I must do10k this weekend to have a chance for going the 1000.. now I've got the treadmill I have no excuse not to run 😱

Needing kick up arse in week one! This does not bode well! But I'm going to do it!

atomicnotsoblonde · 06/01/2018 12:23

Only managed 4.4 before having to stop for my inhaler. Any asthma sufferers with running tips? Clearly remembering to use the brown inhaler would help!!

Parkrun this morning, with a cheeky little PB, and a 2 mile run warm up along to it.
So that’s 17.5 miles at the moment, going to square it up to 20 for the week tomorrow.
I’m soooo tired now though, my body isn’t used to continuous running anymore, think I’ll be doing some napping this afternoon. It’s not helped by our cat waking us up at 6.20 this morning Angry, I’m still in holiday mode so that seemed really early!

CottonEyeJosephine · 06/01/2018 19:50

Not managed to add any more since Wednesday, a nasty cold and blocked sinuses have put me out of action. Hoping to get out there tomorrow and catch up a bit. Still on 13k...

SkiGirl007 · 06/01/2018 20:48

Had a frosty 10k run this morning dodging the icy puddles.

Total Jan: 31.5k

LoveVelo · 06/01/2018 21:01

7.8 miles today so running total now at 23 miles.
Not sure if I'll get anything in tomorrow as taking DS back to uni, but thinking of bike for a change if I do.

Undercoverbanana · 07/01/2018 12:23

39.8 miles for January so far. Feeling good. Ankle holding up nicely.

Tiredemma · 07/01/2018 13:29

So did my first 'proper' run for the new year today which was 5k.

So if I had my paltry 1 mile on NY Day to that and convert that into KM I have 6.6Km bagged so far. I need to up my game a little bit.

Some amazing figures on here! well done all.

I'm in - for 1000km (621 miles) running

18 miles done so far this year. That puts me ahead of my target (aiming for 14 miles a week - which gives me 7 spare weeks for lower mileage or non-running for whatever reason)

MayFayner · 07/01/2018 14:35

21k so far for me this year but that includes walking, as I'm trying to get back on track from an ankle injury last Autumn.

Christmas holidays have been a bit of a blur so I've just tried to get out here and there. Yesterday was a run down an extremely windy pier here in Dublin- I had to walk parts as I was exhausted running into the wind. The way back was ok though!

atomicnotsoblonde · 07/01/2018 14:40

Remembered my preventer inhaler today so was much easier, after having to stop yesterday!

5/982 - on target so far!

CottonEyeJosephine · 07/01/2018 15:50

12k run today so my total is now 25k for 2018 so far, on track.

LoveVelo · 07/01/2018 16:30

Managed to get just over 4.4 miles in today. As a pp said, worth logging with strava as I would have recorded as a running total of 28.4 but seeing as strava is able to record and tot up all the additional meters/ footage over the daily round up numbers, I'm actually showing as 28.6 miles on strava for my weekly total. Every little helps!

ShoopShoop · 07/01/2018 18:05

Good progress everyone 👍🏻

We've had people to stay all weekend so have only managed a short walk this weekend.

Need to get back on it tomorrow.

20.9/979.1

SokokeCat · 07/01/2018 18:18

I've not run so much this week...15km, so 15/1000km.
According to Strava, I have done 45 miles so 45/1000miles.

Not bad for a first week back after quite a long time being injured/unfit/fat/out of shape!

Pinkponiesrock · 07/01/2018 20:03

I did a very steady 4.5 miles today, then went for a coffee GrinBrew

So that takes me to 22 miles for this week so that’s an extra couple of miles to bank for a busy week.

One week on track, only 51 more to go!

BistoBear · 07/01/2018 21:12

I only ran 2 miles on Friday, outside was too cold and my bed was too warm!! Today ran 3.8 miles which gives me a total of 13 miles :)

Should hopefully get up early enough for the longer run to work tomorrow. Some great distances, well done and happy running everyone :)

SkiGirl007 · 08/01/2018 15:00

Added another 6k run mixed it up with some speed intervals today then went for a really good swim straight after. Smile

Total: 37.5k running - swim 2.4k

BistoBear · 08/01/2018 17:17

Manage a full run to work this morning, 4.4 miles added to my total.

I'm aiming to participate in one event per month so this should help keep my total on track.

17.4/ 2000.6

AlbusPercival · 08/01/2018 17:25

14.5 km down so far this year

983.5 to go

Freshprincess · 09/01/2018 07:56

Not a great start to the challenge for me. Just 11 miles last week, due to s mix of stormy weather and icy pavements and DCs not being back at school.

Back at it yesterday with a quick 4 miles straight after work.

I've just seen on the Strava 1000 miles group the top runner is on 196 miles already Shock. I don't know how anyone finds the time for that in a week!

ShoopShoop · 09/01/2018 11:50

Nothing yesterday sadly.

Hopefully back on it today....

BitOutOfPractice · 09/01/2018 12:42

I'm 20km in now. I've started doing a treadmill HIIT class and it's fab. I usually get to 4.5km in the class (some of that at a sprint, some at very steep hills!) and then stay on at the end till 5km. I'm loving it!

LoveVelo · 09/01/2018 18:08

Nothing to add to mine until Thursday this week, work sees me doing long days and travel until then!

ShoopShoop · 09/01/2018 19:27

Only 3.1 managed today in between crazy amount of meetings.
