Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

OP posts:
PlinkPlink · 21/09/2018 16:02

Agreed 1500 sounds low in regards to Insanity and calories.

When I was doing it every day, I really had to up my calories for energy levels. I was eating 2000 a day. Got sick of eating haha... so much food!!! 😂😂

Purpleraindeer · 21/09/2018 17:56

I did t25 then max30 when I was losing baby weight. I was on 1200 cals on rest days and 1500 cals on workout days. I am 155cm tall though so shouldn’t really need to each much! I lost 12kg. So, stick with it. Max30 is my all time fave - I love it.

I’ve been doing 22hc doubles - one cardio and one weights. Ends up being about 40mins as you can skip the 2nd warm up and 1st cool down.

10miles this am. Was lovely and meditative.

PlinkPlink · 21/09/2018 18:30

That's brilliant!! My body was in no way ready to do any of those for the first few months haha.

I did a bit of 21 day fix but it just wasn't possible... My little one was very clingy and couldn't cope with me being away for 15 mins. Cue him screaming for me even when he was with his Daddy... couldn't concentrate and lost my buzz then Confused

But I still managed to lose it all bar the last 5 lbs... just sensible eating (21 day fix pots) and BFing. Had to do T25 for he last 3 or 4lbs but that was it.

Oooh Max 30... I reckon that'll be my next one after Liift4.

Do you run aswell Purple?! Shock you must burn through calories like mad!!!! Grin

Purpleraindeer · 22/09/2018 18:27

Hello all!
Did 22hc double - resistance 2 then cardio 2. I hate gorilla crawls. At least I didn’t have to do the awful stand up lie down move.
Plink - before dc I used to run a lot but I stopped enjoying it as I got too stressy about PBs (I’m not fast, just get a bit competitive!). I’ve started again and I now do 1 long slow run per week and I’m really enjoying it. Well done you losing weight from bf. It just made me want to sit around and eat cake. I think I might actually have gained weight from it! Shock
Hope you all had a good day.

yumyumpoppycat · 22/09/2018 18:49

Ooh bear crawls … ouch. Well done Purple.

Plink sounds like you have done amazing losing the baby weight. I am failing at exercise and diet at the mo, so I def need some accountability. Just always starting tomorrow... Last year Roman and I were trying to do a certain amount of workouts by Christmas and Roman managed it but I didn't quite, I did do my first ever Christmas eve workout though! Maybe I will try and do 52 workouts by Christmas. There are 93 days to go so that should be doable..Hmm

Have a great hol Porridge, and a nice weekend everyone else.

Reastie · 24/09/2018 06:58

I actually put on 2 stone when bfing Blush as it melts giving me that horrible nauseous shaky hunger feeling if I didn’t eat, so plink I think you’re doing amazingly.

Purple urgh I hate gorilla crawls too. They look like they shouldn’t be as hard as they are (but like stand up lie down).

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think they’re on to us with the secret site. I went on this morning to look for a different legs workout to try and 3 of the B.B. programmes had been taken down when I clicked on the video (including piyo which isn’t exactly a new or vip package release) and that was only from the half dozen I clicked on so there couod be more that have gone . Use it whilst you can!

Did a run on Saturday and was so excited as did a (just) sub 30 minute 5 k which is back to my old pace of a year or so ago before the dodgy knees. Knees were playing up a bit yesterday but really fancied some old skool insanity so did pure cardio. I love that workout! It’s the best feeling ever at the end when you’re lying on the floor so exhausted to stand up. I’m weird aren’t i...Thinking of doing piyo lower/let’s today and if I have time might sneak in a short abs workout too.

yumyumpoppycat · 24/09/2018 17:57

Well done on your run time Reastie - fantastic {hifive}. For some reason I can't start a new line - there should be one here! I did primal from the 20s today on BBOD. It was a very strange workout with lots of windmilling arms around and not very hard - so I quite liked it Blush. Hope all well. 1/52

Purpleraindeer · 24/09/2018 21:22

Well done on the run reastie. Sounds like your form is coming back. Well done on pure cardio - that is my fit test. If I can get through it with no breaks I am fit. I was a bit Shock at your news on the secret site. Joel and Jericho and 22hc are still there. Max30 seems to have gone tho. I did the half and half harder (but not the yoga bit Blush) and then core 1 from 22hc tonight.

