Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

10k trail run for me.

OublietteBravo · 11/07/2016 07:55

I've had a couple of unintentional rest days as I've had a really horrible cold and sore throat (thanks DD). I'm hoping I might be well enough to exercise today - I'll see how I feel this evening.

40 min dog walk done

ElephantMug · 11/07/2016 17:19

That sucks, Oubliette. I hope you feel better soon. I hate having to take time off exercise. I feel like I'm being lazy.
Anyway I did badminton this morning (managed not to sprain my ankle!) and I'm riding my bike to kettlebells later.

KeyserSophie · 12/07/2016 16:40

Made it to a Crossfit class today. Yesterday not much and tomorrow I'm working all day in London so no chance.

OublietteBravo · 12/07/2016 20:36

After 3 rest days I decided that I really had to do some exercise today. I did 6W6P L1 very gently

I think I'm going to have to stick to strength for a while. This cold feels like it has gone to my chest, and I'm currently too wheezy to attempt any serious cardio.

Hi everyone. After a month off unintentionally I'm back! Dad ended up being in and out of hospital, then my uncle died unexpectedly, so I decided I needed to give myself a break especially while we were on holidays last week. Congratulations on all the work done!

Oubliette, you must be thrilled to be over the half way mark, and well done on managing the full 30 day. I hope you're on the mend soon, these bloody summer colds seem to be hitting hard.

Anyway, I did a very slow 4.5km today and managed to run almost all of it. I was particluarly proud of doing the first half, which is uphill, only stopping for traffic. I walked a few stretches on the way back.

OublietteBravo · 14/07/2016 17:53

Hi Kanye - welcome back!

I'm really pleased to have made it past the half way mark. Although July hasn't been going that well.

Totally forgot to post yesterday - although I did exercise: 6W6P L1 (modified to add in the evil abs circuit from NMTZ and remove some of the cardio moves). Just trying to work up some motivation for today's session...

10k trail run today. Bastard headwind on the out, which was uphill, but made the return leg all the nicer- downhill AND a tailwind.

KanyesVest · 14/07/2016 20:37

Wow, that sounds hard going, Sophie . Well done.

I thought I posted yesterday. I did a 45min/4.5km walk yesterday, along with a couple of hours walking around a farm/maze/nature trail with the kids. Woke up this morning feeling like I have an elephant sitting on my sternum, so rest day today. I have a night out tomorrow and Saturday, so I'm not sure when I'll be able fit in much over the weekend.

OublietteBravo · 14/07/2016 21:17

Finally found some motivation - same circuit as yesterday (6W6P-based abs).

Oh, good going everyone. Sorry about your uncle Kanye, and glad you're feeling better Oubliette. Trail run sounds fun Keyser!
I had a rest day yesterday (unwillingly, rest days = boring but I have to spend time with DH sometimes apparently) but 40 mins biking (with toddler on the back), 40 mins lifting in the gym and a Spin class today. I love the crèche

KeyserSophie · 15/07/2016 11:02

Went to Crossfit

Spent 20 mins working to a 1 rep max deadlift- managed 90kg.

Then a 13 min AMRAP alternating 7 toes to bar and 10 front rack lunges with 30kg on the bar.

OublietteBravo · 15/07/2016 20:22

Still struggling with motivation. Just about overcoming the lethargy with willpower. Change of circuit today: Killer Abs L1.

Park run- 3 seconds slower than last week, which was a PB, so disappointed I didn't beat it, but happy that it wasn't a fluke :-)

Tsotofamily · 16/07/2016 15:58

Well done keyser, 3 secs off is still good.

40 min dog walk done

OublietteBravo · 17/07/2016 10:15

Rest day yesterday. Just a quick 30 min session today: 6W6P L1 (with ab circuit from NMTZ).

Friday - gym session and Kettlebells class
Saturday - Badminton
Sunday - swimming and Body Pump

Well done for getting back to it, Oubliette.

40 min dog walk done

OublietteBravo · 18/07/2016 18:24

Killer Abs L1. Bloody hell its hot! I'm not sure exercise + 28C is a good combination - off for a shower now...

30 min dog walk, Omg I came back worse than the dogs

OublietteBravo · 19/07/2016 18:32

It's not getting any cooler. 6W6P L1 & a (much needed) shower!

Keyser , I read your post at the weekend chuckling to myself. The last park run I did I was the slowest there! Take heart in your not-last-ness Blush

I've been doing as much walking as I could over the last few days without angering the lurgy. The cough is finally easing so I risked a slow jog this evening which wasn't as painful as I expected especially since it was the hottest day of the year here. I really don't feel like I've any exercise mojo though, need to get my head back into it somehow.

Hope you had a nice cool shower, oubliette!

KanyesVest · 20/07/2016 21:53

4.5km tonight. Slightly cooler this evening so I did more running than last night, with fewer breaks for hacking coughs. Giant glass of cold orange squash waiting for me wish it was beer.

OublietteBravo · 21/07/2016 18:30

Rest day yesterday - I want being lazy, I was giving a 3h tutorial.

Just a quick Killer Abs session this evening (L1) as DH and I are going out for dinner Smile
