30 Day Shred... anyone want to join me?

I started in Feb and managed 25 days or so but got a stinking cold and my whole health kick went down the drain. Think 8lbs heavier now Shock

I started yesterday with Day 1 Level 1 and determined to keep up with it.

I've also started playing tennis again and I'm determined that by my hols in 7 weeks I will be fitting back in my size 12 clothes.

Anyone want to join in with some daily motivation?

I obviously meant a deep squat not a see squat 🤦‍♀️ haha!

SkeletonSkins · 02/08/2017 23:25

Hahaha I thought so!

PhDPepper · 02/08/2017 23:39

I'm literally so stoked by this DVD. I measured my waist last week as I didn't have any measurements and could feel I was getting smaller. Last Tuesday my 'waist' was 56 inches and yesterday I measured it at 46 😃 I'm so happy! It is this DVD that's done it! I've only lost 2 pounds on the scales though :/ but I'm not going to give up x

Rainatnight · 03/08/2017 11:07

Wow, that's fantastic. I measured at the start and dying to do it again but don't want to do it too soon in case there are no results!

SkeletonSkins · 03/08/2017 13:27

Ahhh I should have measured. Think I'll do it now as only on l1d7.

Might have a day off today. Just feel completely worn out so only exercise could be a dog walk haha

SoupDragon · 03/08/2017 14:09

L2 D1.3 (at least my third attempt at D1!)

I managed a whopping 10 half arsed plank twists at a time before collapsing.

IronOrchid · 03/08/2017 15:11

L2 D7 Ripped in 30 done!

10 half-arsed better than 0 can't-be-arsed, Soup! Grin

SoupDragon · 03/08/2017 16:19

:) I usually substitute them with bicycle crunches

babba2014 · 03/08/2017 23:46

I love doing the side lunges.

As for level 2 those cardio planks. I couldn't do them for 9 days. I was in pain too. On day 10 something clicked. So keep trying and if it's hard do the modified version and try a few days later.

SoupDragon · 04/08/2017 06:39

The problem I have them is that my arms give way more than anything else - the cardio part doesn't seem to be so much of an issue. They seem to hurt my right wrist and hand too.

IronOrchid · 04/08/2017 14:44

I did 30 Days of Yoga a while back and learned something that helped me with plank - brace your digits and palms and really press your torso away from the floor to prevent 'crashing' into the hands/wrists. I found I was bearing weight in my back and shoulders rather than arms/wrists. Still knackered me out though!

L3 D1 of Ripped in 30 done.

Bear crawls and duck walks. Ow. Preferred it to L2 though!

PhDPepper · 04/08/2017 14:55

I think I've lost the plot, I did level 1 this morning as it had been a few days, went to the gym and did couch to 5k and then did stage 2 at the gym as I didn't know what else to do. I downloaded it on amazon prime so I have it on my phone.. I definitely feel like I've done a work out now!

SkeletonSkins · 04/08/2017 19:19

I know lots of you are battling with much higher levels but I finally succeeded with those side lunges!!! Bum out, bum out! L1 d7 done hurrah

SkeletonSkins · 06/08/2017 23:13

L1 d8 today hurray

Freshprincess · 07/08/2017 19:27

Level 2 day 10 today! Only 2 rest days, one on each level. In all the many many times I've started this DVD I've only got to level 3 once and I didn't complete it. I'm sort of looking forward to it.
Never managed a walking push up, and squat thrusts hurt my back so I didn't do them properly. Still pretty pleased with myself.

Littlepig8834 · 07/08/2017 22:59

Seasoned shredders, I have a question. I go on holiday in 4 weeks, will doing this DVD from now until then make a difference? And is there a better time of day to do it for maximum effect.

Yes, I know I've left it late, but recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia means I've not been able to exercise as much as I would like but I'm hopeful I can manage 20 mins a day.

SoupDragon · 08/08/2017 09:40

I think it will make a difference if you put the effort in. obviojsly not as much as if you'd been doing it longer but there will be improvement.

I think thetkme of day depends on what is best for you - you are more likely to keep doing it if the time is right for you. I used to find the morning when I got back from the school run suited me best - if I left it later I rarely could be bothered to do it.

Littlepig8834 · 09/08/2017 14:03

Thanks @SoupDragon

Didn't get chance to do it yesterday, DH was out and DD took a while to settle to sleep (damn those back teeth).

Will definitely do today!

IronOrchid · 09/08/2017 17:03

L3 D2 Ri30.

Took an unscheduled four day break due to waking up with achey neck, a weak spot for me.

Did today's workout without weights to see if that would help. Will see what tomorrow brings (lots of ibuprofen probably!).

Littlepig8834 · 09/08/2017 18:04

I did it! L1 D1 - did it all, with a mix of Anita and Natalie, I'm not a fan of that last lunge strength move, can do the arms fine but can't get very deep in the lunge.

Pleased I did it, didn't burn many calories, but it's better than nothing! Hopefully I'll be able to sit on the loo tomorrow without too much pain!

SkeletonSkins · 11/08/2017 12:21

Well done Littlepig! Are you sore now?

I missed a couple of days as my knees were so sore (prob cause I did it one day without wearing trainers, naughty!!) and god it was hard today. Can definitely notice a difference as didn't find it too bad when I last did it. L1d9 done anyway

Littlepig8834 · 11/08/2017 13:37

Skeleton not too sore, a twang in my thighs but I can get up and down without making too much noise.

I did a workout on Fitness Blender last night as my DVD player was playing up. Enjoyed it! Similar to 30DS but lasted longer.

FlyMeToDunoon · 14/08/2017 10:08

I have a seperate thread where Ive asked but come here for advice from the experts.
If I'm over 50, am on my feet all day (retail) and have sore knees is the shred going to suit me or should I do something completely different?

Freshprincess · 14/08/2017 19:08

It is quite tough on the knees. Lots of star jumps, bum kicks and skipping type of cardio and squats for strength. I also run a lot so I don't find it too bad. Perhaps you could find it online and see what you think before you commit to the DVD.

Level 3 day 5 for me. I'm still really struggling with the upper body strength. I can't do more that one proper push up.

IronOrchid · 15/08/2017 13:47

L3 D4 of Ripped in 30.

Neck feeling better, but this level is kicking my butt!
