Thought I would start a new thread as we have literally run out of room on the last one Grin

purple Monday is usually my heaviest day of the week aswell Hmm no idea why as I am not binging at weekends but as I weigh myself daily, I can spot the trends (and this is why Team RH say to have daily weigh ins rather than once a week).

reastie I bet it feels so great looking back as to how you used to be. I can't wait until I am able to do that although photos of me are so few and far between as I absolutely hate having my photo taken. I have about 3 photos of me with my DC which breaks my heart and one of the main motivators for sorting my sh*t out now Sad We have absolutely no family photos either as DH hates it as much as me - awful isn't it?

I have had a good weekend for working out - did Legs from 80DO on Friday night, Pyramid on Saturday and then Cardio Core from 80DO yesterday. Today is going to be ALO AAA followed by ABC Extreme (that's the plan anyway but dependent on time). Quite proud of that considering the heat and other commitments but I am quite clearly in the zone Grin

Yes I’m taking your advice on the weigh in!

If it’s any consolation I have basically no photos of me either roman. Not because I don’t like my photo but because I’m always the one taking them. Losing weight really changed the way I felt about photos. Before I would cringe and most would show me with a big tummy or multiple chins, now I generally look fine and it’s only my clothes which I’m critical of. Progress I guess?

Well done on the work outs. You’re properly in the zone!

Sweat intervals for me tonight. Wasn’t quite as hot as I was expecting. Did it in bra top and shorts. Kept catching a glimpse of my loose wobbly tummy skin flapping all over the place Shock. I could also see some proper abs though so I’m taking it as a win!

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 29/06/2018 19:35

Thermo we have barely any photos of me with dd when she was young as I refused to have my photo taken, it’s sad :( I bet when we’re old we won’t think about our size and will just think how young we looked!

Legs ached in such a good way Day after p90x! Then did ba and weird back of knee pain kept coming back with lunges.

It’s weird, I weigh 10 lbs less than I did 2 years ago yet my summer dresses are tighter around my chest and waist than they were 2 years ago. Just shows how weighing yourself isn’t always the best way to measure things. I did a lot more strength work 2 years ago so had more muscle.

Purpleraindeer · 30/06/2018 17:36

Hope you’re all surviving the hot weather. Limped through Friday fight today. Was hot and had been out for a big lunch so I’m not sure conditions were ideal

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 01/07/2018 19:41

Urgh it’s so hot here!

Had a brilliant workout this morning that I loved though. Did a 5k cycle doing laps around the garden (we have quite a big garden Grin ) then played the BA tracks from the running track on my LMOD app on my phone and did it in the shade in the garden. Meant I had loads more space than our tiny dining room so when they shouted at me to use more space I actually could! Did a release that I knew quite well and followed the audio cues they have on their videos without needing to look at what they were doing.

Can’t decide what to do tomorrow. Did run in sat and another cardio yesterday which physio will eyeroll at me for doing them in a row! Would like to do an outdoors something in the garden again but can’t decide what. At end I should take my iPad out and do bodybalance or do a legs workout of my own invention. I might do the latter actually, planning some different moves on paper tonight and then I can listen to a podcast whilst I do it tomorrow.

Hope everyone’s getting on well.

Theromanempire · 02/07/2018 08:04

OMG the heat Shock and I am in the North so for those of you in the South, it must be even worse! It's really making it hard to exercise consistently but I am trying but a few too many rest days are starting to creep in! Did one of the 80DO AAA workouts on Friday evening and then Dirty 30 yesterday.

As I feel that I have been slacking a bit, today's plan is to do Barre Legs (as I feel I am due a leg workout) followed by T25 Stretch after I have dropped the DC at school then I am going to Clubbercise tonight to try and get back on track Confused

I feel like I am constantly fighting my instinct to laze around with a beer Grin But, a major positive - I haven't had a drink since the end of April and managed to resist temptation this weekend even though there was beer in the house and we had a bbq and the sun was shining etc etc

Reastie your outdoor exercise sounds fab! My garden is not big enough unfortunately to do laps round Wink

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 02/07/2018 09:26

I love a bit of an outdoor workout reastie. I do worry about what the neighbours hear though! We have another problem as we cut back a few bushes which were overgrown and whilst they grow back the neighbours can see into our garden. I’m not used to this so I’ve been wandering around the garden post workout in a bra top and tiny shorts (it’s too hot for more!) and then realise they can see me Shock.

