Bad week last week...dh and I were both travelling and then we got a dose of the pukes in the house. I did 8km and a couple of YouTube videos. No energy tonight but I did 5km. I'm finding getting back to running really hard. I'm thinking about going back to the c25k programme, right back to basics to try to regain some stamina.

75km

LordPeterWimsey · 14/03/2017 07:11

I've been forgetting to post on here because I'm off the rest of MN for Lent. I'm back on the bike - knee seems better. I've finished with Body Rev workouts 7 and 8 and I'm about to move on to workouts 9 and 10 from tomorrow (Delicious, we'll be on the same workouts from next week!) Being cowardly I wanted to start them mid-week so that I only have to do them once before the weekend comes.

Well done everyone else for sticking with it. Kanye, you're amazing doing 5 km in spite of the lack of energy.

RJ, I would give a lot to get any kind of high after exercise: it's all such a tedious slog and I just have to keep the very long term aims in mind. How are you doing on the clean eating? I was doing OK and then succumbed to quantities of crisps yesterday.

blodynmawr · 14/03/2017 07:30

Still KBFFing plus I fitted in a few walks on the weekend, thanks to the better weather Smile.
Well done everyone keeping up routines - you are all inspirational Star.

OublietteBravo · 14/03/2017 19:41

Still ploughing through Ri30 - L4D4 this evening and then half of 6W6P to take me up to 50 min.

As I left on the 8.15 train this morning and I'm just on the train home now I guess today is my rest day this week.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 14/03/2017 20:53

Hi all, 5k runs today and yesterday. Ankle really felt it today though. Planned rest days tomorrow and Thursday.

randomsabreuse · 15/03/2017 11:51

My ankle is still grumbling if I do anything beyond walking but I can walk up hills at least. So I've been sulking too and eating junk and not bothering with exercise I can do which is rubbish.

Must get back in the habit of doing something even if it's just a few squats and sit ups.

Really want to get on with running and trying for a late may half marathon.

OublietteBravo · 15/03/2017 18:53

Cardio this evening - BFBM. Not sure if I'll fit anything in tomorrow. I have to go and watch DS in the final of the school composition competition from 18:30-20:00. I may very well choose wine over exercise Grin

That's annoying, random. Is it just running that aggravates your ankle? I have really lost heart at the moment, but I've realised that some medication I'm on might be making my malaise worse. I'm going to talk to the go about stopping it and see if I feel any more energetic. Anyway, I have to go to buy some green t-shirts for the children (st Patrick's day parties at school tomorrow and last year's have gone astray) so I'm going to walk to the shopping centre later to get them, about 6k.

Oubliette - dare I ask what a composition competition is??

OublietteBravo · 15/03/2017 19:30

They compose and play their own music in small groups (they are given a theme to work with). This is the 3rd consecutive year DS's group have made the final. It's a bit of an ordeal. I think his theme is 'poetry' and his composition is called 'clouds'

Wow, that sounds amazing, he must be very good. I will admit, I was fearing youthful limericks

OublietteBravo · 15/03/2017 20:00

At least this year the kid who plays the basoon is in a different group. Trombone and bassoon (plus various percussion instruments) was an intetesting combination.

Biked to work and back, and did Body Rev workout 9. Yesterday was a bit rubbish: I did a couple of the 10 Minute Body Transformations workouts as I didn't have time for Body Rev, but I was phoning it in. Jillian would not be pleased.

Very impressed, Oubliette! Hope it's good, but I can see that you might deserve wine afterwards. DD's music school insists everyone plays in an ensemble as soon as they pass Grade 1, and then there's a concert at the end of every term. That's quite an ordeal too.

blodynmawr · 17/03/2017 07:51

Still KBFFing.
My two only learned the trumpet for about a year in primary before they decided it was not for them, so I never had to endure any recitals....
The brighter mornings these days are really helping motivation first thing Smile.

RJnomore1 · 17/03/2017 10:14

Works been mad. 12/13 hour days so no training since Monday. Pt today and back on it before I lose the plot.

It's just end of financial year isn't it, always the same.

OublietteBravo · 17/03/2017 18:46

NMTZ for me this evening.

DS's school seem very keen on music. They give them taster lessons in violin, woodwind (flute or clarinet) and brass (trumpet or trombone), and then encourage the promising ones to keep going. DS has just passed grade 2 trombone.

DD plays the piano - which seems much calmer and more melodious.

Biked to work and back and did Body Rev workout 10 today. Workout 10 is the pits: she's really keen on lots of jump exercises in this one (jumping lunges, jumping squats, rock star jumps with weights) and my poor knees hate it. Weirdly workout 9 is OK: normally I find the front-of-body workouts harder.

So this week I've done Body Rev workouts 8, 9 and 10, and done three of the 10MBT workouts, plus biking to work and back twice. Which means I've made my target for the first week in a little while.

RJnomore1 · 17/03/2017 19:43

53/197

Vicious sets of farmers walks to end with.

RJnomore1 · 17/03/2017 19:44

My youngest is learning the cornet 😩

randomsabreuse · 18/03/2017 06:52

I'm planning to get DD to play something "easy" to get into ensembles on rather than easy on the ears - so strings, percussion or brass rather than flute given the price of the more obscure woodwind instruments...

I was directed towards flute as parental torture on really starts around G5 when the top register kicks in...

randomsabreuse · 18/03/2017 06:59

Back on it finally - squats, abs and a couple of 30 day work out challenges started - restarted 30 day fat burn and started a riding specific workout by Eventfit, which was challenging.

Going to try a short run today - DH on call so will have to loop around the block rather than go further afield. Basically have to warm up, put deep heat on my calf and stretch after a short while then stretch cooling down and post shower. Fingers crossed I (a) get an opportunity to run and (b) can remember what my running gait should be like!

OublietteBravo · 18/03/2017 08:43

Just a short session today: Killer Abs L1. Making up for missing Thursday by exercising on my usual rest day. I need to keep on top of it at the moment because I have holiday coming up (and I'm not planning on exercising quite so much while I'm away).

Turns out stopping taking beta blockers cold turkey isn't a good idea, so I felt a bit unwell the last few days Blush back to pill popping (weaning now) so I had a 4.5km walk this morning. Holding to do some weights tonight.

Off somewhere nice on holidays, Oubliette? We finally booked for Spain in August. I can't wait!

OublietteBravo · 18/03/2017 13:54

Majorca for 10 nights over Easter (mainly because it only takes 5 days of annual leave, and it meant we only had to arrange childcare for a week). I haven't even begun to contemplate the summer holidays yet.

Welllll someone stayed up too late drinking wine last night and as a result I've not moved off the couch.

Might do a run later will see. Waster.