I remember the pre Xmas challenge you and roman did poppy. Didn’t we all do a Xmas eve workout too? I remember I couldn’t find my mat and did it on the floor so ended up with suspect carpet burns all over my arms for Xmas day. We should do that again this year (without the carpet burns bit obviously!)

PlinkPlink · 25/09/2018 10:23

Thank you all Smile

Purple - maybe that explains my constant craving for cake? Ha. In the first 6 weeks, I ate loads of crap. I just ate whatever I could get my hands on/OH brought me. After the hundredth time of having a ham and mustard sandwich (went off ham during pg) I decided to try and get some decent nutrients in my body. Felt guilty about giving DS ham flavoured milk 😂

Yumyum - I'm the same. I said I was going to start T25 in my last post. It didn't happen Sad instead I cleaned the bathroom and did the laundry and dishes. Queen of procrastination right here. It will happen. I'm not good at getting things done when I plan them but I am good at eventually getting them done Grin

Reastie - there's another site I know of called Bodyrock. They're free workouts and they're pretty good HIIT workouts. So if that one starts taking stuff down, try Bodyrock. Well done on your run! That's amazing! Wish I could run (sounds like a stupid statement). Pure cardio is a beast... probably the hardest for me as I hate cardio haha. Feels bloody amazing when it's complete though. DIG DEEPER! Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 25/09/2018 12:07

Plink Grin you made me lol with ham favoured milk! I did housework over exercise on sunday and it was really needed as we were having guests. I must be the dowager queen of procrastination I literally leave everything to the last minute.

Purple YES!! I remember now, that was fun all of us doing a Christmas eve workout.

25 min cardio shift shop done today - lots of skipping, HIIT workout I think. I couldn't finish bear crawls, burpees or mountain climbers. Instructor was quite good though, I liked him.
2/52

Theromanempire · 25/09/2018 13:00

Reastie well done on the run, impressive time for a 5k. My fastest one was still over 30 minutes Grin running is so not my thing!!

yum I'm always up for a workout challenge. 52 workouts between now and Christmas should easily be doable - it's 4 a week right? Perfect for Liift! I did a few of the Shift Shop ones a while back and quite enjoyed them but I think I avoided the cardio ones as they looked too hard Blush The abs workout is really good to add on to other workouts (think it is about 15-20 minutes long).

Have you seen the new Shaun T workout that is coming soon (in the New Year I think) - it involves 20 minute workouts, a step and just body weight exercises! The test group is just starting (Tania from T25 is doing it so worth following her on Facebook for sneak peeks etc). Don't think it will be for me though as I love weights!!

So, started the last week of Liift 4 yesterday Sad I really don't want it to end as it is honestly the first full programme that we have done where it has never once felt like a chore. We have actually wanted to do the workouts even if we were knackered and couldn't be arsed. Think I am going to cry on Saturday when we do the last one!! He gets all the cast together for the final one aswell which is a nice touch. I think we might just restart it as you can keep progressing with it so that will time in nicely with all of you who are starting it next week Smile Might invest in some heavier dumbbells so that we can shift it up on some of the exercises.

Loved the Christmas Eve workouts we did although I am sure mine was a walk as I didn't have time to do one between visitors etc but we always go for a long walk on Christmas Eve.

So my friend who is a BA instructor has sent me a message saying that it is national free fitness day (or something) tomorrow so there is a free BA class at the gym I used to go to. On one hand I am tempted as I love BA so much but, on the other hand, I don't really want to venture back into the gym as I am so much unfitter and fatter than I used to be and will see so many people from when I was a member Blush I used to be a 'front row' kind of person and now I am a definite 'back row/shadows' kind of person Confused

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 27/09/2018 15:11

Roman did you go to the class - sounds like your friend would love to see you back there. I bet if you were to get exactly the same people who attended when you went before you would still be one of the fit ones.

LIIFT sounds amazing - BB seem to do updates of the popular programmes so fingers crossed - but really please you will be starting again.

Yesterday - strength Swap shop, today 21 day fix cardio (liked this time went fast and was quite hard!)