Well done on the no booze roman. I am the same - once I stopped drinking much I rarely feel like it now.

Did max out cardio last night. House was roasting and felt dreadful but got into it after 5mins. Helped by dd shouting don’t stop mummy! She also kept saying about Shaun t ‘does that man ever stop talking’ Grin

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 02/07/2018 10:26

Thermo that’s brilliant resisting the beer, these things are so difficult especially in this weather! I e been craving chocolate a lot recently for some reason but for me it’s easier not to have any ever than to have a bit as I can’t just have a bit. I try to tell myself how actually it’s the thought of it that’s better than when you actually have it.

Purple we have bits of the garden that aren’t overlooked at all so I chose there! My immediate neighbours are elderly and have recently moved out so it’s empty and for sale so theoretically I could wander around in skimpy workout gear like yours —although it might put off any potential buyers looking around the house— . Grin to your dd!

I did outdoor workout 3 today (Saturdays run counts as number 1 right?) which was a legs day workout. Did the following (I may be making up names for moves) for a made up workout

20 weighted squats
10 lunches each side
Balance leg kick out with weight on thigh
Repeat above

Sumo squat x 15 then pulses
Lunge pulses four sets of five pulses
Triple squats 8 each leg

Pistol squats 10 each leg
Walking squat x 20
Diver balance
Repeat above

Skater squat balance x 15
Russian lunge x 12
Chair pose 1 min with 1 break
Repeat above

Calf lifts weighted 3 toe positions 15 slow then pulses in each position

Purpleraindeer · 04/07/2018 21:27

Sounds like a good workout reastie
Has been a tough 2 days here. Moved on to max30 mth 2 workouts. Argh - they felt hard. Maxout power yesterday made my shoulders burn, then max out sweat today - argh - knackering but good. My legs and arms are jelly now.

Hope you’re all ok

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 05/07/2018 12:28

I’ve only ever done month 1 of insanity max purple and that was hard enough!!

Did LMOD athletic step express this morning and it was so hot inside compared to a week of outside workouts (especially as had been cooking so oven heated up the house nicely) and sweated buckets. Did BA yesterday so was sneaky to do two cardio in a row but will have 2 rest days now as working tomorrow and off on holiday on Saturday.

Theromanempire · 05/07/2018 12:41

Glad I am not the only one struggling in the heat!

I managed to do Upper Fix followed by ABC Extreme yesterday to give me (and DH) a full body workout. It was quite a good combination and I really enjoyed it...but it was so hot Grin I did 16 pushups with all my weight forward but still on my knees (rather than box ones) both times round which I am very happy about. A few months I could probably manage 1 Hmm Still struggling on my toes for more than 1 or 2 but work in progress!

Am looking for something to do tonight as my Thursday night walking buddy (DH) has abandoned me for a cricket match Hmm and I don't like walking around the streets/woods by myself. Might try one of the walking workouts on YouTube...

Quick question, I normally stop all exercise on holiday but this year, I quite fancy trying to fit some walking in most days. I usually wake up before everyone else so thought I could go and do 30-40 minutes first thing in the morning. However, my kit is going to get very stinky very quickly in the heat and not sure if there are washing facilities. I don't want to take more than a couple of vest tops and one pair of bottoms. What do you all do?

