Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

Well done for keeping up with the thread. I have had a really good week for fitness. I'm on holiday and so have swum every day (so much nicer to swim in a non-public pool) and have done a fair amount of walking with some pedalo thrown in for good measure. I just need to keep this up back home!

OublietteBravo · 14/08/2016 10:17

Hi Wilderness - I hope I can follow your lead. I'm going on holiday next Saturday, and I'm worried that I'll just be lazy and do no exercise for 2 weeks.

In the meantime, I'm trying to get as many sessions under my belt before I go away. Today's circuit was NMTZ.

6W6P L1 - not feeling motivated enough to do more than that.

Nothing yesterday as was travelling all day, but the day before did my daily swim and a 3km walk.

OublietteBravo · 16/08/2016 20:20

Feeling more motivated this evening. Killer Abs L1

Can't believe how close you are to two-thirds complete, oubliette !

I did about 6km walk last night, and just did a you tube weight circuit. Very sweaty after it.

OublietteBravo · 17/08/2016 20:22

I can't believe it either Kanye - although I suspect my progress will drop off somewhat when I'm on holiday (3 sleeps to go).

In the meantime I've ticked off another day today: NMTZ

Oh, jealous of your holidays. Ours seem like years ago already.

Did a 4km run at lunchtime. I'll be meeting a friend for dinner later so if the torrential rain holds off I'll walk there and back which should be another 5ish km.

OublietteBravo · 18/08/2016 19:06

Right - Killer Abs L1 done. Time to get on with the packing Wink

Apparently I'm now on holiday Smile (my next day in the office is 12 September).

Just done 6W6P L1 (well, a modified version anyway - incorporating the evil abs circuit from NMTZ).

Oh, lucky you! Hope the packing is going well. Dh is off to the US tomorrow so he's packing too. I was supposed to go for a run but ended up so pissed off with the downstairs loo, that I spent the evening stripping the wall paper off it. Now I've missed a run (won't get another for at least a week while he's away) and I have to paint the bloody bathroom I'm an idiot Hmm

OublietteBravo · 20/08/2016 08:38

Good luck with the bathroom Kanye - I imagine wallpaper stripping uses quite a bit of energy (I always ache afterwards).

I think I'm almost packed - just toiletries and electricals to go and explaining to a 12 year old that she can't take her huge teddy bear with her because - well, space We need to leave the house at 14:00, so it should all be OK.

I got up early and did Killer Abs L1 this morning. No idea how exercising will go over the next couple of weeks. I'll be happy if I'm at 200 days by the time I get back (on 6 Sept).

Hello from Denmark! I managed to do Killer Abs L1 this evening.

Denmark sounds like a very different holiday destination; hope it's great.

My abs and arm are very sore after last night's wall paper stripping and tonight's ceiling and wall painting.

OublietteBravo · 22/08/2016 07:50

It's our 4th trip to Denmark in 6 years. We're staying just across the road from Legoland at the moment.

6W6P L1. Feeling tired after a day I of walking around Legoland.

I had a rest day yesterday (no wifi, so no YouTube). This morning I've already done Killer Abs L1 to make up for it.

Sounds like an active holiday, oubliette, I hope it's lots of fun. My two would love Lego land, must add it to our future destination list.

I haven't done any formal exercise this week but more painting on Monday night and last night was dismantling, moving and putting together again 2x8ft kitchen cupboards (the new fridge freezer is arriving tomorrow). I'm having a rest day and a large glass of wine tonight...

OublietteBravo · 25/08/2016 19:27

Bloody hell it is hot checks to see I'm really in Denmark

Just done 6W6P L1 and feel like I might be melting.

(198/102)

Kanye - do let me know if you ever want details of how to do a trip to Legoland Smile

Killer Abs L1. Probably my last session for a while - we move on to Copenhagen tomorrow and I'll have less space.

Well done on continuing into your holiday Oubliette. I have walked for 40 minutes today so am pleased with that.

KanyesVest · 27/08/2016 21:44

Hi Wilderness! Oubliette, you are amazing committed on your holidays. Hope Copenhagen is fun.

Dh finally got home thank fuck so I got out for a walk tonight. It started bucketing rain as I got to the end of our road, but I kept on for 40 mins. Hoping to get for a run tomorrow.

OublietteBravo · 28/08/2016 16:36

Bit showery in Copenhagen right now. No 'serious' exercise - although I've done plenty of walking. Moving on to the Netherlands tomorrow.

OP posts:
Wildernesstips · 28/08/2016 17:38

30 minutes walk, albeit with a Pokemon catching DS!!

KanyesVest · 28/08/2016 21:37

Forty minute run tonight. It was slow and I walked to short stretches but I feel good. I also passed a martial arts dojo I'd never noticed before and I'm going to look into classes. My bootcamp thing isn't working at the moment and I need something external since I'm no good at making myself do YouTube videos.

I also had my first ever experience of being hollered at by some twat driving past, on a well lit, reasonably busy road. He roared "run faster" at me as they boy-racered by. It was definitely disconcerting Confused