My diet has gone terrible - got a shock on the scale this morning - think recent exercise was making me feel thinner than I am!
4/52

Purpleraindeer · 27/09/2018 21:52

I hope you did go to your class roman. I bet you’d have been surprised at how fit you felt. Home workouts are amazing. We don’t always realise how fit we are.

Did 8x8 on tues then back too late from work on weds for a workout Sad. Tried to make up for it today with max out cardio. Now realise I’ve made a terrible mistake as it’s long run day tomorrow and I’m feeling really quite sore after max cardio. Oh dear.

NameChange0000 · 28/09/2018 18:43

Hi all.

I am seriously thinking about doing the T25 (start Monday) workout before I go on holiday at the end of October!

Has anybody got Beachbody on Demand? Considering a 3 month membership for £39 and chromecasting it on TV so I can do it that way!

If anybody has done T25, how did you find it/what is your experience? I want to tone up and feel fitter. I've lost the weight (4 stone), now want to tone!

yumyumpoppycat · 28/09/2018 19:11

Welcome Namechange! I really like T25, I also like BBOD so far - I use it on my firestick and it's better than dvds to be honest as fewer adverts and quicker to get started. Another advantage is that there are other workouts if you don't get on with it for the full 3 months. I am not sure if T25 is the best for visible results but lots of us on here started with it and shaun T is a good motivator.

Hope you were ok and not too sore for run Purple?

Rest day for me

Purpleraindeer · 29/09/2018 07:06

Hi namechange!
Well done on the weight loss. T25 will definitely get you fit. Weights are better if you want to change your shape though. Something like 21 day fix might be better for that. Having said that t25 was the first workout I did.

I managed my long run yesterday (11.5 miles - not sure where the last 0.5 mile went as I was sure it was a 12mile route!). My legs felt tired though. I’ve started taking water and a protein bar with me and it made a big difference to how the last few miles felt.

Not out of bed yet but I suspect I may need a rest day today!

Reastie · 30/09/2018 10:23

Hi namechange, T25 does have good timing things but it’s very mixed with cardio so if you want to really go for toning I’d recommend something like p90x of bodypump (there’s a bb set on pump, it’s possiboe to do with free weights rather than a barbell). Well done on the weight loss but I’m with you on the needing toning. I’ve also lost quite a lot of weight and no matter how much toning I do there’s always lose skin :(

Purple well done on the long run even if the last half mile went missing!

Another trying hard against everything week. Did an early run on Thursday before a coffee morning so I couod fit in a workout. Had a horrible week with lots of super busy things at work and home and think I’m coming down with dhs nasty cold so feeling very sorry for myself. Had to work yesterday morning so missed my normal Saturday run but did bodybalance instead and this morning felt rubbish and shaky weird but did body attack but after half way through shakiness got worse so had to give up...I tried at least and did a half hour workout from it. Wanting to do a run in the morning but wondering if, as it’s my day off, I should have a quiet relaxing day so if nothing to get myself back on form.

Purpleraindeer · 30/09/2018 17:14

Reastie - sounds like you’re coming down with something. I hope you awarded yourself a day off. It is annoying being ill.

Rest day yesterday then was our last night. Not actually hungover this am but a bit tired so I did the ‘half and half’ workout incl the yoga. Was pleased I had done the yoga bit as I felt quite stiff and I’m sure it did me good.

Hope you’re all ok

yumyumpoppycat · 30/09/2018 17:26

What is the half and half workout Purple?

Def take a rest and head off that cold before it gets worse Reastie Flowers

I did 21 day fix upper body - oof that is not easy - what are they on calling it beginner! I also watched autumn's video about the food containers and quite excited by the thought of the app. It looks like potentially quite a non obsessive way to monitor food portions compared to logging on MFP?

My ds and dm were taking dc out so dp and I had a night in London and went to see Bat out of Hell - it was ok but the crowd were whooping and giving standing ovations etc Confused Had a mahoosive delicious hotel breakfast this morning but then nothing until post workout so feeling a bit more virtuous now!

Hope all had a good weekend

sawbucks · 30/09/2018 17:29

Ohhhh can I join?!

