30 Day Shred... anyone want to join me?

I started in Feb and managed 25 days or so but got a stinking cold and my whole health kick went down the drain. Think 8lbs heavier now Shock

I started yesterday with Day 1 Level 1 and determined to keep up with it.

I've also started playing tennis again and I'm determined that by my hols in 7 weeks I will be fitting back in my size 12 clothes.

Anyone want to join in with some daily motivation?

toastedbeagle those before and after photos look amazing.

FritzyMousey · 24/05/2017 21:57

Finally back on it after a 2 day migraine. Do you guys think level 2 is harder and level 3 harder still or are they all as hard and it's just a matter of building up your tolerance to each new set?

SoupDragon · 24/05/2017 22:39

They are harder IMO! I think they build on what you've managed in the level before. Some of the cardio moves from L1 are done with weights in L3 for example.

toastedbeagle · 25/05/2017 13:43

Yeah I def agree it's a progression. I could barely do 3 push ups (on knees) when i started, I would have never managed those dumbbell plank things (and I vomited once doing them).

Finding it hard to concentrate this week, it feels really selfish and shallow to be thinking about my fitness / bikini body after the events in Manc. I've lived and studied here 18 years and taken my kids to the arena... it's so sickening what has happened. But equally I know that I'm feeling anxiety and I've just come off my antidepressants , and my plan was to manage that with daily exercise. Horrible week.

Hope you guys are all ok xx

Well after successfully doing day 5, I took a day off yesterday and also had a McD's with the kids, and rather too much fizzy wine. Oops. I had a good excuse though.

On an unrelated note, toastedbeagle we've been to the arena too, and have a connection to the area. It's difficult. Exercise can definitely help.

Got to get back on it tonight. Hopefully the rest day will mean my legs are fully up to it again. I agree with the PP that the stretches at the end are not really enough.

FritzyMousey · 25/05/2017 22:47

I really need to ramp it up. Despite starting last week I've only managed 3 last week and 2 so far this week. Thanks for the feedback on the levels, I'm nervous about moving on to level 2 because it hurt my ankles last time. Stupid question, but do you guys wear trainers?

toastedbeagle · 26/05/2017 10:20

Yes def socks and trainers.

FritzyMousey · 26/05/2017 12:00

Ok thanks maybe that's where I've been going wrong for my ankles doing it barefoot, in a tiny space in my bedroom!

hockityponktas · 27/05/2017 12:20

Can I join you?
I've just done Day 5, the pp who named it the quad killer couldn't be more right!
I've never got as far as moving onto level 2Blush

FritzyMousey · 27/05/2017 18:20

I'm stuck on level one too but defo recommend longer stretches at the end, if you count she only does about 15 secs on each stretch, I double it

Designerenvy · 27/05/2017 22:16

Did this a year and a half ago and got great results! Tried day 1 level 1 today and thought I was going to die. I'm so unfit at the moment. Actually thought I was going to vomit today after it .... that's never happened me before ! I'm anno g on doing it maybe 3 time/ 4 times a wk, and do some general aerobics in between to mix it up. Here's hoping !

clearsommespace · 28/05/2017 07:52

Hello. Can I join?
I have been resting a bad ankle for a few months but the docs say I can start impact sport again from tomorrow. I have definitely changed body shape during the resting period. Sad

I did the shred in 2011 with great results. You definitely have to stretch for longer during the cool down.

Designerenvy · 28/05/2017 08:51

I did day 1 yesterday and literally in agony today. . Every muscle aches ! I take that as a good sign but OMG.... maybe ye are right, not enough stretches at the end but I really am very unfit at the moment..... the stairs is a killer this morning !

clearsommespace · 29/05/2017 05:59

It will get better designer and be worth it!

Day 1 Level 1 completed.

hockityponktas · 29/05/2017 10:26

Designer the aches do get better they get worse first.

Just done day 6, I ran yesterday instead and will run tomorrow instead of shred. I get bored of doing both unless I mix them up!
Does anyone have a link to a free level 2?

toastedbeagle · 29/05/2017 22:10

Haven't shredded since last Tuesday, but have played tennis 3 times and been for a run.

Now got a stinking cold, pah. Feel like I need a big hug frankly. Well done to all those who've managed it this week!

@toastedbeagle sympathies Wine
Having a cold in summer sucks.

Right, I am going to do it now and run tomorrow morning.
Eugh

clearsommespace · 30/05/2017 06:13

That's a bummer Toasted. Hope you feel better soon. It should be easier to get back to exercising this time round. It's harder to be motivated in winter.
Day 2, Level 1 completed.
I did loads of extra stretches on my legs yesterday so they weren't too bad but my ouch my upper arms!

clearsommespace · 31/05/2017 06:57

Hope you are feeling better today Toasted

Day 3 Level 1 completed. Already bored in my head but not yet got to the stage where my body is used to the moves.

Has anyone moved up to level 2 yet?

BWatchWatcher · 31/05/2017 07:01

I fear level 2. There are some weird push up things in it. ;(

FritzyMousey · 31/05/2017 08:05

I did Level 2 Day 1 last night but I took it quite easy, defo following Anita, aching today!

hockityponktas · 31/05/2017 08:34

Whoops just seen the link for level 2 had already been posted! ThanksStar
I'm not sure I like the sound of weird push up things, I struggle with ordinary push ups!

clearsommespace · 31/05/2017 10:39

I remember finding those walking push-ups in Level 2 less of a shock to the system than the Nathalie push-ups in Level 1. But I may well be eating my hat in 2 weeks time!

hockityponktas · 31/05/2017 11:04

Walking push ups?! Shock
I think I need to watch level 2 from the safety of the sofa before I attempt itGrin

clearsommespace · 31/05/2017 11:07
Grin Probably defeats the object if you watch with popcorn!
