Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

If it still not on the site? I’m really annoyed as I really enjoyed the legs workout and was excited to try the others, grrr. It’s so different to the other strength workouts witht he hiit aspect although I know I could do something similar myself at home made up, it’s not the same as having someone there doing it with me telling me what to do! Maybe I’ll try a shorter legs workout like p90x3 and then a couple of ba tracks on the end for good luck.

Sorry haven’t posted, struggling to keep up with bargain thread now it’s uo and on holiday this week. Took dd cycling yesterday but didn’t count as workout due to extremely weak pace! Did 5 miles in total with for dd7 was her longest ever ride so good for her! I’ll count it as my active recovery thermo Wink ) Up early this morning and hoping for a run or cycle from holiday home.

Re active recovery I was doing swimming and yoga as my active recovery days but physio said it was too much for my body so be careful and gentle for the recovery. My knees are much happier now I’m not working them so hard without breaks, I really notice the difference.

Speaking of yoga I’ve found a local class I’m hoping to try next term, hoping it’ll help with stress relief more than fitness. It starts at 9:30 and I drop dd at school 5 mins away at 8:20 so I’m wondering if iwbu to do a run before yoga to sneak a workout in but I’d turn up all sweaty and smelly for the class. What do you think? Class is in a hall so no shower facilities and no facilities nearby (and Home is a 30 min round trip)

Reastie · 20/08/2018 05:43

Went in bb site and of course you can’t buy liift dvds it has to be bbod and I’m not doing that AND LMOD and I love LMOD too much to cancel

Theromanempire · 20/08/2018 06:59

Reastie I wouldn't worry about turning up to yoga sweaty - sounds like the ideal opportunity to squeeze in a run and yoga would be the perfect opportunity to stretch and de-stress afterwards. Personally I would walk it rather than run it but I hate running Grin

Yes, Liift is on VIP access only at the moment hence why it is only available on BOD rather than DVD and I think that is also why you have to pay extra for it as I am sure when they are on general release, they are available on BOD with no extra charge.

I am irrationally annoyed by the secret site even though I know I have no right to be considering how much money it has saved me over the last couple of years Blush

OP posts:
Reastie · 20/08/2018 17:11

Thermo I remember being irrationally annoyed when they took all the ba workouts down, it really made me cross and annoyed and upset for weeks! Now I have to pay for them!

I’ve decided I wish LMOD would do a ‘pick your own class’ on the app where you can pick the tracks from different releases to make your own mash up workouts. I’d love that. In fact, I’d love it so much I’d pay a premium for it, maybe I should email them and ask if they’d consider doing it. There must be a big demand

Purpleraindeer · 20/08/2018 20:27

Its still not up!!! Sad and now the 21dfx workouts have been removed too Shock
I am irrationally annoyed by B.B. who have clearly got better at dealing with piracy. Damn.

I did find a new album called Joel and Jericho with 5 workouts in it which I’m going to do. First one was with a sandbag (I substituted with a dumbbell). It was really good actually. I’ll keep you posted on the rest of them. My plan is 4x workouts plus a long run. I just can’t be faffed with yoga/stretch etc.

Am glad you’re enjoying liift roman. Keep us posted and maybe I’ll join you. I’m not quite ready to pay up yet..... is there a way to preview what other stuff is on bbod. I am worried I’ll sign up and find out that you have to pay more for all the good workouts that I like and then I’ll be even more irrationally cross!

And reastie - what is the bargain thread? After your Xmas thread sorted my entire Xmas with 2 mths to go, I’m keen for more!

Purpleraindeer · 22/08/2018 18:28

Just FYI I’ve done 2 more workouts from Joel and Jericho. Last night was a cardio then yoga. Was ok. Today I did 8x8 which was weights. It was only 25mins but really good. I was sweating and breathing heavily by 5mins in. Excellent.

Theromanempire · 23/08/2018 13:28

Purple those workouts sound interesting - I will check them out once I have finished the Liift programme.

