi all
Well done on the ankle weight loss roman! GrinI have the opposite concern. My shoes feel a bit tight. Could I be putting on weight on my feet?! Shock that hiit workout sounds great. Short and sharp is the best.

Slow exercise week here. Did p90x3 yoga on weds and was actually quite sore the next day. All the sitting at work is terrible for my back so it was protesting at all the unexpected twisting - in a good way I guess. Did incinerator (the upper body one) today.

Hope you all have good weekends

Purpleraindeer · 18/11/2018 17:47

Hello all!
I survived the half mara. 2.04. Probably the best I could have expected given that I started at the absolute back and ended up having to stop for a wee after 2miles. I got faster through the race - I’ve definitely got something to learn with my pacing. But given that it was my first half in 13 years I think that is unsurprising. There was an amazing woman who was running pushing her 1yo twins in a pushchair Shock
I’m expecting sore legs tomorrow. But I enjoyed it so much that I’m already eyeing up some other events for the new year.

Hope you’ve all had good weekends Smile

yumyumpoppycat · 18/11/2018 20:56

Purple well done on the half mara Star wow to the lady pushing twins - that is amazing!

Theromanempire · 19/11/2018 12:32

purple well done on the half marathon Star and Shock to the lady pushing twins for the race! I am not sure I could push twins for that distance walking, let alone running!

Hope everyone's weekend was good. Finished week 7 here so onto week 8 today. I asked DH what we were going to do after this week as this is the second time round for Liift4...he wants to do it again! Do you think it would be ok to do it 3 times in a row or should we try and do something else? I absolutely love it so am happy to do it again but not sure if it would be more beneficial to switch to other workouts for a while?

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 19/11/2018 16:02

Roman I am sad to have fallen so far behind you and very impressed that you are contemplating round 3. I think because you can increase weight/pushup reps etc there is no reason not to keep going, especially as you could in theory add in a run/yoga whatever on one or two of your rest days. Fab work to have done almost 2 rounds Grin

Plink thanks - I think that is a good reminder re protein - everything seems to come undone when I rely too much on carbs. My IF triumph was short lived but still confident a couple of strict days will get the scales moving down some more. I might go back to the 21 day fix app and try and ensure I tick off the green veg and protein boxes combining it with some IF.

PlinkPlink · 19/11/2018 16:22

purple yay!! Well done!! What a super result! You must feel so chuffed!! Kudos to the pram lady too 😂😂 eyeing up new ones already, you're mad 😂😂 you've clearly got the running bug 😄

Roman round 3 sounds awesome! Well done you! I reckon if you're really enjoying it that much and you're still sweating buckets with it, you should keep going. It's only if your body is growing accustomed to it that you should switch it up...and if you're not sweating, you're body is used to it. Keep an eye on your stats too. If they don't budge like you're hoping they will, then maybe add a few different ones in 😄

Yum I'm sorely tempted to do 21 day fix stuff again. I have all the pots. It was so easy but I found it hard with our family meals to account for it properly. Breakfast and lunch was okay though. I didn't know what on earth to tick off for my spaghetti Bolognese. It's all veg and meat, little bit Of puree but no shop night sauces or anything. Oh and I was going to try and get some vegetable pasta too. I find normal pasta even GF pasta bloats me out something chronic.
Im going to sign up again with my new email address 😂😂 might give the whole 21 day fix stuff a go actually. I did it previously but too soon after DS. Just carried on with the boxes for losing weight and it worked 😊 we could be 21 day fix buddies 😂😂

I still havent worked out yet. Taking a big break apparently whilst my body recovers from whatever the hell is going on. I suspect it may be extreme tiredness, coupled with my body mimicking pregnancy... I'm sure I heard it can do that. I didnt realise I wanted one so much. We are definitely trying for baby no.2 though which has been great fun 😂😂

Theromanempire · 19/11/2018 21:40

I forgot to say that I wore a skirt today that I bought 2 or 3 winters ago and it was too tight to wear but I loved it so much that I kept it and was determined to fit in it - I have failed every winter since but not this year Smile It fit comfortably and (hopefully) looked good aswell!

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 19/11/2018 23:32

Ah brilliant Roman what a fantastic NSV Star

Plink Grin I could say something cringey about baby making being good exercise ...

Re pots I know exactly what you mean it is pretty unclear what goes in which sometimes, I think if I do it I will be approx calorie counting in my head alongside roughly using pots through the app as a guide to what I should eat (which will probably mean I fail on both counts!) it's the fix app I really like.

Purpleraindeer · 20/11/2018 20:16

Great nsv roman. Didn’t you have a winter skirt challenge last year? Do you have a wardrobe of skirts to use as motivation? Grin I agree with whoever said go for it re repeating liift. It’s obv working for you and if you can inc weights each time then go for it. I have lost count of the number of times I’ve repeated max 30 and p90x3.

Plink - glad you’ve taken a positive from the last few weeks.

Wasn’t too sore after half mara which surprised me. Did warrior today which I really love. Went on scales. I was a bit horrified. I’m now 3.5 kg heavier than I was a year ago. I have no idea why really as I don’t think it’s my eating. Maybe it’s my age (I’m mid 40s Shock).....

Reastie · 21/11/2018 09:14

Thermo fantastic nsv, enjoy wearing the skirt :)

Purple super good half marathon time. If you’re at the back of a race start line do they start your time when the first people start or do you have chips on you to give you a more accurate time for when you start? Can’t believe the lady with the 1yo twins, not jut that she did it but that she got them to stay in there for the whole race without them moaning to get out etc. Dd would never have stayed in there that long and I would’ve spent every few minutes having to stop and see what she wanted as she’d be whinging after a while. Is weight due to more muscle?

Still struggling here so no exercise or indeed leaving the house for weeks. Hoping to book a private scan as convincing myself I have had mmc. Medication touch wood making a difference but if if I try to do anything it gets worse. Looking forward to being able to eat healthily again. I’m winning atm if I manage one fruit or vegetable a day.
