Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

OublietteBravo · 22/05/2016 13:41

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

I've been so lazy today and eaten alllll the food so I'm well ready to make a fresh start tomorrow. Looking forward to it

KanyesVest · 31/05/2016 22:12

Zame, I decided to rid myself of temptation by eating it all too! Looking forward to tomorrow's start.

Whyhellodaffodil · 31/05/2016 22:50

Where did may go?! Looking forward to tomorrow - have also started a day early with a gym and swim session today and then some gardening/fence painting this afternoon, my arms hurt! I may have eaten ice cream, fries and cake too though! Think tomorrow will be some Pilates - can any one recommend any good Pilates on you tube etc?

OublietteBravo · 01/06/2016 07:26

Morning everyone! It appears to be June, so it's time to get going with Juneathon.

Good luck - I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's updates.

I'll be exercising this evening, so I'll report back later.

Morning! I've done my jog this morning, nearly snoozed my alarm and put it off until later but decided to just go for it. Good luck everyone!

Stellar67 · 01/06/2016 11:16

Jog done. Had to wait till an hour ago but it's done.

ElephantMug · 01/06/2016 13:58

Did my Davina DVD!

KeyserSophie · 01/06/2016 14:34

Did an hour of Ashtanga.

Wildernesstips · 01/06/2016 17:25

Started as I mean to go on this morning with 35 mins of Wii Personal Trainer before work. It's nice to go to work with that exercise buzz!

ElizaBB · 01/06/2016 18:32

After scoffing 2 slices of carrot cake ...mmmm.... forced myself to do 30 mins on the cross trainer. Will try to carry on tomorrow, without the cake but there is quite a lot left Grin

patientzero · 01/06/2016 19:26

Yoga with Adriene and a dog walk for me today. Was aiming to do Week 1, Day 2 of C25K but I'm grumpy and hot so doing it tomorrow instead.

OublietteBravo · 01/06/2016 19:29

I feel like I've made a good start to Juneathon. This evening I've done Ri30L2D1 and 6W6PL1D1.

AKA Ripped in 30 and 6 Week 6 Pack

So 1 day down, 29 to go Grin

126 days of exercise in 2016, 174 remaining to get to my target of 300 days

I'm here. Did a Jessica Smith workout in my living room this evening because DH was out. I'll aim to alternate core or hiit workouts with a run every other day.

By the end of last year's Juneathon I was planning a ten mile route. This year I'm starting back at two miles again. Injuries, illness and life keep dragging me back sadly.

Here's to a healthy and effective month of exercise everyone Brew

KanyesVest · 01/06/2016 21:05

Wow, what a great start, everyone!

Eliza, I had a huge slice of lemon curd cake at lunch today, so you've found your dream exercise buddy here Grin

Ann, I'm in the same boat, but hopefully this year will work out a bit better.

I planned a morning run as we've for summer with a bang this week (22-24 degrees this week) but I didn't sleep last night so bailed on it. Luckily I ballsed up dd's passport application which has to be submitted tomorrow, so I just ran to the police station to pick up a new one. Given my hideous recent running form, it was a good one - a bit faster and I managed 20mins without stopping, very happily coincidentally putting me at the station door! Hoping for another run tomorrow, but will be time allowing. Otherwise I might dig out Jillian, who I haven't seen since last year.

Day 1

IgglePiggleIsDead · 01/06/2016 21:17

Did 30DS this evening even though I was tired and hungry and so glad I did, I found it much easier to do so it was a good boost. Think I'm on day 8 so should have level 1 done on friday and then I'm away until tuesday but will try and shred when I'm away and attempt level 2 when I'm back.
So day one done, well done everybody! Flowers

ElephantMug · 02/06/2016 07:52

I couldn't sleep this morning, so got up at 6:15 and went for a run. 5k, 34 mins, happy with that. Day 2 done!

ElizaBB · 02/06/2016 12:21

Well done Elephant, I did the same but waited till after 9 for the traffic to calm down. Fantastic hedgerows in flower now. Carrot cake is calling me again... Help !

Zame · 02/06/2016 13:15

Not much chance for excercise today so I've done a little walk for 30 mins in my lunch break in the sun :)

KeyserSophie · 02/06/2016 13:51

Ugh. Total fail. 9pm and still at work. So now I've only got 1 of my wild cards left and 28 days to go- ha ha. Anyone want to bet against me?

Zame · 02/06/2016 15:53

Nooo you can do it!

OublietteBravo · 02/06/2016 18:41

Well done everyone, and definitely don't give up Keyser - I'm not going to bet against you.

I'm feeling rather sweaty. On the plus side, this is because I've just done NMTZ AKA More Trouble Zones. I'm off to jump in the shower now, and the DH and I are going out for dinner. Which may well undo some of my good work.

Day 2 done, only 28 to go.

Can I join too?
I did 20 minutes of light yoga yesterday and today. Not quite 30 minutes but trying to ease myself in!

IAmCrazyMostOfTheTime · 02/06/2016 19:17

Not sure if yesterday and today count as I didn't specifically exercise. Spent 4 hours walking round the Harry Potter studio tour yesterday and have spent today painting the lounge - finally finished after 6 hours!

Wildernesstips · 02/06/2016 19:26

Slightly under 30 mins on the Wii Personal Trainer. Just got the second disc so it's the start of a six week challenge which increases in intensity.

patientzero · 02/06/2016 19:28

More Yoga With Adriene and dog walking for me today. Definitely running tomorrow morning!
