Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

reastie I think I am gaining/toning physically but it's difficult to see when there is still multiple a layer of fat over everything Wink it's difficult to gauge really isn't it?

yum if you find any good yoga workouts on BBOD, let me know. I really want to enjoy yoga but can never seem to get into it.

So, I have lost 2lbs this week so it looks like the calorie drop may be working. New low weight today which is always a great feeling. Plus, I tried on a dress today that I bought 11 years ago for a special occasion...and it fits perfectly Smile it's very summery which is annoying as the sun has disappeared but I'm going to wear it as often as I can for work for as long as I can get away not needing tights GrinGrin

Woo hoo - yay roman. I need to follow your lead. Good to hear lift is working. Hiit is amazingly effective for fitness - I always wonder how it is possible given the workouts are so quick.

Have you done your inaugural bbod poppy?

I did Joel 8x8 (weights workout) followed by a 10min core workout from 22hc. The core one was surprisingly hard and my tummy felt tired for a few hours afterwards. That must be good right?

yumyumpoppycat · 09/09/2018 20:14

Fantastic SV and NSV Roman (hi five!) I will let you know on yoga, there seems to be a few options.

Purple yes I am pleased to say I have Grin I decided to do the first clean week workout core function. It seems to be aimed at beginners and was ideal for me. it was a new instructor Megan, who seems likeable but maybe not as charismatic as some of the old timers. It was reversed so that the modifier was actually the person doing the harder option and everyone else was doing things on knees etc. it was all moves from other BB programs but there were no killer moves. I was able to do the workout all the way to the end and then do the harder banana split so ended on a good note! I also liked that they worked the opposite side to the one we were being instructed to do as it made it easier for me to follow.

Well done on your double Purple - I know the core one was 10 minutes but I hardly ever do the add on 10 minute core workouts so I would count that as double effort! I actively hate them usually, but I think I have done the 22HC one and it was hard but better than other core workouts.

Am pleased with BBOD, think it will easily keep me busy for the year - fingers crossed that will stop me needing a 2 month break Blush

Reastie · 09/09/2018 20:53

I like the idea of modifier doing harder stuff, would make me feel more confident and like I was vaguely fit!

BA 45 today which was fun but my knees are playing up a bit.

Purple I find the core work on 22hc really hard so well done for that. I need to sort my core out as it’s my tummy that’s my big problem area.

Theromanempire · 10/09/2018 11:09

Yum I have done the clean week workouts a couple of times and quite enjoyed them. They are a much calmer pace than the usual BB workout but it makes a pleasant change sometimes.

I have just done a Liift workout (it was just weights for chest and triceps and was really hard) followed a yoga stretch workout from the 3 week yoga retreat programme. I quite enjoyed the yoga but I feel that you need to do it regularly and I just don't have the time to do it without stopping my other workouts Hmm Can't win with that I don't think!!

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 10/09/2018 16:39

Roman well done on double! I think there is a gap for non sweaty 15 minute PJ yoga that could be done first thing or just before bed.

Hope BA went ok with knees Reastie.

Clean week cardio - pretty decent workout. I liked that there was a more 'average' weight cast esp as dd (7) was going in, but she just asked why are the people in the front (trainer) always skinny!

Porridgeprincess · 12/09/2018 16:38

OMG, Can I join in? I really enjoyed reading this thread as I am a beachbody lover!

Currently I am doing a mix of Shaun Week with some Little Obsessed. I cannot commit to the longer workouts of 80day right now. i am looking forward to Lift4 so much !!

I have done lots of these workouts before they went online. I adored Chalene Extreme. Also Insanity knocked me into serious shape and made me gain 5lbs but I knew it would happen with all that jumping !!

Porridgeprincess · 12/09/2018 16:45

There is a secret site ? I would love to know what this is!

Also wanted to add that my favorite workout on rest days in Piyo Drench on Piyo Heat if stuck for time as it is about 10 mins shorter than Drench.
I like to kinda do something each day as paying for the subscription!

yumyumpoppycat · 12/09/2018 17:44

Welcome Porridge!!

I am signed up to BB for the year so it's exciting to have another on demand buddy, although I have to say I have done drench and I thought the title was appropriate so not sure it would be my idea of a rest day! Did you get good results with chalean extreme?

Reastie · 12/09/2018 19:46

Hi porridge, welcome! Piyo is great but hard work!

Did ba on LMOD on Monday (love it! Is it sad I high five myself?!), rest day Tuesday then this morning did 30 min spin. My bike is really getting ancient though so I’m thinking of getting a new one. I ate a huge amount yesterday as was so hungry but today had a lot of early morning loo visits (tmi) of not just the wee variety so I’m hoping any excess food I ate yesterday has left my system! Got a trial of a yoga class locally tomorrow morning so see how I find it. Was going to have a quick run first but I’ve already done 4 workouts this week so I think adding in yoga will be enough.