I've been doing Beachbody on demand for the past year. I did T25 Alpha, PiYo-T25 hybrid, and am currently on week 7 of LIIFT 4 🙈

I've seen about a 10lb weight loss (I want to lose 7-10 more but my body is resisting). I haven't done before and after for LIIFT 4 but I will definitely be repeating a minimum of 3 times as I LOVE this program. I've also been trying to do Yoga Retreat on my rest days.

yumyumpoppycat · 30/09/2018 17:52

Welcome sawbucks!! I am getting VERY excited about LIIFT.

Popping back on to say I downloaded 21 day fix app and really like the look of it for logging food if anyone else has the containers. You put in your weight and it tells you how many containers you need. I just guessed and apparently I went over on carbs, its obviously not as precise as MFP and weighing but that might be a good thing for me, esp as you can put it on to maintenance mode. Only potential flaw is nothing for recording sweets or deserts. There is space to record body measurement statistics which looks better than one on MFP potentially. If it had the exercises for each day listed and space to record number of pushups etc done it would be perfect.

Theromanempire · 30/09/2018 21:41

Namechange welcome to the thread and well done on the weight loss (I am 2 stone into a 4 stone weight loss so I know how hard it must have been!) I think most of us started on T25 but I have realised it isn't really for me. The first phase is all bodyweight/cardio stuff (so no weights) and I found it very frenetic - no breaks at all in the 25 minutes and it never felt like I could get to grips with one move before he moved onto another. However, there are a couple of them that we do use occasionally (the Speed ones are great for a proper cardio workout and Pyramid is more sedate). I much prefer the ones that use weights so 21 day fix is great, 80 day obsession is good if you have the time to do hour-long workouts and Liift4 is absolutely amazing and I would really recommend that for toning.

saw welcome to you too. I am also a Liift convert - best programme ever Grin And, to be totally shallow, the last workout in week 8, Joel takes his shirt off so something to look forward to Wink

yum 21df Upper Body is one of my favourites but have to say that I don't find it too hard Blush but I suspect that is because I have done it that much, I am totally used to it. However the 2 x 1 minute planks are always a killer Wink

Hi to everyone else Smile

So, I am now done with the first round of Liift4 Sad - totally loved it and although my weight is only decreasing very slowly, my clothes are fitting much better and it is getting to the point where I can wear tight tops over jeans as I am not trying to disguise my stomach constantly (don't get me wrong, it still sticks out a bit but not that much). I went out last week with some friends and wore a pair of skinny jeans and a tight t-shirt and felt really great Smile I also have some rings which keep falling off my fingers!! I love NSV's like that. only halfway through my fat loss journey though Confused

So round 2 starts tomorrow with you all - cannot wait for you all to experience the fabulousness that is Liift4.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 01/10/2018 07:45

Welcome saw!
Roman - what a great update! I’m so pleased for you. I bet you feel absolutely fab and so liberated. Think of all the clothes choices available to you now! Sounds like you might need to get those rings adjusted to prevent disaster. I remember when I lost weight I had to keep getting links taken out of my watch strap. I never thought you could lose weight on your wrists.

I need to get a grip on myself. I’m wearing a dress which has always been quite slim cut, but today it feels tight and I know it is not bloating etc - I have definitely got a bigger tummy than I used to. I think I need to take a bit of action, waaaahhh Sad

PlinkPlink · 01/10/2018 17:53

Hi namechange and saw! waves

T25 is great for shedding pounds but I found I didn't get any shape or definition really.

I agree with Reastie... If you want shape, weights are better. Maybe try Liift4?

Yumyum - I've done both the portion boxes and MFP. MyFitnessPal just isn't sustainable for my type of personality. Even with the scanning option 😂😂 but the tubs were bloody great! No measuring out, no fuss... ideal. I hate counting calories.

yumyumpoppycat · 01/10/2018 19:31

Plink I have done my first day roughly using them - I think I have gone over on everything except vegetables Hmm

Roman that is so amazing on your NSVs Star also I think the fact you find upper fix not so hard is just proof of how fit you are Grin my arms are aching!

Purple re tight dress - it is crazy given that you run miles and exercise consistently. Well done for taking action so soon - I have just made my way through bigger clothes in my wardrobe and actually bought a size 16 dress for work yesterday. It's a bit crap given I was a 10/12 not so long ago.

So Liift budies - anyone started/ restarted? I did day 4 as I am achey from yesterday's weights.