OP posts:
YuleABUnREASTIEable · 05/07/2018 13:39

Thermo we always do self catering and only pick places with washing machine so it’s never an issue but if I were you I’d buy some travel soap or taken some clothes washing liquid and hand wash workout stuff in the sink then hang it up in the bathroom during the day. Hopefully with the weather good like this it should dry quickly. There’s a great liquid clothes wash I get from Sainsbury’s called halo sports wash. It’s non bio and good for smelly workout clothes and I’ve used it to hand wash stuff in the sink in the past no probs. Take it in a water bottle r something to reduce taking up case space! I usually try to keep roughly on schedule with workouts on holiday and really enjoy running in new areas for a change, I’m sure walking would be enjoyable

Purpleraindeer · 07/07/2018 17:14

You did a double in this heat roman? Hardcore. I just couldn’t face working out on thurs so I didn’t Blush

Don’t judge me, but I often wear my exercise clothes a couple of times before washing as they don’t seem to get too smelly. We’re like reastie and are always self catering these days but when we didn’t I used to take those anti smell tops and then just rinse them out in the shower. That meant they’d last a few days. Probably reasties more sanitary suggestion of actually washing them would be better Grin

Last long run this weekend - left at 7am and ran 11 miles. It was absolutely roasting by 9am so I was glad I had gone early

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 07/07/2018 19:49

What are these anti smell tops of which you speak purple? —I need them—

I am on holiday :) . Hoping for a run in the morning but might have to do some sightseeing instead and it’s so hot I know I won’t manage a workout if I don’t do it first thing. I did a pouty face at dh for missing my run but he doesn’t understand!

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 07/07/2018 19:50

Meant to add purple that’s brilliant work on the run in this heat. It’s just so hot!

Purpleraindeer · 08/07/2018 21:39

Just normal synthetic sports tops reastie. They don’t smell when they’re newish. It’s after a lot of washes somehow they just get smelly and stay smelly.

Rant alert. I needed some new trainers. The model I like has been upgraded/improved but somehow in doing that the sizes have all changed. It is so irritating. I was a size 36 - now a 37 is too tight and I think I’m probably a 38 but I have to keep ordering them, trying them on and sending them back until I find out. Surely it’s not too much that they keep shoe sizes consistent?!

Limped through max out strength today. It was boiling and I was dripping in sweat by the end. Yuk. Also did the kids fun race at an event with dd today. It was only a mile but at 1pm that felt a long way! Was fun to do her first race together though.

Theromanempire · 09/07/2018 11:44

Yeah I agree that tops are usually ok up to a point and then the smell starts and it can't be got rid off! I will have a look at some handwash stuff and hope that it doesn't weigh too much (I may take a lot of toiletries and shoes with me on holiday Grin)

My weight seems to have plateaued again Hmm Last 2 weeks average weigh ins have been the same so not great - however, I guess it had to happen sometime as the weight loss was so consistent. This is where it gets hard - I am going to continue and hope it starts to shift although 2 weeks on an all inclusive holiday is going to pretty much ruin it anyway

Did a 40 minute CDF workout yesterday and then did the CDF Core Kinetics afterwards - not done that before but it is a really good 15-minute ab workout which is useful to tag onto the end of other ones (we usually do 21DF 10-minute fix for abs but I am SOOOOO bored of that).

OP posts:
YuleABUnREASTIEable · 10/07/2018 06:43

Another 5am wake up on holiday this morning today to squeeze in a workout before we go out . Did a run on Sunday morning which was very very slow due to heat and hills but then we ended out hiring bikes where we went so sort of did a double day! Rest day yesterday although still walking up hills so wasn’t sitting around doing nothing! This morning hoping to to BA on headphones in the garden but slightly worried the neighbours (who have windows straight onto the paving bit I’d do it on) will be laughing at me, but who cares, I’ll never see them again after this week! So workouts are doing ok but food is very much being over comsumed!

There was a Shaun t fb video yonks ago where Shaun t shared his tips for getting the smell out of workout clothes. I can’t remember what he used but I do remember him showing all his gear soaking in the bath in something!

Thermo stay positive, plateau isn’t a gain and you’re still following it. It won’t keep losing forever but this is the time to stay focused on what you’ve been doing and not give up!

Purple that’s so annoying about the trainers, I always think at least if you stay with the same brand the sizing should be consistent. Have you got a pair of good fitting ones yet? Did your dd get a medal? My dd and I did a mud run last year and she’s still so so proud of her medal!

Purpleraindeer · 11/07/2018 07:12

Yep dd got a medal reastie. She was so delighted she took it into school! No shoes yet. My race is on Sunday and I’ll have to use my old knackered shoes which isn’t great but better than new shoes which don’t fit. Well done on the holiday exercising. 5am is real commitment.