Reastie · 12/09/2018 19:48

Oh, meant to add I also did combi LMOD cx and yoga workout this week too. Really enjoyed it. Cx is core focused and it felt hard work as my core is rubbish. Had to modify with body dodgyness and still felt bad at times but no bad aching of injuries next day, hurrah. Will try that again as I think it does me good to do regular core work.

Purpleraindeer · 12/09/2018 20:50

Hi
Welcome porridge. You’re named after my favourite food! Grin
Good workouts all.
I’ve been doing my 22hc doubles. Cardio2/strength2 yesterday and then special ops resistance/cardio1 today. Special ops resistance is the bonus workout and is a bit rubbish it turns out. Lots of familiar faces in the cast from p90x3 but it weirdly wasn’t very challenging. Also the special site video had no sound apart from Tony saying ‘3 2 1 go!’ for each move so was a bit hard to follow. I presume whoever put it up there found Tony’s banter so irritating he/she dubbed it out which I do understand to a certain extent....
Rest day tomorrow then long run on Friday. Am still thinking of what my next challenge could be. Am wondering about doing an ultra marathon. That does feel a bit scary and mental though

Porridgeprincess · 13/09/2018 10:18

Thank you for the lovely welcome!!

Porridge is also my favorite food. i have to limit myself to a few times a week though as would literally try eat it twice a day if I could get away with it!

It might take me some time to get used to the shortened names. LMOD is...?

I got great results with Chalene Extreme but they didn't kick in until the last month. My weight stayed the same mostly but my legs and back esp looked a lot firmer. My bra sat better etc.

I love PIYO, I nearly know the workouts by heart so i am thrilled to see the extra workouts on BOD, the live ones.

Personally I am happy with my weight. I am a size 12ish and can go form being a good toned one to a not so toned one and I just think that exercise is the thing that keeps other stuff on track for me if that makes sense. I was bored of my DVDs so thrilled to have access to so much on BOD.

I have hols to Teneriffe in a week so would like to do 30 mins of something each day before then if I can...save me from a massive shock of the scales when I get back

Porridgeprincess · 13/09/2018 10:19

An Ultra Marathon? Om-g that is a big big challenge!!

yumyumpoppycat · 13/09/2018 14:08

LMOD = Les Mills on demand (very similar to Beach Body on demand - these workouts are popular as classes in lots of gyms. Body Attack, Body Balance, Body Combat, etc.

Reastie how was yoga? Great that you have found a good core workout. {Hifive} ps I am pretty sure I have hifived myself too before.

Purple why is it that you have sold special ops to me by saying it isn't hard! Enjoy your run, an ultra marathon - wow that would be an amazing and pretty unique achievement

Porridge that does sound like a good achievement with Chalean extreme. You seem to have a really healthy attitude towards your weight, I would love to be able to stick to one size and just go up and down within a 12. I think I have a really narrow band of acceptable weight because I am not very tall and also big boned - so at 9 stone I look way too thin and at 11 stone I look big!

I have done my 3rd clean week workout - having said it was for beginners I had mega DOMS on Tuesday and didn't workout, then didn't make time yesterday but if I do 4 this week it will be enough for me to be happy - although 5 would be really better. Today was clean week strength - I didn't enjoy it as I hate lunges and squats, I also struggled with the weight I picked - 9lbs and had to drop lower half way through … but it's done yay!

Purpleraindeer · 14/09/2018 17:53

Hello!
10miles this morning. Was quite enjoyable (at least in comparison to last weeks effort where I felt dreadful after 2miles and packed it in at 5miles)
Well done on clean week poppy. Those strength workouts are painful and a bit dull sometimes but they are very effective in terms of changing how you look. I have the same issue as you - for me half a stone is really noticeable as I’m short.
Have a good evening all

Theromanempire · 15/09/2018 13:56

Welcome porridgeprincess good to have someone else join us in the Beach body love Wink I just can't get to grips with Piyo - I try it intermittently but never seem to fall in love with it and I have no idea why! I love workouts that don't involve jumping as I am naturally lazy so it should suit me!

Just coming to the end of week 6 of Liift - haven't exercised for 3 days for a variety of reasons so it is a good job it only requires 4 workouts a week Blush This is the end of the 'build' phase and then the last 2 weeks are 'shred' so god only knows what that is going to entail!

Weight still bobbing around the same so the calorie drop doesn't seem to be working either after all...ended up having a massive KFC last night due to sheer frustration!! Hoping it might kickstart my body or I am deluding myself

OP posts:
Theromanempire · 15/09/2018 13:58

Oh and I am tall so I can apparently lose 2 stone and it isn't noticeable Grin I have gone from a 16/18 to 14/16 and very few people have noticed Hmm I feel great though so it's a good job I am not doing it for compliments Grin

OP posts:
Reastie · 15/09/2018 16:58

Thermo you’re feeling great and that’s the main thing. People will notice and IMO often people do notice they just don’t always say. Hope the shedding goes well Wink

Purple how do you do it, just go out for ten miles like that!? I’m not surprised at all you’re thinking of an ultra marathon (or whatever hard punishment it was called), you don’t do things by halves!

