Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

Day 6: 30 Wii Personal Trainer. So hot, would love it if someone could magic up a private swimming pool in my back garden!

OublietteBravo · 06/06/2016 20:13

Day 6: I'm proud of myself - I really didn't want to exercise this evening. But I made myself, and I've just done NMTZ.

  • Front squats- 3 x (3x3) at 48/52/55kg

AnnPerkins · 07/06/2016 08:05

I had an awful run last night. It was hot and my ankles hurt, I shouldn't go out two days running. Will have to do indoor cardio core workouts until Saturday when DH is back.

ElephantMug · 07/06/2016 08:05

Wow Keyser, that sounds serious! I did an hour of yoga on Sunday and half an hour is swimming yesterday. So that's days 5 and 6. Today I'm back to normal as the kids are back to school, so I'm running and going to Body Pump.

Zame · 07/06/2016 10:15

I've done a quick (for me) 5k this morning as I don't have enough time to do the usual hour. It was so humid, I was considering going for a long one very early tomorrow instead but not sure after Ann's post, might be wise to stick to running on alternate days?

ARichVernacular · 07/06/2016 12:58

At least 40mins brisk walking today, including up and down stairs several times fetching people for meetings.

It is so humid and sweaty in London today.

CaitAgusMadra · 07/06/2016 14:52

Did a 2 hour hill walk this morning - 7km and 450m climb - was beautiful. Reminded me how much I loved hill walking pre-DC.

KittyandTeal · 07/06/2016 16:29

Just done my half hour Pilates. Needed it as I'm a bit wonky after yesterday's run!

patientzero · 07/06/2016 18:30

Yoga and dog walk. Because I'm predictable like that.

KanyesVest · 07/06/2016 18:38

Yesterday was a family BBQ with the in laws (bank holiday here) and we had dd's party with all her cousins. I don't think I sat down between 10am and 6pm but my step tracker said I'd only done 5k steps Confused. Anyway, I was wrecked when we got home, so didn't manage any exercise.

Dh was home for a half hour between work and going out again, so I squeezed in 30 min run. Its still 20+ degrees here and humid so it felt like running through soup was glad of the excuse to stop . And I've done my core routine, 10 full press ups badly, and a 30 day thigh shaper challenge I found online.

Day 5

OublietteBravo · 07/06/2016 19:36

Well that was interesting. Day 7: exercise + thunderstorm = dripping with sweat (quite literally). I've just done 6W6P L2D2, and I badly need a shower.

Glad to see everyone sticking with it - 1 week gone already.

Day 7: just shy of 30 minutes walk, will make it up tomorrow!

Great going everyone.

AnnPerkins · 07/06/2016 22:08

Reluctantly did a core flex workout after DS went to bed.

I'm struggling for energy this year, everything seems so much harder, perhaps because I'm a bit heavier. Am trying to eat smaller quantities of healthier food and will forgo midweek drinks tomorrow night

Zame · 08/06/2016 06:37

Good morning! The plan for today is definitely shred, definitely a walk, possibly Davina DVD. I was considering a swim but I just don't think I can be arsed

ARichVernacular · 08/06/2016 09:12

Managed 10mins of a Body Coach workout before the DC came downstairs and interrupted thank god Blush

Will sort something else out...

buzzing · 08/06/2016 09:21

Leisurely run with my running group on Monday evening followed by a short rubbish run on Tuesday morning. Will do a longer run tonight I think. hoping it won't be so muggy by then.

7/30 still on track and 30km run this month

KanyesVest · 08/06/2016 09:26

I've signed up for the week trial at the new gym I'm thinking of joining. Its a boot camp/ circuits /hiit type place. I've booked a 1pm class. The website looks scary now I've committed Shock.

ElizaBB · 08/06/2016 10:46

Well done everyone, I've been doing ok, 5k run this morning before it gets too hot !
Keep it up.

Tsotofamily · 08/06/2016 11:24

Hi all
Hope you don't mind if I join, I can't really do alot at the min as I'm 34 weeks pregnant but the last couple of days I've had some energy back which I've been lacking most of my pregnancy. Which is a shame as I was enjoying getting my steps in and doing shaun T workouts before I fell pregnant.
Anyway I'm going to start getting out for walks again with the dogs and walking to take dd2 to playgroup and back instead of the car
Yesterday I done over an hour of walking
Today we've been out for about an hour with the dogs and we're going to walk to dds dance class instead of taking the car which will be about another 30-40 mins depending on fast I waddle

Zame · 08/06/2016 12:34

Well done everyone! I've done the walk and the shred. Shower time now before I have to head out.
I'll be doing a run early tomorrow, minimum 1 hour (if I write it down here it means I have to do it)

KeyserSophie · 08/06/2016 12:51

An 8k run this morning and about to go to a yoga class (which is in my apartment building so I only need to walk downstairs- no excuses).

Seeing my PT tomorrow. Then I head to London for the weekend. Stupidly excited about running some of my old routes.

KittyandTeal · 08/06/2016 12:59

I was supposed to do 5k this morning but I'm a bit off colour.

Did a 20min kettle bell strength work out and a 10min strength for runners thing.

Feel like I need a rest day now!

ElephantMug · 08/06/2016 13:31

Good going everyone. It's so hard in this muggy weather, isn't it?
I went to Pump again today, will try to do some yoga later as I feel like I could do with a stretch.
