I just run DoNotBringLulu but I know many people recommend, cross fit, core work, weights. I started fit camp 3 weeks ago to keep a friend company who can't run at the moment and actually enjoyed it so I'm going weekly. It's only once a week so not sure it'll make any difference but while I'm having fun I'll keep it up.

Starting my cunning running summer spelling with Rostrevor. I have some sticky letters ready to add to my analogue tracker, and am surfing Pinterest for suitable cakes.....

Whadddya mean I take this far too seriously? Smile

Nice to see you feet on Saturday. Managed to run / hobble back to Harpo after the stupidly fast parkrun.

How did everyone else's runs go?

We're off to France this summer and would love to do le parkrun francais. How do I find out if there's one near us? We'll be in the southern Alps then the Dordogne (surely there'll be enough Brits to make our own parkrun there!!!???)

Volunteering at Wallace! I have to space out my letters for spelling reasons.....

Have just made a batch of molasses cookies and banana muffins to take along ( so if you're nearby, do pop in!)

reallyneedmoresleep only 9 Parkruns in France

www.parkrun.fr/events/

If you speak enough French to navigate the Francophone site, there is a link (towards bottom right of main intro page) about getting in touch to set one up.

I ran Northampton today. As soon as I started I wanted to drop out. I just found it tough, sore legs, no energy, just wasn't in the right frame of mind. Nearly stopped so many times but I did finish and in not too bad a time but I felt like crying when I crossed the finish line! I think I'm a bit hormonal Blush

teacup Northampton is my home run, it is deceptively hard and always busy. I have had such mixed runs over the years. The fact we have over 600 runners and no cafe for post run mingling makes it a bit strange too. I was not there this week, but give me a shout if you are there again and we can say hello :)

blackcat how was bestwood? That is the closest to my parents and am planning for a visit sometime in the summer holidays. I heard it is a challenge! DS1 did Hucknall juniors today as he is up there with the grandparents.

Been off thread for ages as been unable to run as did my back in. Just starting back now...so might need some encouragement.

However...I may also have recklessly put myself forward to set up Northampton juniors.. .feet, cinners and other experienced RDs I might need to pick your brains!!!

I blame everyone on this thread for being so inspiring over the years Grin

I did my 50th last and I've just been on the website but can't fathom how to get my 50th Tshirt. They've only the peach ones in the shop. Anyone help?
I also want one of those wristband barcode thingies but can't find them either.

standing Bestwood was brutal Shock definitely the toughest parkrun I've done, 2 very steep hills and plenty of other uphill, felt like I climbed way more than I came down but impossible as you start and finish in same place. I've been consistently running sub 25, today I was outside 28 mins Sad

No toilets and the cafe doesn't open til 10am, glad I've done it but don't think I'll be back!

fresh you will get a link in your parkrun profile which will then enable you to order your t-shirt- may take a while though as I don't think they are in stock at moment

@standingonlego that's made me feel better as people always tell me northamptons easy because it's relatively flat! I run Northampton quite regularly and the past few times have found many runners to be quite rude which is a shame. Also on Saturday there was an unaccompanied child going round trying to trip up other runners! It was very near the end and I was too out of puff to say something but he did get a good evil stare. Considering messaging the Facebook page but lots of messages have gone on there recently about different things and they don't seem to make much difference!

Exciting standingonlego! Glad to hear your back is improving.

You will get an email with a link to your club t-shirt Freshprincess but a lot of them are out of stock and they're trying to get people who've been waiting over a year theirs first so you may have a wait.

You did it and that's all that matters Teacupinastorm and you definitely should contact the core team. They may not allow fb messages but you can email them at [email protected]

I had a really good parkrun on Saturday. Not a pb but a real sense of "belonging" for want of a better word.

I nearly tripped over a dog which was not on a lead (not a park run dog) and screamed a little and the lady running next to me had a chat with me about it and we laughed at me for my screaming. Then near the end I was struggling and a lady behind me shouted "nearly there, you can do it" it was just really nice
