Panic moment, we were running out of room on old thread so started a new one for today's run reports Smile

Cold miserable day at my park run today. I got another PB 31 mins. Getting faster although I am usually wrecked for the rest of the day. Grin

Hi,
I’m on my 12th parkrun, 2nd with DS(11). The first one we did 4 min running followed by 2 min walking but I realised he could manage longer so this time we did 5 mins running with just over 1 min walking and it was fine. He really enjoyed it.

Sorry about link fail....

I think you managed to find the positives there. Finding a good parkrun route is not easy!

MelanieCheeks · 10/02/2019 16:40

I think, if it had been my first experience of parkrun, I wouldn't have been hurrying back. But hey, they can't all be marvellous, eh?

cheminotte · 10/02/2019 18:24

Interesting blog Melanie . Not much ‘park’ by the sounds of it.
I was wondering if it was going to be our new local one ((West Mids).

givemushypeasachance · 15/02/2019 10:31

Any exciting parkrun plans for tomorrow? I'm intending to do a bit of train-based tourism and travel off to a seaside one about 1.5 hours away. Shame the gorgeous sunshine was happening yesterday and today and it's more overcast for tomorrow, but still sounds like an excuse for an ice cream to me.

emummy · 15/02/2019 18:22

Ice cream sounds good! I will be marshalling with ds then hanging over the RD's shoulder to do the results as it's my turn next week!

runningpink · 14/04/2019 21:35

I had completely forgotten about this thread until now!

How is everyone getting on?

Ran at my local parkrun on Saturday (it’s my closest but not my ‘home’ run) and completely surprised myself with my time and I was 2nd female (it was a very small field but still taking that as a win!) my best ever finish position.

Gearing up for Birthday Celebrations at my home run next weekend, cannot wait!

Iblinkedandiamold · 14/04/2019 21:56

I am loving the park run. On a good day I do it in 30mins. I voultenteered for the first time on Saturday. It was freezing cold but it was nice. I was doing the times so it was nice congratulating people crossing the line.

MelanieCheeks · 16/04/2019 16:26

Hello everybody! I just did my 249th parkrun at my 60th different event in bois du boulogne, Paris. I'll be blogging it shortly.

So.....the big 250 this week! I am beyond excited. This has taken me 6 years.

I've stopped being interested in my run times. They are in the 30s, quicker if I have the dog with me, but it's so not about a fast time.

I've started volunteering at juniors on a Sunday morning, which is a lot of fun and very rewarding.

Iblinkedandiamold · 16/04/2019 18:00

Wow congratulations. That's a huge achievement well done.
I have met park run tourists at my local park run. They travel around the country doing park runs. Amazing

MelanieCheeks · 16/04/2019 19:53

Paris!

w33ta8ix · 20/04/2019 06:53

Going to my first park run today. I’m a reasonably experienced runner (I run 3-4 times a week) but have never run as part of a group before. Even though I know I can run 5k, I am ridiculously nervous!

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/04/2019 10:26

I ran the whole thing for the first time. I wasn't aiming for a P.B this time so I slowed down and ran without stopping. Usually I run most of it and walk a little. I am trying to build up my stamina to run 10k on the 2nd of June.
This has become part of routine now. I've been doing it most weekends since October. Really clears my head ready for the day. Grin

AuntieStella · 20/04/2019 13:48

What a range of experience on this thread!

How did the first go?

And how did the 250th?

Standingonlego · 20/04/2019 14:59

Hope everyone enjoyed their parkrun this sunny morning.

DS12 made a rare guest appearance as no hockey training today and laid down a sub 25 min PB...Hmm however I met my “will not stop and run all the way goal” in 33.05

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/04/2019 18:44

Well done standingonlego. (Ouch). That was my goal as well today. Run all the way no walking. I did it too I was delighted.

runningpink · 20/04/2019 19:26

Well done everyone.

I was glad to not be running today as it was so hot. It was our Birthday today so a lovely morning spent celebrating with the best.

Iblinkedandiamold · 20/04/2019 20:33

I got my results. I did my Park run in just under 32mins. Clearly I didn't slow down too much as my PB is 29 mins and something seconds. Happy with my run today. Grin

w33ta8ix · 20/04/2019 21:36

First parkrun went well. A shade over 24 mins. I was 71/236, but the 4th female which has got me very chuffed.

(The fastest chap lapped me. He did it in 17 mins!)

Standingonlego · 20/04/2019 21:40

Brilliant first run w33ta8ix and well done the rest of us! We rock Grin

My DD11 did her 51st parkrun today and her red shirt arrived when we got home. So proud of her - Pb of 24:34 😊😊😊

Iblinkedandiamold · 21/04/2019 00:04

Oh well done everyone. Love reading all the post. Well done to your DD CatyaPurella. This was my 23rd park run....I think.