Yumy yoga was good thanks. Quite fast faces with lots of poses and I think I get more out of a longer slower one. Have decided not to do the class as the timings tricky and it’s £9 a go which seems steep for an hours class (??).

I wish I was still at my gym as I miss it so much but they were so useless there and it was so expensive.

Did a run today. In my fastest ore injury I was doing 10k in an hour and I’m not back to the dizzying heights of that but I did 5 k in 32 minutes which is the best for a while so I’m happy with that. Also I didn’t have a migraine afterwards like I did a couple of weeks ago so that’s a bonus!

Hoping for BA Tomorrow but knees a bit iffy today so may have to swap for something else.

Purpleraindeer · 15/09/2018 21:32

That is an awesome weight loss roman. There is no way people haven’t noticed. They’re just not mentioning it for whatever reason. You’re happy with it and that is the main thing. I get the kfc frustration. I’m at my heaviest in a year and was so fed up I had burger and chips for lunch!

I hear you on the fast yoga reastie. I like it when it is a bit slower so you can concentrate more. All the B.B. yoga is too fast and it stops the nice calm feeling you get from doing it properly. £9 sounds ok to me. Yoga normally is pricy. It was £12 at the place I used to go. I can only go and run 10miles now as I have been running about that mileage every weekend since about March - it has been a long struggle. Also I go sloooooooow.

Have got a cold (bloody kids bringing germs home!) so didn’t feel like much today. Did the 8x8 from Joel and Jericho which I really recommend. Only 22mins of strength stuff but feels quite effective. Is a good option when you’re short of time/motivation

Reastie · 16/09/2018 07:24

Hope your cold gets better soon purple, I’m getting one too (thanks also dd!). Every single year within the first 2 weeks of school she gets a cold!

Maybe £9 isn’t bad then. If it were a really good class and slower pace I think I would’ve signed up but also I have to pay for the term and I know there are weeks I can’t do and it involves hanging around town for an hour (before the shops open) in town on my previous day off to wait for it to start and I decided I couod use the time better. I’ll go back to body balance on LMOD.

Porridge how are you doing? (Which reminds me of joey tribiani, I didn’t mean it like that obv. Started watching all the friends repeats on channel 5 again as haven’t seen them for years and really enjoying them)

Porridgeprincess · 17/09/2018 09:46

Morning ladies!!
I think it is cold season all over, also there is manflu in my house! Yikes

Fast yoga is probably suited to people who have low attention spans. I would probably fare better at that than the long poses myself but the long poses are probably where all the benefits are!

Reading this thread motivated me to look at 80day obsesion yesterday. I did day 1! It was good but long. Hard to get up earlier to fit that in. 1 hour is a lot. This was bang on 1 hour. I did enjoy it though and I am feeling great twinges today!! Sides esp!

2 stone is a huge weight loss Roman. I often find that it is when I lose weight it is almost when I gain a little lb or two back that people then start to notice that I lost some!! Ironic!!

Theromanempire · 17/09/2018 12:27

£9 seems expensive to me for an exercise class...maybe as I am in the North and classes are cheaper?? £4-£6 is the going rate round here.

Porridge I completed 80DO (although we only did 4 out of the 6 workouts each week) and, whilst I really enjoyed it, it was too much of a time commitment - couldn't do it before work without getting up at 4.30am and struggled to fit it in after work with the DC's after school activities etc. I would love to restart it but honestly can't see how...30 minute workouts are far more ideal. I might use the odd workout from it as part of a hybrid timetable (I really liked the cardio core ones and they were only 40 minutes!).

Happy Mondays everyone - week 7 of Liift starts tonight. The 4th workout of the week is a Full Body Hiit workout that looks absolutely hideous Confused can't wait till the weekend for that Wink

OP posts:
Porridgeprincess · 17/09/2018 14:12

4:30am is just not right !! Any benefits of the healthy regime would be lost due to pure exhaustion.

I don't really like the booty one from a little obsessed so I might mix and match the 80day week 1 up a bit. Maybe try legs this evening, so thats probably day 5?
Teneriffe next week means this is not a proper start week as is.

Are you enjoying Lift4? I am really looking forward to beginning this one. Soon as well... it will be ready once I get back from holidays!! Do you have a big weights selection?

Also... Joel is delicious !!

Reastie · 17/09/2018 14:25

I agree, 4:30 start is pretty hard core, I wouldn’t do it!

Porridge I’m Envy of your holiday next week, I bet it’s a lovely time to go to Tenerife.

Did cxworx this morning. Modified a fair bit as usual and found it a good work out. Good old Corey popped up on it, he seems to pop up on so many LMOD workouts!

Rest day tomorrow workout wise but off to London for a course so will be a long tiring day...
