Well done, that's definitely one to wear with pride!

Dead proud of myself for getting my 25 Volunteer Purple T-shirt the other day. I didn't bother getting a 50 T a while back as they were low on stock and DS wanted his. So after 6 years of parkrun I finally have a top to wear Smile.

There's always 2 ( possibly 3) times for any run you do.

Gun time-clock starts ticking when the whistle blows, and records the time till you cross finish line.
Chip time-if you have a fancy chip or timer on your run number, it will record when you ACTUALLY cross the start line, till your finish.
Watch time- whenever you Oreos your watch.

Gun time is the official results, so any elite athletes will be at the front of the start line.

I just ran an 8k in under 48mins. I got two times 47.12 and 47.28. Regardless of which one is right I an ecstatic. A year ago I couldn't even run 5k and here I am running 8k. I ran the whole lot apart from the few steps I walked at the water station.
I cant believe how far I have come in a year an it's all thanks to the park run.

Perfect parkrun weather this morning! A lovely atmosphere as we celebrated the anniversary too. Still can’t believe a few months ago I thought I hated running!

Well done Panda. I'm volunteering at my local park run tomorrow. Doing an 8k run on Sunday so resting before that.

I run with DH - he does it in half my time - we have done a number of tourist parkruns, but they sadly all begin with either our home park run or my family home park run. A friend is running her 50th tomorrow, and has flown to Denmark to celebrate!

Well done that panda!

Parkrun's 15th birthday tomorrow. I'm torn between going to my NENDY, or the nearest letter not yet done (for my parkrun alphabet)

I haven't park run for 3 weeks due to university open days with dd. I Jeff the 5k mostly walking with some running. Went for a run tonight, jogged for 10 consecutive mins. Not run for this long since I was a kid. So Chuffed!

The Xmas/NY compendium page has appeared!!

www.parkrun.org.uk/special-events/

It's barely populated so far, but worth keeping an eye on

(also useful for alphabeteers, as it appears to be the current full list)

Well done iblinked

I ran my fastest time today in nearly 4 months, really surprised as it was pretty warm.

Cake in the cafe afterwards...yum!

Today was the 1st anniversary of my local park run. I would love to gotten a P.B just because. My Strava app said I ran in 29.39 but my official park run was 29.41. Just 3 seconds off my P.B.
Still, I am thrilled. I ran the whole lot of it.

Loved Portrush! And i was faster than I expected on the sand. Even had a wee paddle in the freezing sea afterwards. Yummy cake and sausage rolls afterwards for their birthday celebrations

Well done ask on the Pb and well done iblinked it’s a good feeling.

Well done AskMeHow. I didn't get a P.B. but I ran it all in my fasted time yet. 29.47. My P.B is 29.38 but that was walking/running. I am delighted with that. But then again I am always delighted whatever the time. I just love the fact that I got up and did it.

Got a new pb today, 25:46. Very pleased with that. Started going back to parkrun over the last couple of months, having not been for years!

Portrush is legendary, you will have a great time! Check the tide times - I have run it on occasion splashing through the waves.....

Ooooh where in Norn Irn are you heading? I'll be in Copenhagen this weekend, very exotic! But just walking as I broke a metatarsel at the end of July.

Sometime in Jan I will have reached 50 runs.
I joined a running club last week so going to see how it improves my time, although I joined more for the social side.

I’d forgotten about this thread!

I am heading for some parkrun tourism to Northern Ireland this weekend.
Slowly creeping my way towards 100runs and 100 volunteers. Will be next year before I manage that achievement though.

How is everyone else getting on?