I did Core Speed but without any of the impact on Tuesday as my active recovery workout - I loved it! So much more fun than having to jump it all Wink Plus the Jog Recovery breaks which I am normally desperate for when doing it properly were more of a nuisance this time as I wasn't gasping for breath at any point.

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 27/08/2018 19:27

Did the Joel and Jericho half and half ‘harder’ on Friday. Was excellent. 20mins proper hiit then abs then yoga. Obv wanted to just skip the yoga but I didn’t Halo. Then 10mile run on sat (first long run in 6 wks so I really felt it) and the Joel sandbag workout tonight. Just had a massive meat dinner to build up my muscles/because it was delicious!

Hope you’ve all had good weekends

Theromanempire · 29/08/2018 13:26

Purple I have just had a look at the Hard and harder one - omg!! The HIIT part looks really hard Blush or I am just so much unfitter than the rest of you Grin

Now in week 4 of LIIFT4 and still absolutely loving it! The workouts seem a bit random in the first couple of weeks but there is a pattern to them which emerges as you get further into it. Joel is so my absolute favourite trainer although DH is unhappy as I get the eye candy to look at instead of him Grin

I am doing other workouts but low impact on my recovery days so I did my favourite ever Body attack workout on Saturday and it was so much fun doing it low-impact. Very little impact on my cardio fitness but good way to get my steps up and I guess that is what active recovery is all about. Really need to embrace yoga though Hmm

So my diet has stalled a bit - not because I haven't been following it as I absolutely have Sad So my thoughts are that (1) I need to drop to the next calorie level down but I am burying my head in the sand about this as I don't want to give up 300 calories a day just yet Blush (2) I need a carb refeed but it seems too early after my holiday (it's only been 4 weeks) and not sure I can take the leap of faith it requires or (3) TOTM but my weight has plateaued for the last couple of weeks and surely TOTM weight gain doesn't impact you for 2 weeks - however, I do seem to have started my period today so maybe this is the case?

No idea what to do at the moment - going to give it another week and see if it starts to drop again and if not, sob into my pillow and give up that 300 calories Sad

Anyway, enough of my ramblings - hope you are all ok Smile

Hello all,

Sorry I’ve been missing from the thread, finding things all quite overwhelming atm and have been struggling through (nothing specifically, just a build up). Also have back to schoolitis as back to work tomorrow Sad. Still working out but somewhat random workouts that I squeeze in whenever I can.

Hoping for a run this morning so off to have a quick breakfast to let it go down before I head out later.

Purple I’m so impressed you can just head out for a 10 mile run like that! Do your knees ache at the end? When I was working on distance and running for over an hour I found my knees would really hurt which was really annoying as otherwise I couodbe kept going.

Thermo I guess there’s always going to be a stall in weight on anything, just make sure you eat enough for all the activities you’re doing to get it strong. Totm can affect me for random lengths of time, maybe leave it another week or so before reducing calories (and try the refuelling idea in that time to check it’s not that). Maintaining is good though, you’re not increasing, and remember you’ll be adding muscle by the liift program so you might be the same weight but may still be losing fat. When I went from lots of strength stuff to purely cardio (and very limited cardio at that so not huge calorie burnage) due to injuries I actually lost about 10 lbs in a month or so which I put down a lot to loss of muscle. Also when I’ve started new workout program sometimes I’ve held on to weight for the first few weeks and then lost a fair amount as the workouts sort of shock my body doing something new and it won’t let go of the weight I think in surprise for what I’m putting it through. Then when it works out what I’m doing and it’s not such a shock anymore it then kicks into gear and I’m back to losing.

Theromanempire · 03/09/2018 12:36

Reastie lovely to hear from you Smile Sorry you are struggling at the moment and hope your return to work goes smoothly Flowers

Thanks for the suggestions about my weight - still no idea what the issue is. My period was so light that I am not sure it even was one (my cycle is literally all over the place and light periods are not unusual but this was exceptionally light Hmm), I had an inadvertent refeed on Friday as I caved when we got a Chinese takeaway and decided to eat what I wanted rather than what I should and then ate a ton of whole nut chocolate which is my ultimate fave Grin

However, my weight is still around the same. I am trying to look at what I have achieved already (2 stone loss) and think this is just a period of consolidation on that but so frustrating when that first 2 stone dropped off relatively easily and I thought the next 2 would do the same Blush although it probably would if I drop to 2000 calories...

