Come and join us in our attempt to do 30 min exercise as often as possible.

Set yourself a target (e.g. 5 days a week, 20 days a month, etc.). Any kind of exercise counts: walking, running, swimming, cycling, dancing - or any other activity that expends energy.

A bit cloudier today, but still warm (27C). Exercise wise I did 6W6P L1 in a lovely air conditioned room

I'm seriously jealous, oubliette, it was properly wintery here today. Beautiful crisp sunshine but a wind that was direct from the north pole.

My ankles were feeling very wobbly yesterday so I sat on my arse had a day off. I went for a run at lunchtime today. Only 4km but a bit faster than recently and very cathartic after a terrible morning in the office. Never thought I'd see the day that I'd go for a run instead of diving into a giant bar of chocolate as stress relief!

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 18/10/2016 18:14

That's great Kanye (not the rubbish morning obviously but the stress relief), I used to see running as stress relief, maybe I will again one day! Finished work unexpectedly early today so was able to do 30 day shred level 2.

OublietteBravo · 18/10/2016 18:15

I did Killer Abs L1 in an attempt to counteract all the food I've eaten today.

Just in from my Kettlebell class tonight, woop woop, I bought a kilo 😳 Of the most amazing fudge in the world yesterday so must keep training...

LordPeterWimsey · 18/10/2016 20:56

Oubliette, I'm very envious. It's wet and miserable here, though getting gradually a bit better, and I ate DD's leftover pasta for my supper when I got in from work.

I failed to get up this morning (again) but have done the cardio section of Davina Fit in 15 this evening, plus some stretching, and I'll cycle to work and back tomorrow.

OublietteBravo · 19/10/2016 19:01

Cooler and cloudier today - especially this afternoon. Rain forecast for tomorrow.

6W6P L1 this evening.

LordPeter I sympathise with sleeping through alarms. It is so miserable dragging yourself out of bed in the mornings.

5k run this morning. Felt knackered though, ankle sore and could feel the beginnings of shin splints. Definite rest day tomorrow.

LordPeterWimsey · 19/10/2016 21:53

2 hours cycling today (to and from work, so moderate pace and a few hills). Really knackered and wish I were in Spain! TooStressy, hope a rest day makes the ankle and shins feel better.

KanyesVest · 19/10/2016 22:30

Oh, shin splints sound painful stressy.

I just did 6km. I walked more than I planned/wanted, but I'm feeling very leaden today.

OublietteBravo · 20/10/2016 19:10

No sun today Sad

Managed to do Kilker Abs L1, so still keeping the exercise routine on track bloody good job as I've eaten way more than usual this week.

Metafit today!

Weights session with my PT tomorrow. Looking forward to it.

LordPeterWimsey · 21/10/2016 07:07

I am a disaster area. Till September I was doing really well, getting up nearly every weekday morning to exercise (and had been for two or three years, so thought I'd really fixed the habit). These last two or three weeks have been a complete fail. I'm going to cycle to work today, having done nothing yesterday, and will try to get something done over the weekend: then on Monday I really need to try to focus on getting up in the mornings!

RJ, I'm wondering about a PT as I'm failing to motivate myself: do you mind if I ask how much you pay yours and how you found them?

RJnomore1 · 21/10/2016 08:21

I have a few 😳

One is the manager of the gym I go to, I see him ad hoc for a session when I need a kick or if I'm really focusing I will try to see him once a week for conditioning and cardio (specialises in Thai boxing) and he is £25 a hour. It's hard to get times with him that fit around my job though.

I see a girl for strength training who I met when she covered a circuit class I used to do, I knew I would like her way of training, she's a bodybuilder and although I don't do that we do the lifts and she's really getting me charging through weights. I block book her and will see her once or twice a week, depending on what block I buy abd what offer she has it's £18-20 an hour roughly.

And I go further afield to a pt for technique coaching for my sport about every 4-6 weeks and she's £30.

Basically I find people I get on with who are pretty much top of their game and have a good reputation locally/ well qualified. Don't be afraid to try a few and see where there's a good fit. Also I'm in Scotland so it seems a bit cheaper than I've seen other people quote on here.

OublietteBravo · 21/10/2016 18:35

Last day of my holiday - back to being warm and fairly sunny. This evening's exercise was 6W6P L1.

I'm having a rest day tomorrow - I have a horribly early start, a flight back to the UK, and a train journey home. Then I have to get the kids packed and drive them to Shropshire as they are at PGL next week. I've decided exercise just isn't going to be possible.

Well, I did manage to cycle to work and back. So all in I've done about five hours of exercise this week. Less than I planned, and less intense than I planned, but possibly I shouldn't beat myself up too much.

LordPeterWimsey · 21/10/2016 20:30

Sorry, meant to say thank you, RJ. I'm in London, so I fear it would be a bit more expensive for me.

KanyesVest · 22/10/2016 13:32

Finally got to do something today (another migraine is finally over), a 5km run to pick up something with 2km walk back.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 23/10/2016 11:10

Hi all, had a couple of rest days then managed to walk into some of DH's weights that he left onto the floor - banged my dodgy ankle (twice, grrr) on the hard metal bit. Now it's swollen and sore and will have to ice it tonight. You couldn't make it up! Had hoped to go for run tonight but may need to leave that now. Hopefully back on it next week.

OublietteBravo · 23/10/2016 18:46

Ouch Stressy - that sounds very painful!

I'm now back in the UK and trying to get used to the drop in temperature. Back in front of my own TV tonight - just completed Killet Abs L1.

No kids this week (they are at PGL), so I should have a bit more time. I really must try and re-discover NMTZ.

MMA training this morning. I am a bit sore tonight. I might have Wednesday off training is that acceptable?

Out I need to ask - what are the numbers at the bottom of your posts for?

OublietteBravo · 23/10/2016 19:14

RJ At the beginning of 2016 I set myself a target of exercising on 300 days. The numbers track my progress against this long-term goal. So today's number (241/59) signifies that I've completed 241 days, and that I've got another 59 days to go to meet my target.

OP posts:
RJnomore1 · 23/10/2016 19:29

Oh wow that is fantastic. I am nowhere near that! I am impressed. At least I am on target now with the training. It has been a really difficult year and I have realised i have to do things that make me feel good, and shifting a big huge weight or hitting something hard makes me feel good.

Ive been on top of things for about four week and over the weekend I wore a jumper I bought in May which was too tight at the time, so it is doing something.

KanyesVest · 23/10/2016 20:42

Sunday lunch at mum's today, so I would have keeled over if I tried anything strenuous. I just managed a 4km walk though.

Hope you're not in shiver shock Oubliette!

LordPeterWimsey · 24/10/2016 06:48

OK, getting back on track - no formal exercise over the weekend but quite a lot of walking with DH and DD, and this morning I've done KA&B L1. Aiming to try the other two levels this week and see what they're like. I hoped to cycle to work today but it's raining at the moment, so probably won't happen.
