Biked to work, so provided I get Body Rev workout 8 done before Sunday I'm on target for this week (amazingly considering how low my motivation is!). Delicious, looking forward to seeing what you think of workouts 5 and 6.

This thread is great for encouragement: I think without it I'd have had a complete failure to exercise for the last two or three weeks. EatSpam, pleased to hear you're feeling a difference.

DeliciousIrony · 11/02/2017 17:57

Body Rev Cardio 1 done, for the last time, hurray. And I did a brisk 5.5 mile walk, so not a bad effort for me for a Saturday.

RJnomore1 · 11/02/2017 19:33

The thread is great. It's great to see what everyone else is doing and to have somewhere to keep a record of my own activity, and have a wee chat/moan too.

Did some more kettlebell training today and finished up with 5km of static cycle sprints. I'm sore from the last three days but I feel good. I took a photo of me side on with my gym leggings and sports bra and compared it to one I took in late November and I look so much better. Sent it to one of my trainers I was so pleased.

I've picked my final weights for next week too after much faffing.

I had a rest day today, but still managed to clock up over 10,000 steps.

Body Rev workout 8 done. No more Jillian for a week - hurrah! Off on holiday this afternoon.

Oubliette, I got a step counter a few weeks ago and was cheered to see that most days I do over 10,000 steps not counting either my workout DVDs or my bike rides to work. I think my base level of activity must be reasonably high.

RJnomore1 · 12/02/2017 11:49

MMA training and week 2 of couch to 5k done.

KanyesVest · 12/02/2017 12:41

Gym this morning, 25 mins on the rowing machine and 15 on the bike. I really hate the gym. Taking ds swimming later.

I'd love to have 10k steps baseline. I feel like I'm on my feet all day but I rarely get to 10k without a concerted effort.

RJnomore1 · 12/02/2017 17:47

I'm having urges to go train again. Two reasons - been to see my mum and she still won't get out of bed after her heart attack and also I'm stressed now I haven't done enough for next weekend. However all the gyms are closed and I don't have a decent sized kettlebell to train with. Tempted to get the trx out and head to the park in the dark.

It would be over training at this point though.

KanyesVest · 12/02/2017 18:19

Sounds very stressful RJ. Could you go for a walk instead? Feel like you're doing something without over training?

DeliciousIrony · 12/02/2017 18:24

RJ Flowers Maybe a good brisk walk or something to clear your head without overtraining? It is bloody dark, cold and miserable here though so maybe not the best idea, I haven't managed to venture outside for more than a trip to the supermarket...

I need to start using my pedometer again, I had a good phase in the summer where I was doing around 12 - 16k per day, but I have since moved work offices to a place that is approximately a 90 second walk from where I live, which is massively convenient but doesn't do anything for my activity levels during the day...I've not dared wear it since because I know it will be nowhere near 10k.

Did Body Rev workout 5 today, so glad to have moved to phase 2. It wasn't too bad but I cannot get all the way to touching the floor with the one-legged squats no matter what...I'm also getting a lot of ache from my upper back from a workout the other day, which I hope vanishes before tomorrow.

Enjoy your holiday and well-earned break, LordPeter!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 12/02/2017 18:24

RJ, I've held back from saying anything as I am careful about giving advice on line but I'm a HCP - is she scared about having another heart attack do you think? Is there a specific reason she won't get out of bed or does she think it's the best thing to do? Is she back at home now? Has she seen cardiac rehab? Any kind of cardiac nurses? She will have been advised to get moving gently unless there is a real reason not to. Sometimes there are specific exercise classes for people after they have a heart attack which give reassurance about what exercise to do.

Kanye's idea about a walk is good. Planned rest days for me this weekend. Half term next weekend so am being realistic and planning exercise twice next week.

OublietteBravo · 12/02/2017 18:29

Back to Jillian today - NMTZ.

Just realised RJ that was a lot of questions about your mum Blush. Obviously you don't have to answer any of them, they were just thoughts I had. Hope she feels better soon.

blodynmawr · 13/02/2017 07:16

KBFF done.
Quiet weekend, did a walk Saturday and a rest day yesterday.

