Yesterday I went rowing for the first time in over a decade. I can really feel it in my shoulders this morning, so I'm going to count it as an exercise session.

RJ, I would absolutely count that! Glad your holiday is great. Jealous of your rowing Oub. Did 5k run this morning.

RJnomore1 · 26/06/2017 08:31

I love rowing. It's really hard work though.

Ok the trek in the heat brings me to

Off on a bus trip around menorca today but I'm planning a gym session when I get back. Problem is I keep having wine with lunch 😬 Then that's the idea of training gone!

KanyesLunchbox · 26/06/2017 10:30

Were you rowing on a machine or water, Oubliette? I quite liked the rowing machine when I hurt my leg earlier in the year. My niece rows in open water - very brave!

Your holiday sounds very active RJ!

I had a family thing at the weekend with 6+ hours of driving so I only managed a short run on sat morning. Dd (7) was with me so we didn't 3.5k to practice for our 5k in 2 weeks. She was literally running rings around me...to kick me in the bum to go faster Hmm Grin

RJnomore1 · 26/06/2017 11:15

I have just discovered there is a gin distillery in Mahon the gym session may be off the cards...

KanyesLunchbox · 26/06/2017 12:20

Gin definitely trumps gym!

OublietteBravo · 26/06/2017 20:30

I was rowing on water Kanye on the river in Oxford - I was at bow in an VIII (although rowing on stroke side - the VIII was bow-rigged).

Other than the rowing, I've not had a great weekend exercise wise. My parents were visiting, and they seem to need a lot of entertaining rather like having a couple of toddlers around

First Jillian session since Thursday this evening: 30DS L2D9? & 6W6P L1.

We only have a few pages left of this thread. We're almost halfway through the year. Shall we have a new thread for July?

Did my half marathon yesterday. Not last and around 2.40 is all I know of results. Rest day today - hobbling somewhat... mostly due to blisters just behind the balls of my feet, possibly from sock wrinkles.

Interesting last week of prep - running tights split on club run leading to horrific chub rub so did exactly nothing.

But that wasn't why I was disappointed with my time - I had a heart rate plan and pace plan which I ignored completely for the first 5k - trying to stay on the back of the pack! Added to the undulations of the course being down at the beginning, marginally up for the next 15k then down for the last three meant the middle was tough. I was wondering what had possessed me to enter it and had to work hard to restrain a foul mouthed tirade in front of the young marshall when I turned the corner to see yet another uphill stretch!

Tomorrow I start more work on upper body strength for total warrior

KanyesLunchbox · 26/06/2017 22:43

Sounds idyllic Oubliette (the rowing, not your parents! In that I can sympathise, my mum was the same at the weekend.)

Well done, Random! I couldn't even contemplate a half so anyone who finishes is amazing in my book.

I was very annoyed that it is raining too heavily to manage a run so I went ti the gym and did a lot of weights, core and kettle bells. I am on tenterhooks and needed to burn off some of my nervous energy. My very best friend is being induced with her high risk pregnancy. I will have to complain to her that her being a drama lama will have my thighs in bits tomorrow Grin

KanyesLunchbox · 27/06/2017 18:08

It was still.pouring rain early and by lunchtime it was baking hot, so I went for a walk instead of a run. 5km.

OublietteBravo · 27/06/2017 19:04

It's raining here too Kanye I'm jealous of RJ who is no doubt somewhere hot and sunny enjoying her holiday.

It's also 15C cooler than it was this time last week. So I did cardio: BFBM

The gin won the other day. I'm in Majorca now and it's over 30 degrees - just done a weights session upper body stuff and I am dying. Don't be jealous.

OublietteBravo · 28/06/2017 19:12

15C here today, damp, northerly wind. Feels like autumn.

Good for exercising without overheating though: NMTZ

Gin should always win, RJ!

We're having the same weather, Oubliette - I got sunburned yesterday and am wearing a wool jumper today! It finally stopped raining so I went for a run, a verrry slow 6.25k. Still, I suppose it was faster than sitting on my arse

OublietteBravo · 29/06/2017 19:12

I finally finished L2 of 30DS this evening. Seems to have taken me ages to get this far (although I've been doing other DVDs too I suppose). Also did half of 6W6P L1.

Abortive run today. Took hayfever pill too soon before for it to have any effect so couldn't breathe. Had to go for a walk with DH and DD instead. Might manage a DVD last thing once I've packed for the weekend!

RJnomore1 · 02/07/2017 17:50

Kinda lost you guys.

Went for a bike ride today and I'm claiming it as although it was only about 7k it's the first time I've cycled in at least a decade. I sobbed quietly along the beach while I tried to avoid small children and German tourists.

130/120

OublietteBravo · 02/07/2017 18:10

Oops - I forgot to record 6W6P L1 yesterday morning. Rest day today (it's birthday weekend in the Bravo household - DH today, DD tomorrow).

Happy birthdays Bravos! 🎂

I was wildly undisciplined for the last few days and work and beer family stuff got in the way of exercising. I'm going to go for a run after the monsters are in bed.

OublietteBravo · 04/07/2017 20:00

Hmmm - I seem to have had a poor start to July. My thigh felt really sore on Saturday, so I took both Sunday and Monday as rest days. Just done NMTZ - thigh feeling totally normal.

KanyesLunchbox · 05/07/2017 21:48

Haven't had a great start either, oubliette, although I had another fucking migraine for the last couple of days which didn't help my motivation. I ran to and from the gym tonight. It was packed there so didn't get to do as much as I planned, but better than sitting on the couch!

RJnomore1 · 05/07/2017 21:51

Shall we restart July from tomorrow?? 😬

KanyesLunchbox · 05/07/2017 22:09

How about August? Grin

OublietteBravo · 05/07/2017 22:20

Yes. Let's try again from tomorrow (another rest day for me today - I had to go to sports day)
