Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

Thanks Kanye - I knew I'd need a new car soon. I was hoping to wait until my share options from work mature in October, but it obviously wasn't to be.

I've just done Killer Abs L1. Now I need to get changed as DH and I are going out to dinner yes, I know I'm supposed to be economising to get a car. But the kids are away and we'd booked the table before the car died

Think of it as a wake for the car Wink. Dh's car must have a telepathic connection with yours...it immolated itself this afternoon. Only 4 years old and just passed its MOT. Sad

Hoping I'll get out for a run later after we get insurance, replacement hire, towing company, etc sorted.

OublietteBravo · 02/08/2016 19:05

Sad Mine is or was a 2002 Seat Leon with almost 140,000 miles on the clock. Which I e had since November 2004. So at least it didn't owe me anything. I currently have a hire car - after 2 days I can assure you that my next car won't be a Fiat 500x.

KanyesVest · 02/08/2016 20:11

Oh really? I love the look of the first 500, disappointing that it doesn't live up to it's looks. Dh had a 2012 Skoda, no idea what we'll replace it with as he doesn't actually fit in a lot of cars (he's a giant). Hire car should fun for him, I think they suggested a ford ka Grin

KanyesVest · 03/08/2016 20:18

Went for a run with my brother this evening. He's only starting so wants to do c25k but was going too fast and flattened half way. I'm very kindly offering my slooooow self as a pacer Grin I think it might work actually, help him slow down and me speed up. With running to meet him and home after, I did just over 5km

OublietteBravo · 03/08/2016 21:31

I'm feeling productive today. I've run a 4 hour workshop, given a 3 hour tutorial and done 6W6P L1.

That was a busy couple of days, oubliette!

I've found a YouTube weights circuit that I'm about to do. Really. Any minute now I'll get off the couch. Really.

OublietteBravo · 05/08/2016 22:27

Rest day today. I'm in a random hotel on the outskirts of Telford and CBA to locate the gym.

OP posts:
KanyesVest · 05/08/2016 23:16

I have no.idea where Telford is, so I'm going to imagine you somewhere very glam, oubliette Wink

I got off the couch. It was a tough circuit, but my sweaty self was glad i did it.

KanyesVest · 06/08/2016 20:46

6km run/walk with my brother tonight. It is hot and heavy here today, still about 20 degrees so I'm not sure the shower will make me any wetter... Confused

OublietteBravo · 07/08/2016 10:31

Telford is between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury Kanye - not especially glam Wink

Didn't do anything yesterday either - I was knackered by the time we got home. However, I got up and did NMTZ this morning, so hopefully I'm back on track.

I'm afraid my geography of Ireland is at best haphazard, so I'll take your word for it oubliette Grin

I was really sore today after the weights circuit and my run so I did lots of walking today, I think about 6k between party drop off/pick up general running around and running after dd on her new bike.

ElephantMug · 08/08/2016 12:07

Hello! I've had a bit of a rubbish start to August, only managed 3 days last week, but started this week with a kettlebells class and hopefully will manage to keep up the momentum.
Sorry to hear about all the car troubles!

OublietteBravo · 08/08/2016 20:00

Hello Elephant

This evening I've done Killer Abs L1 plus half of 6W6P L1 (I stopped after the first circuit as I felt a twinge in my lower back, and I don't fancy being injured).

Hi Elephant!

Hope your back is ok Oubliette.

My brother bailed on our planned run and I was lazy so just did 2 quick rounds of 7min circuits. I'm annoyed I didn't do longer now.

OublietteBravo · 09/08/2016 19:33

Back seems fine today - just done 6W6P L1.

That's good your back is OK, oubliette.

Good day here, almost 7k with my brother and we got word that the insurance is going to cover the actual cost of replacing dh's car!

blodynmawr · 10/08/2016 07:31

Hello All!
I haven't posted for a while but have been doing KBFF 3-4 times a week for the past few weeks. I want to get it up to 5-6 days a week in September. August is all over the place in terms of routine due to school hols etc, plus we are away for the next two weeks, so I am content to be chugging along in some sort of 'maintenance' mode this month. Despite dropping a few workouts per week I can still manage 5kg weights for the upper body workout. However, agree with Kanye's post that it doesn't take a lot of dropping workouts before I notice the difference in how hard they become!
Hope car troubles are sorted Oubliette!

OublietteBravo · 10/08/2016 20:12

Hello blodynmwar - good to see you. Well done for keeping going.

DH is out (and has taken DD and DS with him), so I had time for a longer session. Just done NMTZ.

Walking yesterday, swimming with ds's summer camp today but my sister and family are visiting for a few days so I'll be doing a lot more eating than exercising over the weekend!

OublietteBravo · 12/08/2016 18:50

Very warm today - just done 6W6P L1 + I definitely need a shower!
