Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

Hello everyone, sounds like great exercise being done today!

Kitty, hope you're feeling well again soon. I went to the go this morning to get bloods done because I've been feeling so flat for the last 6 months. Hope you biince back quickly!

Tsoto fair play to you doing that much walking at that much pregnant!

I did my class. It was tough but I survived! I'm already sore after it, but it's the good kind of pain or so they tell me

OublietteBravo · 08/06/2016 19:40

Day 8: Ri30 L2D4 + Killer Abs L1D2. Still horribly humid.

Well done everyone - the first quarter of Juneathon is done.

Morning all, ran 10k. Didn't break any personal records as my legs are quite achey but I'm very pleased I did it and enjoyed it. Swimming is the plan for tomorrow so hopefully these niggly pains will go away

Busy day for me yesterday but a superfit and dedicated friend added me as a Fitbit friend so I made myself do my 10,000 steps before I accepted! I went out for a walk after dinner but didn't bring my phone so couldn't check my steps. Got back and still had 1,100 to do. Ended up walking up and down our long drive and the little road outside till my wrist buzzed. Because it was all a but impromptu I walked in my Birkenstocks so have a blister now.

But did my 10,000 steps and ended up walking for 35 mins.

Busy day again today so not sur what I will manage. Getting my hair done this afternoon so might walk there and back. It's about 30 mins each way.

Personal training:

  • 4 x (5 behind neck strict press, 5 behind neck push press) @25kg
  • 4x (3+3 supinated pull ups)
  • 3 x 15 second ring brace, alternated with 3 x 12 cross body scapula pulls
  • 20 minute EMOM - 4 rope get ups, 8 push jerks @30kg, 3 farmer walks at 48kg, 30 second assault bike).
CaitAgusMadra · 09/06/2016 10:27

Long walk again yesterday. Back from our break now though so this is when it gets tough! Plan to do 30mins on cross trainer after bedtime + short core set

Tsotofamily · 09/06/2016 17:19

Walked again today, met my nan and stepmum at Rococo gardens. Was there for 3 1/2 hours but didn't walk for that long, we stopped for lunch and walked at a slow ish pace as had dd2 with me as well.

KittyandTeal · 09/06/2016 19:10

Rest day for me, although I've been at work (reception teacher) so nice not exactly been idle of sedentary 😄

KanyesVest · 09/06/2016 21:12

30min walk. Too sore to run after yesterday class Blush

Day 7

blodynmawr · 09/06/2016 21:50

Hello All, especially Oubliette and Kanyes
I dropped off the New Yearathon thread in April and May as work was mental.
Have started June well though with my usual Jillian workout of choice every day this week Smile - 2 x 20 min Kick box Fast Fix (KBFF). It has been very sticky and sweaty though Blush.
I usually work out Mon-Fri so aim to do 20 days this month.
Day 4 / 20.

KanyesVest · 09/06/2016 22:11

Hi Blod!

ElizaBB · 09/06/2016 22:59

Rest day today ( didn't get round to any "me time" too much going on ) over 11000 steps so not a disaster !

Wildernesstips · 10/06/2016 06:50

Not going so well - I have had two rest days in a row, but am still within my goal of 5/7 days. Am hoping to walk in my lunch break today.

blodynmawr · 10/06/2016 07:19

40 min KBFF.
Day 5 / 20.

Another sweat-fest as still muggy here in West Wales.
Did the 3rd KBFF workout, the ab one, for the second 20 min today and boy do I know it Blush. Usually mainly do workouts 1 and 2.

Zame · 10/06/2016 07:24

Hello! The plan for today is a swim, maybe a Davina DVD but my lower legs are achey so might not give it a miss depending on how I feel later on. I'll report back later. Hope everyone has a good day

ARichVernacular · 10/06/2016 09:13

Did nothing yesterday. Walked into work today (40mins brisk) and will walk to my afternoon meeting (30mins brisk) and then home (30mins moderate, uphill).

ElephantMug · 10/06/2016 09:18

Spin class yesterday and badminton today. Might get up and run tomorrow before it gets too hot, or have a rest day. I'm 10/10 so far so feeling smug.

AnnPerkins · 10/06/2016 09:55

Cardio flow workout on Wednesday and core flex/stretch workout yesterday.

I'm struggling to keep this up every day this week, apart from being so tired because I'm sleeping so badly, with DH away all the chores + DS bedtime is falling to me, not helped by having to scrub melted 'fart putty' out of the living room carpet last night Angry

Tsotofamily · 10/06/2016 10:17

30-40 min walk for me done

KanyesVest · 10/06/2016 17:05

Fart putty, Ann?? I really hope that was some sort of misguided toy!

I'm in massive pain today but did my class this morning, so there will be multiples of pain by tomorrow. Dh is also heading away tomorrow, back Sunday week, and I only today realised I've booked myself an utterly ridiculous work week, so exercise will either be my saviour or the straw that breaks me. Tomorrow is dd's class birthday party, so that'll be fun! Hope everyone has a good weekend Smile

Zame · 10/06/2016 17:41

I did the swim, walked to and from the pool and also did a couple of davinas fit in 15 sections so I'm feeling pretty darn good although I think I need bigger weights for my arms now.
I'd love to have a go at spinning,
I've heard it's really hard work

KittyandTeal · 10/06/2016 18:31

Spent the day running around after 5yos and doing athletics pe lesson!

Done a 10min hiit kettlebell work out and a 10min yoga. Not loads but still something

OublietteBravo · 10/06/2016 20:07

Well done everyone - we're now 1/3 of the way through June. Doesn't time fly...

I forgot to post yesterday. I'm still keeping up with Juneathon though.

Yesterday (day 9): NMTZ;
Today (day 10): 6W6P L2D3
