Come and track your exercise goals. All welcome - old timers and newbies alike.

No particular rules, no previous fitness required. Just set yourself a goal, and go for it!

Ok another rubbish week from me but just out of a coaching session for my kettlebells

159/91

Now have competition dates for the 4th and 19th November (two slightly different disciplines). So there's a focus and motivation to get moving.

RJnomore1 · 28/08/2017 08:20

And back to my MMA/circuits training on Sunday morning

160/90

I've got a weights session to fit in later.

Submariner · 28/08/2017 09:13

Hi all, can I join you?

I'm a (very slow and amateur) runner. Going to do a half marathon in 3 weeks which I'm not particularly prepared for, but I did one earlier this year so I hope there's some muscle memory there somewhere!

I have signed up for the gym which will be opening all fresh and new at end of September. I will be swapping my weekly yoga class for gym subscription so hoping to get to at least 2 classes a week to get my money's worth.

My goals are not very defined yet - hoping that I will have more of an idea in the autumn when I am in the swing of the gym.

For now:

  1. Use these weeks wisely and finish the HM.
  2. Add in some core work/strength training. I'm assuming I have a core somewhere!
  3. Keep up a long run of roughly 10 miles on a weekend after the HM.
  4. Use the gym pool to improve my swimming technique and swim 5 lengths. (I'm rubbish!)
  5. Find 2 classes to go to regularly at the gym.

Hi there - following this thread. I signed up to a half marathon (6 months time) a while ago but have been injured so only just starting again.

I'm very unfit so hoping to build up fitness in the first instance. I've signed up for a 1 mile race (alongside the 5k/10k for some motivation). Even if I walk some of it I think I need to be setting myself fixed goals or I might never get started.

How long should it take to go from couch to 1 mile/half marathon?

OublietteBravo · 30/08/2017 11:24

Hello! I'm not doing very well at the moment. Still on holiday (currently at Stansted waiting for a flight to Ljubljana) - back home next Tuesday. I've walked quite a long way over the past couple of days, but no 'real' exercise.

Another shit week with 3 evenings of work one board meeting and a night out with dh but I did make it in the the gym tonight eventually.

161/89

Next week will be better

Submariner · 02/09/2017 17:51

Stretched out on the sofa after a 9 mile run. My muscles/joints are doing fine but my feet are shredded to pieces. Currently being held together with sticky plasters!

Curtains how have you been getting on with running? It's hard to put a deadline on how long it takes to get to a mile or a half marathon but the mile shouldn't be too far off for you. It's about 10-15 minutes of running. It should be a few weeks into a C25K programme.

Itscurtainsforyou · 02/09/2017 19:24

Hello there - not getting on great at the moment. Been home with children all week, lots of days out to wear them out, so I've been too knackered to go out in the evening! I've signed up to "fat girls running club" 5k in 5 weeks starting on Monday so hopefully that'll give me a bit of a kick...

RJnomore1 · 02/09/2017 20:48

162/88

Just finished a Kettlebell session (that's dedication on a Saturday night)

Saturday drama - I am now locked out. Left dd2 downstairs and told her I wasn't locking the door or taking my keys as she has lost hers.

Dd1 then went out and locked the pigging door.

Dd2 can't find my keys abs I can't remember where I left them.

Sat in my car. DH should finish at 9 fingers crossed and let me in. More worried about dd2 locked in TBH.

I spewed in the middle. I've never done that before. Ffs.

Itscurtainsforyou · 05/09/2017 23:23

I did a mile on the treadmill tonight. I nearly didn't make it there, but thought I need to start sometime/somewhere. Now aiming to run more than walk at the next session Blush

OublietteBravo · 06/09/2017 18:53

Hello! I'm back from my holiday and back to the Jillian DVDs. I've just done NMTZ. It hurt

Ouch - I'm very sore today serves me right for taking almost 3 weeks off

Couldn't face too many squats/lunges, so this evening I did 6W6P L1 and focused on abs.
