Upped my Kettlebell weight for my fitness class tonight. Feel slightly ill. Legs not working terribly well from yesterday. Tomorrow will be a joy.

Kanye my youngest has what I call an "arsey bum"- when she gets annoyed you can tell from her bum as she walks away. I've never seen anyone else's manage to be quite as eloquent with their backside but I am now imagining you rage walking with your arsey bum!

LordPeterWimsey · 11/04/2017 18:59

Yoga Meltdown L1 done. Grin at arsey bum - I suspect I have one of those too. For a repressed English woman I'm quite physically expressive!

DeliciousIrony · 11/04/2017 21:36

Nice to see you back LordPeter Smile I'm on track to finish Body Rev this Friday, and can't wait...

Very impressed at doing any JM on holiday Oub, make sure you get some relaxing done as well!

randomsabreuse · 12/04/2017 12:19

Very impressive doing exercise on holiday. I always have good intentions then find an excuse (last time was people might hear me...)

Having been dire at doing yoga I am having a play with Adriene's Yoga Revolution as my daily stretch thing. It's a bit "omm" but it's free and it has 31 days so I can "progress" through it.

Making progress and ticking things off seems to be good for my motivation and I need all the help I can get!

Did core work this morning with 20mo around. Plank is more fun when you're being pelted with the contents of the ball pit...

OublietteBravo · 12/04/2017 17:03

6W6P L1 today. The weather is getting hotter. Which means the effort I put in seems to be diminishing... Still counting it though!

Killer Abs L1 done. I agree with you about needing to make progress and tick things off, random, but somehow even that isn't motivating me to get on with the last two weeks of Body Rev! I quite like Adriene: she makes me feel a bit less inadequate than any of the real-life yoga teachersI've encountered.

Run after work with my colleague. We are up to week 5 run 2 on couch to 5k and going strong. My left leg is still really really tight though which is a pain.

LordPeterWimsey · 13/04/2017 18:16

Yoga Meltdown L2 done. I'm never going to be able to do a wheel push-up, and I'm anxious about breaking my neck trying.

randomsabreuse · 13/04/2017 18:45

Short run, managed to keep most of it in "easy" zone which is quite an achievement for me, followed by squats, abs, plank, push ups and yoga.

Am crap at yoga as seriously unsupple. Won't be trying any JM yoga for a while... can barely do normal push ups.

Ought to start playing with pull up bar (jump and lower/hanging for starters). Might wait for a couple of weeks of general exercises before getting too specific...

Metafit. Rather unenthuasiastic meta fit but still it's done.

I really need to know what a wheel push up is. Off to google.

LordPeterWimsey · 13/04/2017 21:27

Actually JM's pretty unsupple too, random - she depends on a seriously strong and flexible side-kick for the advanced moves, and I take some comfort from being able to do most of it as well as she can - but she can do a wheel push-up because she obviously has much stronger arms and shoulders than I do. (It's a reverse push-up, RJ, going up to a back-bend with head off the ground and then down again to the floor. It's evil.)

randomsabreuse · 13/04/2017 21:31

She's much more supple than me! The warm down stretches in 30ds proved that - and I can't reach my toes... so have to adapt things...

RJnomore1 · 13/04/2017 22:37

I've seen it. On you tube.

What's the point of it? Serious question - what is it intended to do? It looks risky to me .

RJnomore1 · 14/04/2017 10:10

I hate hypertrophic training with a vengeance.

I need to shower but I doubt I can lift my arms to wash right now.

Killer Abs L3 done, and horrible it was too - clapping mountain climbers, forsooth. At least I've managed to climb back on the wagon this week - 5 JM workouts done.

RJ, I don't know the answer, and it's one of the reasons I'm avoiding moving on to Body Rev weeks 11 and 12. (I slightly maligned Yoga Meltdown: she asks you to do a wheel and hold it, which is a perfectly standard yoga move, though I still can't get the crown of my head off the floor. The modification is a bridge, which is perfectly do-able. The wheel push-up is in Body Rev workout 12, and the modification is pretty minor - you still need to be able to get into a wheel pose.) It seems to me to be too risky to be worth it for the gains in strength you might get by doing it.

RJnomore1 · 14/04/2017 11:53

I had to look up clapping mountain climbers too - I've done clapping push ups which are similar and I can see a purpose in them, that explosive energy in the jump would really raise your heart rate etc. I'm struggling with wheel press ups - I'm really worried that moves like that are in do yourself at home stuff! The possibility of injury must be high and I'm struggling, like you lord peter, to see what it adds to training that couldn't be done in safer ways.

If you're a big yoga person perhaps, mind you!

RJnomore1 · 15/04/2017 14:23

Bit of a half assed attempt at Thai class today, I did itvthough, probably should have had a day off but I needed to get the angst out - uni work due Tuesday plus dd and dh have fallen out 🙄

Hello all, happy Easter! Did a slowish 5k run this morning.

We are at my parents for Easter and this is one of the few places I genuinely love going for a run. I grew up round here so it is fab to have time on my own to meander round my childhood places Smile.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 16/04/2017 13:57

RJ, hope your weekend has improved.

RJnomore1 · 16/04/2017 14:15

It has thanks stressy. Your run sounds lovely.

77/173 after MMA circuits this morning. Love a bit of ground and pound on the mannequin.

OublietteBravo · 16/04/2017 17:33

Happy Easter everyone!

I finally motivated mysel to exercise again: 6W6P L1.

It's really going to hurt when I get back home to my weights on Tuesday!

Happy chocolate day everyone!

Bad week for exercise with the kids on holidays and a wedding yesterday, but I just managed 6k.

Hope your weekend improved RJ.

RJnomore1 · 17/04/2017 10:08

Leg day. I am not getting any fonder of this hypertrophic stuff. I almost crawled in from the car there.

Hope you all have lovely things planned for the bank holiday.

Body Rev workout 11 done. I'll do workout 12 later this week and then I think I'm not going to do workouts 11 and 12 again - there's a three-part push-up in workout 11 that I can't see myself ever being able to do because it hurts my wrists too much, and workout 12 has the wheel push-up that I daren't even attempt in case I break my neck in the process. I somehow feel I've cheated if there's a move in a workout that I haven't done at all. I'm going to alternate the Killer Abs workouts with Yoga Meltdown for a week or two and then have a crack at Bodyshred.

Hope everyone had a good long weekend. Ours was good till today, which was blighted by DD's homework.

DeliciousIrony · 17/04/2017 18:13

Happy Easter everyone! I did the final workout of Body Revolution on Good Friday...at least, I'm counting that as the final workout, although I realised that the diary that comes with it says 'week 12 - 13' so I suppose you are supposed to repeat the final week to make the 90 days? I'm not doing it though, I'm ready for a break from Body Rev. I also can't do the wheel push-up move...I sort of hold wheel as she suggests, but I agree it doesn't feel terribly safe.

I've decided to put Bodyshred on hold until June and do a few weeks of random JM workouts instead, and try to do a run once a week with DP. Had the weekend off for Easter as I've been away, eating chocolate....

I definitely feel stronger for having done Body Revolution, but my body is slow to change and I think I need to bite the bullet and up my game to shred some fat. I've just bought some new scales and realised that I am heavier than I thought, and also dug out the dress that I was planning to wear to a wedding soon (last worn 4 years ago), and it's too tight to zip up . I reckon I need to lose at least an inch off my back to get into it again...not sure whether to try and do a drastic crash diet over the next 2.5 weeks or just buy another dress!