Roman - frustrating on the weight plateau. That is normally my cue to then get annoyed and eat something bad (pointless self sabotage) but I’m sure you’ll be more rational and just stick with what you’re doing. I remember poppy had a theory about refeeding - so one day of higher carbs does something to restart weight loss. Maybe google before you take this advice though as I may be talking rubbish!

Friday fight 2 last night. It is cooler here now so I can’t blame the constant stopping and resting on the heat. Am aching today so it must have been good for me.

Theromanempire · 13/07/2018 10:41

I have come across the refeeding theory before but it takes a leap of faith doesn't it? However, it is DS's birthday tomorrow so there will be lots of food/cake all day so I think I might just eat whatever I want tomorrow and see what happens - nothing to lose as my weight isn't dropping anyway!

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 16/07/2018 20:08

Hope the cake refeeding worked roman. I have been away for the weekend and have done some refeeding of my own. Everything was so yummy I just couldn’t help myself!

Did my half mara this weekend too. Was absolutely great. Was a trail race over a mountain so VERY hilly. Lots of walking as the ground was steep. We climbed 10x the height I climbed in my hilliest training run Shock. No wonder my legs are thrashed now. The best bit was the downs. They were super fast on rocky ground so lots of concentration required but it was really exhilarating. I definitely would do something like that again. My legs aren’t so sure. I have super DOMS now and I know tomorrow will be worse.

Hope you’re all ok

YuleABUnREASTIEable · 16/07/2018 20:47

Wow purple that’s fantastic. You know how to challenge yourself and not pick an easy option with that half marathon!

Thermo did the refereeing work?

Back from holiday now so getting into a summer holiday routine. Did a run on Sunday and a super quick bonus one this morning. It’s still so hot here that it’s so sweaty to workout.

my bike turbo arrived today and dh is going to set it up tomorrow so fingers crossed on Wednesday I’ll be doing either a homemade style hiit workout or a LMOD bike workout on my bike indoors, I’m so excited! Hope it all works.

Purpleraindeer · 17/07/2018 21:01

Enjoy the turbo reastie. I got a turbo when I was pregnant and I thought I’d use it for exercise. Needless to say it has gathered dust in the garage. Blush I’m sure you’ll be more diligent

Did speed 1.0 today to try to work off the doms. Omg. Bad plan. Legs still in agony. At least DH is in the same boat so we can laugh with/at each other

Theromanempire · 18/07/2018 07:05

purple congratulations on the half-marathon, especially as it sounds far more challenging than your standard course. Are you going to keep up the running?

reastie enjoy the Turbo - no idea what it is but I presume a fancy bike? I bet you can find a huge range of spin classes on Youtube.

So the refeeding does appear to have worked Smile I ate KFC, chocolate cake, ice cream and beer on Saturday, my weight shot up on Sunday but then settled back to where it had been on Monday and yesterday. Just weighed myself this morning and it was at it's lowest point it has been...and now I am going on a 2-week all inclusive holiday Grin Anyway one of my goals was to be under 14 stone before I went on holiday and I had given up hope due to the plateau and this mornings weight was 13 stone and 13lbs! I reckon I will put about half a stone on over the next 2 weeks but I have accepted that and will restart then with an aim to be 12 stone by Christmas.

OP posts:
YuleABUnREASTIEable · 20/07/2018 12:41

Purple how are the post race aches?

Thermo that’s fantastic to get the holiday weight goal, now go and have a brilliant holiday.

Well, I got the turbo set up (thermo it’s a machine so you can use your bike as an indoor exercise bike) and did a bike based LMOD workout. I have never done spin in my life but I’m assuming this was spin type class, lots of fast, slow, harder gear, easier gear, stand cycling etc. It was only 30 minutes by my goodness it was hard! I was dripping sweat and had to go easier than the video people. Thought I’d ache the next day but shockingly didn’t! Will try and do it weekly as part of my holiday routine.

Yesterday did BA 45 in the garden and this morning ran laps around the playground dd was in then did 10 minutes on those adult playground/workout machines as I got bored going round and round and round the same small field! Wasn’t that taxing or full on but at least I did something.