Going to give it this week and then if my weight stays the same, I am going to have to bite the bullet and lose those 300 calories Sad

Workout wise - just finished week 4 of Liift4 so halfway there.

Hi all sorry I have been missing over the summer and sadly I cannot bring glad tidings of exciting (or any for that matter) workouts being done while I was MIA Blush I have been suitably rewarded by my lack of exercise by weird new saggy bits on my thighs!

We went away for 10 days and had a lovely time, I did mentally persuade myself that I wouldn't gain weight on hol and weirdly I got food poisoning so the saying be careful what you wish for is true!

I am really not sure what to do now but I need to do something - I think I need a new challenge. Maybe I could sign up to BB on demand and consider the extra for VIP after a month or so if necessary?

Really interesting to hear about new workouts purple and Roman!

Reastie sorry you are feeling overwhelmed, it's a horrible feeling, have you gone back to work now? Flowers

yumyumpoppycat · 05/09/2018 15:55

Roman hopefully the weight will start to come off again without you needing to drop cals, well done on the 2 stone loss.

yumyumpoppycat · 08/09/2018 14:56

Ooh it's quiet.

Hope you are around Roman , I am dithering about BB on demand! What membership did you go for? The free trial only seems to be for the US? I found a link for 30 day free but it takes you straight to checkout which seems dodgy. £99 for the year looks like the best option - and no more than I spent on a couple of the DVD packages, but still feels a lot when I have so many dvds! And if it is a bit rubbish I am stuck with if for the year! Are you pleased with it? I have never done 21 day fix, cize, shaun week or 80 day obsession, plus some of the more random ones, and LIIFt when that eventually comes out.

Hope you are ok Reastie and Purple.

Theromanempire · 08/09/2018 15:40

Welcome back yumyum, lovely to hear from you. Sorry the summer has been an exercise-free zone (or not sorry - a break from exercise is sometimes great Wink)

I did get the free trial - not this time as I had already tried it a couple of years ago and it recognised my email address! Can't remember how I got it and whether it was on the US or UK website.

So I paid for the £99 one for the year as it seemed to be the best value. I did have to pay and extra £40 for liift4 as it is still in VIP status but I think it will be on the free part within the next few weeks.

In terms of whether it is worth it - I'm not convinced as, apart from Liift4, all the workouts are on the secret site for free Hmm However, I do like the security of knowing that whatever workout I want to do will be there (rather than crossing my fingers and hoping it works). It is easier to find the workouts on the BOD site as well. I am a bit annoyed that you have to pay extra for the VIP ones as I think they launch those via VIP a few months before and I am not patient enough to wait until they are free so I can foresee I will end up paying a lot more over time unless I manage to show some restraint.

However, I justify it as being far cheaper than any gym membership - if it wasn't for the knowledge of the secret site, I would say it was more than reasonably priced Wink

In weight news, I have taken the plunge and dropped my calories. Theoretically I have dropped by 300 calories to 2000 but I am giving myself a 100-150 calorie buffer. Started it on Wednesday so hopefully it works!

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 08/09/2018 16:04

Thanks Roman - I think I will probably go for it with BBOD for convenience, I am glad LIIFT is going on soon, I can wait a couple of weeks - any longer and I would have been tempted. I always want the new release too! £8 odd a month is about the same as a workout class so not bad. After the year I might do LMOD again as I did like that.

Fingers crossed for the cal drop!

yumyumpoppycat · 08/09/2018 16:23

I've done it! Just need to remember to cancel now!

Purpleraindeer · 08/09/2018 18:15

Hello I’m here but haven’t been posting much as no one else has.... hmm viscious circle....

Welcome back poppy. Glad you’re getting on well roman. Well done on taking the plunge on the cals drop. I need to do the same really as my eating is all over the place and I’m feeling a bit more squishy than usual.... I can’t seem to quite find the motivation though.

