Run Every Day February - who’s with me?

I got off to a bit of a slow start in January so have decided to embark on RED February instead (the shorter month makes me feel better about it!)

The plan is to run everyday but no pressure on speed or distance and some days it may well be a quick dash around the block as long as I get out there.

Having survived dry January (apart from one teensy glass of wine in the middle so maybe damp January) I have decided I will also give up sweets, chocolate, cake, ice-cream etc. I will allow myself savoury rubbish like crisps etc as I don’t tend to eat a lot of them anyway but sweet things are my weakness and I’ve been succumbing all too often!

So who is with me on the journey? We can all spur each other on.

Argh! I suppose I’d better get it over with!

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 04/02/2018 16:13

Done. Massively slower than the same route yesterday. But at least it is done.

Asdwife · 04/02/2018 16:45

Me tooooooo! Time to slob on the sofa and feel good about ourselves!

Myview2 · 04/02/2018 16:46

Fabulous work everybody! I’m loving our wee support group and finding it most helpful for getting motivated.

Well done everyone. We can all feel smug and relax now!

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 04/02/2018 21:20

It definitely helps to have someone encourage me out the door, and to know that they will be waiting to hear that i actually went!

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 05/02/2018 06:56

Back at work this week so will be a new challenge to go and run because it will always be dark. Will do it as soon as I get home and do a loop of some lit streets (my usual routes are unlit and hidden from potentially judgemental eyes)

Myview2 · 05/02/2018 09:01

That’s my 2.5km contribution done for today, I decided to get it out out of the way early on and dump my car at the school and run home. It’s downhill all the the way 😁 I will be walking back up later! Have a lovely Monday everyone and I look forward to hearing about those runs.

Well done, myview2! I like the downhill option!

Asdwife · 05/02/2018 14:01

Today I need someone to encourage me out the door! Have an hour left before the school run...

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 05/02/2018 14:40

That will be nice and picturesque then :)

MrsFrTedCrilly · 05/02/2018 14:40

Really proud of myself! It was a really big challenge for me, I’d only started couch to 5k in September and I have always studiously avoided exercise! Believe me if I could do January, you can do February you brilliant lot!!

Asdwife · 05/02/2018 14:50

2.5k in the bag taking me to 19.5k so far!
Ok so there were only maybe 10 snowflakes but it's bitterly cold, my ears are ringing.

Asdwife · 05/02/2018 14:55

Oops, I can't count. 14.5k to date not 19.5!

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 05/02/2018 15:28

Well done!! You will be my inspiration when I get home from work and don’t want to venture out.

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 05/02/2018 18:45

1.5miles done. Even slower than yesterday but I don’t care. That’s five days in a row :)

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 05/02/2018 18:45

applelolly have you made it out today?

Asdwife · 05/02/2018 19:00

Well done Porkiness!
I'm back in work on Wed and then I'll have to either run on my lunch break or call in some babysitting favours. I'm feeling determined though.

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 05/02/2018 19:11

I am wondering about running on my lunch break too. I don’t go far enough (yet) to get really disgustingly sweaty. But would I be embarrassed to be seen by colleagues...?
