Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

30 mins hiit kettle bells workout and a quick 10min strength for runners down.

Now I'm going to ruin it all by going out drinking!

ElephantMug · 04/06/2016 18:05

Muggy, sweaty, uncomfortable 5k this afternoon! But I really needed it because I've been eating rubbish all day. Probably undone all my careful eating from the rest of the week. Bit cross.
Well done everyone!

I've just done 6W6P L2D1, and I'm a horrible sweaty mess. It is really humid this evening.

4 days down, 26 to go...

Still very warm here but I managed one of my shorter circuits in 28 mins. Slow, but done.

Day 3

KeyserSophie · 05/06/2016 04:12

8k trail run this morning.

OublietteBravo · 05/06/2016 10:29

Day 5: Ri30 L1D3 + 6W6P L1D2.

A longer session today because I was trying to keep the DC off the Xbox for as long as possible

Still very humid here, so I'm glad I didn't wait until later in the day.

New PB at parkrun yesterday and DD got one at junior parkrun this morning. 5 days in and no misses yet.

Wildernesstips · 05/06/2016 15:18

Managed a 45 min walk as well as my Wii activity yesterday so really pleased with that.

Day 5: 1 hr walk in the countryside.

Well done everyone!

patientzero · 05/06/2016 16:09

No deliberate exercise yesterday but I did spend 2.5 hours dancing at a gig so I think that counts Grin

Just the usual Yoga with Adriene and a dog walk for me today, though I've not done either yet!

KittyandTeal · 05/06/2016 20:28

Half hour yoga session done.

Felt so tight and stiff after kettle bells yesterday.

Long run tmrw, 10k.

Zame · 05/06/2016 20:34

I've not really done anything today, just wandered round at the beach. I'll WILL be doing the 30DS shortly, or a bit of Davina , got to get the motivation up that's all!

Zame · 05/06/2016 21:40

Still not moved off the couch, maybe if I put my trainers on that'll help...

KanyesVest · 05/06/2016 21:43

Zame, I've just abandoned dd's birthday cake to go for a walk! I'll see you back here in 30 for a full report!

Zame · 05/06/2016 22:23

And it's done! Shower time now. How was the walk Kanye?

KanyesVest · 05/06/2016 22:31

Hot and sticky, but 45 mins done! Yay us!

Now back to cake decorating, pinata filling and present wrapping Grin

Day 4

Zame · 05/06/2016 22:44

Ah brilliant well done, and thank you for the push into actually doing it! I hope your daughter has a lovely party tomorrow :)

KeyserSophie · 06/06/2016 05:41

bit of spare time this morning so ran to the gym (4k), did an upper body strength session (Oh my God scaps, why are you so weak and crap?) and ran the 4k home again.

AnnPerkins · 06/06/2016 06:39

Sorry didn't update over the weekend. Cardio core workout on Saturday and 30 minute run last night.

Well done everyone. Only 25 days to go.

I know I don't look any better yet but I'm sleeping well after regular exercise which is a relief as I've had some terrible insomnia in recent months.

DH is away now until Friday so I'll be fitting runs in between dropping DS at various activities and doing YouTube workouts the rest of the time.

CaitAgusMadra · 06/06/2016 06:57

I'm a bit late (story of my life..) but would love to join this thread. I'm trying to get back into exercise after having DC2 nearly 8 months ago. I can't do any high impact exercise as have some issues since the birth do it will be mainly walking and core exercises. I have a cross trainer at home but prefer to get out when the weather is good

Today is a write off as we have a 5 hour drive but then I will have 2 child free days in a lovely hotel. Plan a swim in the outdoor pool and some hill and beach walking.

Zame · 06/06/2016 07:54

Cait that sounds wonderful!

Zame · 06/06/2016 07:54

I'm off swimming after dropping the kids off at school. Should really go for a run but not feeling it today, might be too warm later

ARichVernacular · 06/06/2016 09:02

I might join in; been getting fit for the first time in my life since January, bit haven't been to the gym for two weeks for various reasons. Another back pain sufferer here so generally do yoga, swimming, walking, dance-type aerobics.

Am back at my usual 90min yoga class tonight :) Will have to fire up YouTube or the dreaded shred tomorrow Grin

KittyandTeal · 06/06/2016 14:20

11.5k this morning. Hard work and it took a loooong 1:24 but it's done.

Yoga tonight as I'm feeling really tight.

Possibly Pilates tmrw or a rest day depending on how I feel

CiderwithBuda · 06/06/2016 14:22

Can finally show my face again! Did nothing after posting the other day but did 35 minute fast walk this morning.

Zame · 06/06/2016 16:43

Had a lazy swim this morning so I made up for it with a walk and then the shred this afternoon before work. I'm not hating the shred as much as I used to, and it's nice to mix up workouts a bit. I will definitely run tomorrow morning
