30 Day Shred... anyone want to join me?

I started in Feb and managed 25 days or so but got a stinking cold and my whole health kick went down the drain. Think 8lbs heavier now Shock

I started yesterday with Day 1 Level 1 and determined to keep up with it.

I've also started playing tennis again and I'm determined that by my hols in 7 weeks I will be fitting back in my size 12 clothes.

Anyone want to join in with some daily motivation?

Very late to join, but today I did L1 day 1. Have done the full 30 days years ago but since then have damaged and had operation on my knee, and avoided anything involving running or jumping.

Sweaty and out of breath now, will see how the muscles are tomorrow!

I decided to give RI30 a go as I hated L2 of 30 DS so much. I was finding any excuse whatsoever not to do it!

I think I might try a day of ripped and a day of shred to mix it up a bit. It was nice to have the new moves from Ripped. Although I'm not sure "nice" is the right word!

I still have some kind of weakness/pain in my upper arm though. I guess I am getting old!

L1 D2 of 30DS completed. Wasn't feeling too bad this morning so just got on and did it. Either the muscle aches will catch up with me, or I'm not as unfit as I thought (although, I am jumping on the spot rather than doing star jumps to try to protect my knee a bit).

I need someone to give me a kick up the wobbly arse! I've fallen off the Shred wagon in a big way. I had a stinking cold and 'couldn't' do and then I've just been too lazy/busy to get back into it. Aaaaagh!

And meanwhile, the weight keeps creeping up...

SoupDragon · 21/08/2017 12:56

I would kick you but I am in so much pain from RI30 that I can't :o

I never hurt this bad from Shred ever. it's worn off a bit now but there is no way I could have done D2 yesterday!

9GreenBottles · 21/08/2017 16:50

L1 D3 completed (had day off yesterday). My knee is playing up a bit so I'm not doing all the jumping - Jillian may have people who are 400lb doing them but I'd like to be able to continue walking without pain for a few more years. Adapting with marching and waving my arms about like a lunatic and doing more of the boxing squat things.

Rain here is a kick for you from me - get your finger out! Grin

9GreenBottles · 22/08/2017 13:01

L1D4 complete. I've upped the weights for flys but still not doing all the jumping around. Recovering with a ginger nut or two...

Freshprincess · 22/08/2017 16:44

I complete all 30 days on Saturday! (With only 3 rest days). Never managed it before so I'm very pleased.

I decided to do it again, all Natalie style with a bigger weight. I think the weight is too big though, because I'm actually in pain and not good achy pain.

What size weight is everyone using? My last one was 1kg Blush but I know that was not heavy enough, as I barely noticed it by level 3.

FlouryBap · 23/08/2017 12:39

Hello all, I am looking for a programme to do when I can't get out to a fitness class. Do you think 30 day shred is something I could do and skip it on the days I do BodyPump or BodyAttack at the gym?

clearsommespace · 27/08/2017 07:57

Just caught on the thread after over a month off. (Holiday then lots of visitors, kids sleepovers etc).
But it's back to school next week so this is our week for easing back into routine. So I start the Shred again today.
Floury bap Yes that could work but don'the forget to have rest days.
Freshprincess I mix up between 1kg, 2 kg and 3kg depending on the move.

clearsommespace · 27/08/2017 07:59

Sorry about the typos and Congratulations to all those who've completed!

SoupDragon · 27/08/2017 17:03

I've done another day of RI30 I definitely prefer it to L2 of 30DS. It has a bingo wing exercise!

I plan to get back into it properly when kids are all packed off to school and uni.

clearsommespace · 28/08/2017 09:07

L1D2 Shred complete

9GreenBottles · 28/08/2017 12:58

L1 D5 completed. I did 3/4 of it on Wednesday but my ankle started to twinge in an alarming manner, so I stopped. Today, it has been fine. I can't be doing with all these odd aches and pains now I've hit 50!

Freshprincess I use 1.5kg for everything apart from flies.

clearsommespace · 29/08/2017 07:40

L1 D3
Ouch, I was so stiff this morning before starting. (Strange because I was fine yesterday morning.)

9GreenBottles · 29/08/2017 14:43

L1 D6 complete.

clearsomespace maybe a lag of your muscles starting to stiffen up. I don't think there is sufficient warm up or cool down so I do a bit more to help myself from stiffening up.

clearsommespace · 29/08/2017 18:37

Yes I always extend the cool down. I'll try adding some warm up moves if I am stiff tomorrow.

clearsommespace · 30/08/2017 09:07

L1D4 complete.

9GreenBottles · 31/08/2017 12:03

L1D7 complete. First day that I didn't feel the cardio was going to kill me!

clearsommespace · 31/08/2017 18:49

L1D5 done.

clearsommespace · 01/09/2017 12:06

L1D6 today. Rest tomorrow.

clearsommespace · 03/09/2017 09:15

Level 1 Day 7.
Anyone out there.....?

SoupDragon · 03/09/2017 11:30

I'm hiding because I've done bog all. :)

clearsommespace · 03/09/2017 12:22

Still time to squeeze it in today...

SoupDragon · 03/09/2017 13:48

My children don't need to be subjected to the sight of that...