I have the same dilemma as you poppy re bbod. I am going to defer a bit longer then ask for it as a bday present. That way lift will be on it at that point too. I’ve been doing random Joel and Jericho workouts and last week did doubles of 22hc (surprisingly hard work actually!)

Reastie hope you’re ok and back to school wasn’t too bad.

Reastie · 08/09/2018 18:48

Hi all,

I wish liift was on the silly secret site, I really liked the legs workout! I’m not paying for bbod though as already do LMOD which I use all the time so it’s not worth it for me.

Have been referred back to specialist re elbow issue and potentially may need an operation to sort it out Confused . I’m so fed up now, it’s been about 3 years I think! It would be so nice to do upper workouts as they used t be my favourite ones.

Thermo how are you coping with the calorie drop? Hope it’s not making things too hard?

Thanks for the nice comments, I’m glad to have got first week back out of the way but has been a bit rubbish. Last Sunday I went for a run and got a migraine which started at the end of the run (luckily not too far from home) then got IBS pain most of the week with stress of everything. Didn’t stop workouts but did make me eat more (weirdly eating helps the pain so even though I’m not hungry I know often it’s the only thing that’ll help). Need to get a workout schedule planned so I have a rough idea what I’m doing when now it’s back to normality with the new term.

yumyumpoppycat · 08/09/2018 19:02

Reastie it will be good if an op can finally sort your elbow out for you. Sounds like a hard week with your health but hopefully getting back into the swing of it will mean next week is a bit less stressful. If the BB site had a good monthly option like LMOD it would be nice to switch between the two but clearly they are trying to avoid that with their plans.

Purple that's a good idea to ask for it as a present. I am considering a fitbit for my Christmas present.

Quite excited to watch some of the naff non exercise videos on BBOD tonight in prep for starting one of the 7 day mini schedules tomorrow,

Reastie · 08/09/2018 19:35

Yumy FYI re Fitbit, I used to have one but found the wrist hr monitor terrible and they don’t sell chest straps that sync with them. It was the main reason for selling mine and getting a polar (and now I have a garmin) although if you’re not bothered by he stats wouldn’t make any difference for you.

yumyumpoppycat · 08/09/2018 19:42

Thanks Reastie, that's a good point which I'd forgotten about - I think this is partly why I think about getting one each year and then change my mind after reading reviews as although it would be great to know about steps etc I would also like to know the heart rate stuff.

Theromanempire · 08/09/2018 21:28

No messages for ages then about 10 today Grin Glad everyone is back!

reastie what a nightmare with your elbow...I can feel your frustration! Hopefully the 'experts' can work it out and fix it for you.

yum liift4 is definitely worth the wait and money! It's so much easier to fit in your life than some of the other programmes like 80DO as it's only 4 days a week and 30 minutes. Plus, I was dubious about whether the HIIT stuff would really benefit me cardio-wise as there isn't really a lot of it. However, I went to my Clubbercise class last week after a 4 week break and the only exercise I had done during that time was Liift4 so I was expecting to really struggle with a 45 minute pure cardio class. But, surprisingly, I actually felt fitter and not quite so out of breath as I had before the break when I was doing the class weekly Shock so maybe I need to not be so cynical about HIIT stuff!

OP posts:
Reastie · 09/09/2018 07:12

Thermo are you noticing good physical progression and toning from liift too? I love the idea of 30 mins 4 times a week! (Obv can’t do it with injuries and without bbod but doesn’t mean I couldn’t tweak my workouts to make them more in that style).

Spotted in LMOD some combo workouts so thinking of trying a core/yoga combo one tomorrow, 30 mins core (with Dan as in Dan and rach) and 10 mins yoga at the end.

yumyumpoppycat · 09/09/2018 11:03

Wow that's amazing Roman! I think HIIT is supposed to increase fitness but interesting on a 45 minute workout to see improvement also. Guess it shows the importance of changing it up.

No BBOD watched/worked out to yet but there will be even if its just yoga at midnight! I screwed up I should have held off on breakfast and worked out first.