Tsotofamily · 13/02/2017 15:04

I've only managed dog walks since w2r2 of c25k last Thursday, been back at work and my knee has been playing me up but going out to do w2r3 later

randomsabreuse · 13/02/2017 16:02

Still suffering from calf/ankle thing. Suspect it could be back related as same hamstring also has a big knot. Physio on thurs but going to have to take DD - probably will put her in portable high chair as room is upstairs...

Plus side upper back problem has settled so will do some upper body weights tonight.

OublietteBravo · 13/02/2017 18:58

I'm still not enjoying Ri30 L3. It's annoyingly short and painful. I did half if 6W6P L1 too, and still only clocked up 50 min.

Hi guys thank you all so much.

Stressy my mum is back home, she seems to think she's been told not to do anything still (that's three weeks). She has fibromyalgia and they've told her she needs to be pain free to keep her stress down which to her means don't move not manage the pain. She was sat in bed with all the windows bolted shut and it was stifling I felt ill in an hour there. I got her through to the living room which is honestly ten steps but she thinks she shouldn't be doing anything, she's lost loads of muscle tone in two weeks and I think she's just sat down to wait to die to be honest. She's 69, my granny was 89 when we lost her, my dads mum is 98, she's not even near old by our family standards. No rehab been near yet just very sympathetic gps telling her to take it easy. I know she must over do it but I'm worried.

Anyway last session with my technical coach before Sunday's competition , it's all coming together now, I can do this. I know I can. I put music on and danced round the kitchen last night cooking to get that nervous energy out. It was good 😬

You're all doing great the motivation to keep doing DVDs is amazing, I need to book into things and train with people for accountability so I don't just sit watching tv. Wish I had half your commitment you lot.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 13/02/2017 19:20

Ah ok, the fibromyalgia complicates things but it sounds as if she has been told not to do any exercise but as you say, she is taking this to mean don't get out of bed. Probably they mean still potter around but take it very easy. Patients very often translate this to doing nothing at all. No easy answers to that as you know (especially as you never quite know the full story as a relative). If she has access to cardiac rehab it is really very good. The British heart foundation also has good advice, a good website and a helpline. I would be surprised if she has really been told she cannot walk around the house - it is far more likely she has in fact been told to move around the house as normal but take it very easy. I really cannot give proper advise through as of course I do not know your mum. If she is really doing nothing at all though I would see if she has any contact details for cardiac rehab and if so give them a ring.

Back to the thread... nothing today! Will manage two days this week somehow!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 13/02/2017 19:27

Sorry just seen you said no rehab. Sometimes they do leave them some details in hospital so it would be worth checking if they left a card. If not it may be a case of waiting until her 6 week appointment. If GP is sympathetic I would ring them - they will not be able to discuss her care but may be able to listen (they may not - depends on confidentiality policy) - there is a clear difference between taking it easy and doing nothing. Although you are right to be worried it may be that there is not much you can do. I will back off now and leave you to it!

OublietteBravo · 14/02/2017 19:17

I decided to have a bit of a change tonight, so I dug out Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism. I think I'm going to ache tomorrow - I'd forgotten it was all kicking and cardio.

RJnomore1 · 14/02/2017 21:19

Thanks stressy. I'm threatening to put her in a wheelchair and take her out if I go round next time and she's sat in bed with all the windows locked. I have teenagers to worry about ffs!

Kettlebell fitness tonight. Last heavy workouts before Sunday. I think I'll do a small kettlebell session tomorrow, metafit on Thursday and a couch to 5k on Friday then Saturday off so I'm fresh.

RJnomore1 · 14/02/2017 21:22

I'm going to ask you all a favour too; I want to really commit to 90 days clean eating and high protein (one cheat day a week) from 1st march to see if I can get the muscles out do you mind if I count that on here too?

blodynmawr · 15/02/2017 07:37

KBFF done today and yesterday.
The winter/Christmas podge seems to have been dealt with now and my clothes don't feel tight anymore Smile. I don't workout to look good but it is a handy added bonus!
That's an impressive goal RJ, goo luck with it! My idea of clean eating is just cutting out all Gin!

DeliciousIrony · 15/02/2017 07:45

Of course RJ, good luck to you (and your mum).

I had a rest day on Monday as I just felt completely rubbish and run down, which I still did yesterday but managed to force myself to do Body Rev workout 6 (although I think I phoned it in a bit). ARGH at the weighted supermans, I only have 2kgs and 3kgs and definitely need something lighter for those. Otherwise not too bad.
