Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

That sounds like hard work to me, Iam!

I was feeling really lazy so walked instead of running. I managed to do 45mins at a good pace.

Those of you doing yoga, have you done a lot of classes before doing DVDs? I did classes years ago and I'm wondering if I remember enough to try one.

Day 2

KittyandTeal · 02/06/2016 20:15

Can I join a bit late? On holiday atm so don't nothing but I'm aiming for something every day.

Managed it most of may. Mixture of running 5-12k a few times a week, Zumba, Pilates and yoga.

I think I'm better 5/6 days a week rather than all 7 as I tend to do pretty full on work outs.

I've applied for London marathon so need to bit fit, I'd like to go at least a half if I don't get a place.

AnnPerkins · 02/06/2016 20:17

Ran 3 miles this evening.

Shredded again today and did lots of walking. Tired out now so an early night is calling.
Plan to shred again in the morning and that will be level one done...I've never completed level one before so I'm feeling really positive Smile

AnnPerkins · 03/06/2016 08:02

Core stretch and flexibility workout in the living room this morning. Feeling a bit stiff after three days in a row. Must be doing me good! Grin

CiderwithBuda · 03/06/2016 08:16

Can I join please? A bit late but better late than never!

Am on low carb Bootcamp but need to exercise too. Have a Fitbit but can't always make myself walk. Have cross trainer, treadmill and rowing machine at home so have no excuses really. Also have Wii Fit - might get that connected up again. Have some DVDs as well and bought Davina's on line workouts but have never used them - will try and figure out how to access them again.

I'm almost halfway through 15 days of radiotherapy so am likely to get tired towards the end but I think exercise will help that. If I am too tired I will take it easy. A 30 min walk should still be doable.

Morning everyone!

Off work with no plans so did Day 5 of Yoga with Adriene, then s dog walk, then Week 1 Day 2 of C25K. I'm not usually this active I promise!

Kanyes I've never really done yoga before and I'm not very flexible but getting on well so far as the programme I'm doing is designed for all levels of ability. It's also free if anyone fancies it - on YouTube or you can sign up on her website for emails.

Kitty my goal is to run a half marathon this time next year then possibly a marathon the next year. I'm currently a complete beginner and you already sound pretty fit so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Iggle well done on completing level 1. I started it once and had to stop during the warm up to go and puke. Not quite than unfit these days but it still scares me a bit!

Ann I'm really stiff too. Hoping it's just my body getting used to things and that it'll settle down soon.

Cider hope the radiotherapy goes well and if you're feeling up for a Fitbit challenge one day let me know Smile

ElephantMug · 03/06/2016 11:50

Day 3, ran for about 35 mins with my eldest DD scooting along too. Need to stretch!

buzzing · 03/06/2016 12:01

Can I join? I'd already decided that I was going to run everyday during June so this seems like a great place to keep me on track :-)

I ran first thing this morning as DH & DDs are away I love my quiet house! so have done 4k / 7k / 5k so far this month.

Will do parkrun tmw, junior parkrun on Sunday & have running group on Monday so am sorted for the next few days, just need to keep the motivation going after that!

Well done ladies... Moving is Proving or somesuch other motivational bollocks to you all.

KeyserSophie · 03/06/2016 12:11

40 minute run. It is so damn hot here. I'm going to swim tomorrow

Zame · 03/06/2016 13:30

Walked up and down the local 'mountain', took about 1 hour 45 and really enjoyed it. I'll be doing a DVD later on too, I'm considering retrying the 30 day shred which I really really hate for some reason, or may just stick with Davina

Zame · 03/06/2016 14:50

Well I did level 1 shred anyway and wasn't as bad as I remembered it so might do it more pften

ElizaBB · 03/06/2016 17:11

Good stuff everybody. Long hike today, lovely.

ElizaBB · 03/06/2016 17:11

Good stuff everybody. Long hike today, lovely weather !

TwinkleCrinkle · 03/06/2016 18:00

Day 3: managed 45 minutes of yoga but have done something to my elbow so no chatturangas for me!

KittyandTeal · 03/06/2016 19:05

5.5k done this evening 34mins. Obviously 5 enforced rest days and 5 hours in the car has helped my time.

20min yoga tonight.

I was due for another 5k tmrw but we're shopping for cars as ours had died a death 😫 I'll probably do some hiit kettle bells tmrw instead.

OublietteBravo · 03/06/2016 19:40

Day 3: completed (27 to go).

I did Ri30L2D2 and Killer Abs L1D1.

Also done 20 mins Pilates. God I needed to do something

Zame · 04/06/2016 07:32

Day 4 done. Just finished a 10k run/trot before work. I Think it's going to be hot today so thought I'd best do it sooner rather than later. Good luck everyone else exercising today

Wildernesstips · 04/06/2016 07:56

Day 3 Rest day
Day 4 Wii personal trainer done this morning, but am also hoping to squeeze a walk in today.

Stellar67 · 04/06/2016 08:06

Aargh, I had to sit and read a couple of long articles and report back by 5 last night. And then I just flaked out.
So back today. Off for a jog now.

KeyserSophie · 04/06/2016 09:31

40 mins on the cross trainer

ElizaBB · 04/06/2016 11:40

Another long dog walk, no hills today though !

KanyesVest · 04/06/2016 12:51

Yesterday was a write off for me, after a work disaster I fell into bed bone tired at 9.15. I've just been out for a walk with DS and what usually takes 25 mins took 45; but in between looking at every ant and flower, walking on a wall and checking all the manhole covers, I did some sprints after him on his bike Grin (in his defense, he's not yet 4!). I'm baking for the rest of the day (the first of dd's 6th birthday parties on Monday) but might get a proper walk or jog tonight when it cools down again.
