Come and join us in our attempt to do 30 min exercise as often as possible.

Set yourself a target (e.g. 5 days a week, 20 days a month, etc.). Any kind of exercise counts: walking, running, swimming, cycling, dancing - or any other activity that expends energy.

Delicious, let me how you get on with Bodyshred: I got it earlier in the year but really feel I need to work up to it (hence going through Body Rev again).

Oh no LordPeter, hope you recover soon!

I haven't done anything at all for the last week (and feeling hugely bloated now), but Santa brought me Bodyshred for Christmas so I will get going with that sometime in the New Year.

Oubliette, well done! I came on today just to see if you'd made your target!

Totally up for a New Year thread too Smile.
inhave found this really motivating and am really pleased that, on the whole, I have kept up regular exercise since September.

Thanks for the kind thoughts - I'm fine, but as predicted pretty sore (and it was a bit scary at the time: I had a momentary vision of being unable to get up and dying of hypothermia before anyone found me Blush). I seem to have wrenched some of the muscles round my shoulders as well as having the huge bruise on my hip, so it's going to have to be a couple of days off exercise for me.

Oubliette, you are a star - well done!! Star Star Star Star

Definitely up for a NewYearathon thread: I might even be back on the exercise wagon by Sunday.

PS, hope you're OK, Peter, you must have got an awful fright.

Woo hoo, Oubliette! You are a total legend! Very well done. Wine Cake Star I think you have earned the honours of starting the new thread.

We had major family time (mine and in laws) over the last few days so I got a couple of short escapes runs in. Today's was awful, but managed 7km with lots of short walks. Hoping to do 10k to start the new year on Sunday. It'll be the first of my 750k in 2017. Eek!

Shall we have a shiny new NewYearathon thread? Anyone want to do the honours, or shall I?

I think I'm going to aim for 200 hours of exercise (spread over at least 250 days) in 2017.

I'm definitely not going to aim for 300 days again - it makes exercise too much of a chore.

Wooohooo StarStarStarStarStar!

Well done Oubliette, that is amazing. Am definitely up for a party - am ready for one as my DC have been a challenge today!

Not done anything but leggings have stretched a bit and have said to DH I am going out for a run tomorrow. I think aiming for twice a week exercising in school hols and three times a week in term times is more realitistic.

I hope you're not too sore today LordPeter - I think you'd certainly be justified in taking some time to recover.

I've just done Killer Abs L1. Which means my 2016 target is now completed Smile

We should have a party on the thread when you make your target!

I came off the bike on black ice this evening so may not be exercising tomorrow: I'm sure I haven't done any real damage but I'm going to have a massive bruise on my right hip where I landed, and if I'm very sore I may give tomorrow a miss. If I'm not, the plan is to do Killer Abs L2.

What a pain, Stressy! Hope they stretched back.

Body Rev workout 3 done, not too badly, now that my house guests have gone, and I'm about to bike to work - wish me luck in this cold!

Oh no, Stressy, that's really annoyingly. Hope you get them back to normal.

I went for a run this morning, 7km. I could feel a lot of Christmas dinner blobbing about me...

I got a new exercise top for Christmas even though I only do DVDs at home

I had another rest day yesterday. Back to exercising today. Killer Abs L1.

FFS I have tumble dried my new running leggings which are not meant to be tumble dried. I deliberately got them a bit big as I suspected I would do it by mistake but hadn't meant to do it on day 1 Xmas Angry.

They are currently stretching on a hanger. Just felt the need to share my error!

Well done TooStressy! I ought to ask for exercise kit, really, though since I only do DVDs at home maybe it would be overkill. (Though I have more cycling gloves than one human being could ever possibly use in my quest to find the [pair that will keep my hands warm on the bike when it gets below zero.)

Merry Boxing Day everyone Xmas Smile. I got some new exercise clothes for Xmas which is a vast improvement in my old faded kit which had holes in!! Went out for run this morning. Went with DH and amazingly we didn't argue (I had primed him before not to speak too much, encourage me in any way or try to tell me to keep going - years of martial arts training in another life left me hating the constant criticism and the pushiness of that style of encouragement although I know some like it).

Yes, thanks, Oubliette.

Happy Christmas, everyone! I had a fail last week, so feel better that TooStressy did too - I achieved nothing except for one yoga workout while I was away for work - and I have a house full of people now till Tuesday, so won't be getting back into it till then. But I have a plan now!
