Juneathon 2016 - anyone want to join us?

Basic premis: try to do 30 min exercise every day in June.

Any kind of exercise: walking, running, swimming, climbing, dancing, circuits - the choice is yours!

From experience, every day can be a bit much. So feel free to join in even if you don't think you can manage this. Last year I aimed for 5 days per week, which worked well for me.

If you want to start before June, there is a thread here

Dog walk ended up doing an hour slow waddle through the woods was lovely and cool

OublietteBravo · 22/07/2016 19:05

Killer Abs L1 again today. Still haven't kicked my cough yet, so still taking it easy on the cardio...

You have that cough a while, don't you, oubliette? Mine is getting really annoying now too, I've a permanent bloody headache from coughing.

tsoto a cool walk in the woods sounds lovely.

I did 4km tonight and have been making ds's paw patrol birthday cake since I got home. His party tomorrow, so if I survive a madness of 4 year olds (I'm pretty sure that's the correct collective noun) I'll see whether a bottle of wine or a run is preferable Grin

OublietteBravo · 23/07/2016 07:49

Yes Kanye I have. I went to the GP yesterday and they just gave me a repeat prescription for my inhalers and told me to come back if it got worse or if it hadn't cleared up in 2 weeks time. So annoying, but nothing serious...

OublietteBravo · 24/07/2016 20:56

Not really feeling the motivation at the moment. Managed to make myself do Killer Abs L1 this evening.

You've been doing so well, oubliette, I can imagine it's hard to keep it up. But you can do it!

I ended up enjoying wine and left over birthday cake last night, so I didn't go running. Made up for it with a longer, faster run tonight. I am very pleased with myself after how hard the last couple of weeks were. We also went swimming this afternoon, so although I didn't get ant actual exercise while in the pool, I did some of my core exercises while holding floats for the DC to flap about on.

OublietteBravo · 25/07/2016 21:21

Thanks Kanye - hearing that made me feel better. In fact, today I actually do feel better. I think my cough is finally starting to go. I did 6W6P L1 and I feel OK Smile

Oh good, glad you're feeling a bit better today. I did only did 4km this evening, had to get back to make ds's buns for his summer camp party tomorrow and a cake to cut for after dinner. He's done well out of this birthday!

blodynmawr · 26/07/2016 07:25

Well done everyone for keeping going through July!
I did OK in June but the first 3 weeks of July have been useless Blush, plus the heat last week was utterly debilitating.
KBFF done today.
Intend to restart the routine this week so that habits are set and August is a good month!

OublietteBravo · 26/07/2016 20:19

Ive just done NMTZ for the first time in about 3 weeks. It was tough - it's amazing how fast my body loses muscle strength. No cough today - I think I might finally be well again.

Hey good going everyone! Glad you're feeling better Oubliette.
And a "madness" of 4 year olds sounds about right, Kanye.
So I can't remember when Iast updated but I'm trying for 30 mins a day over the school holidays.
So far, Spin on Saturday,5k run on Sunday, cycled to Pump on Monday, long walk yesterday with 15 kilo toddler in the sling (up some of Bristol's most enormous hills!), Pump again today. Phew.

KanyesVest · 27/07/2016 22:23

elephant it sounds like you're keeping up the momentum!
blood I'm trying g to do the same, just get myself going again. It's very dispiriting just his much fitness I lose when I stop at all, and I find it brutal to build up again.

Anyway, yesterday was a lot of walking followed by a lot of cake. I decided to make up for it tonight. Dh is out so I did a body weight/ light cardio circuit I found on pinterest. I feel sick after it and I'm already feeling tomorrow's aches. I'm even too tired to get myself a restorative biscuit.

OublietteBravo · 27/07/2016 22:35

Rest day today:
normal working day + 3h tutorial = no time for exercise.

OP posts:
ElephantMug · 28/07/2016 16:57

Your rest day doesn't sound that restful Oubliette!
Yeah, I'm keeping up with it so far but it's definitely more difficult finding time with all 3 kids at home. Today's effort was 45 mins random circuits at home while cbeebies did the babysitting.

KanyesVest · 28/07/2016 19:49

I was thinking the same about your day, Oubliette!

I'm like you, elephant, squeezing in stuff this week with the kids at home (and its dh's year end). Another pinterest circuit tonight.

OublietteBravo · 28/07/2016 20:16

Yes - not very restful. Only one more tutorial to go and then I'm done with tutoring for the 2016 course.

Back to exercising this evening: NMTZ.

I don't think I'm going to be able to squeeze in any exercise today as I'm looking after 5 kids aged 1-9! Maybe a quick run once DH gets home though realistically I'll probably fall into a vat of cake and G & T.

OublietteBravo · 29/07/2016 19:15

I did a quick 6W6P L1 session this evening. Now I need to pack (I'm not going anywhere, but the DC are off to PGL for a week).

KanyesVest · 29/07/2016 21:02

Dh got home earlier than expected last night so I ended up doing a long (7km) fast walk which was quite enjoyable. Tonight I couldn't be bothered going out so I did the pinterest circuit.

Happy weekend everyone, enjoy your well deserved g&t, elephant!

OublietteBravo · 30/07/2016 19:53

Most of today has been taken up by getting the DC to PGL. However, I have just found time for a quick Killer Abs session.

(175/125 or 7/12 of the way to my 2016 target - meaning I'm still bang on track despite a dodgy July).

OP posts:
OublietteBravo · 31/07/2016 09:39

I decided to exercise first thing today (before my motivation drained away). I've just done NMTZ.

Good work! I dragged all the kids out for a walk on Friday which will have to do, went to badminton yesterday and Pump today.
I hope the kids have fun at PGL Oubliette. My big ones are going to holiday club tomorrow, so me and toddler are going to pretend they're at school and do our normal Monday routine - him going to crèche and me to Spin and Yoga. Can't wait!

KanyesVest · 31/07/2016 22:53

Enjoy the routine, Elephant!

We had a day with the in laws today, so lots of playground fun and running around after 8 kids under 6. It was a long day and I was tired when I got home, but having had a rest day yesterday, I went out for a 25 min plod. I need some motivation so I ordered myself new runners tonight and found an amazing pair I'm getting dh to bring home from the US for me net month!!

OublietteBravo · 01/08/2016 18:44

I'm jealous Kanye - all non-essential purchases on hold here (my car died at the weekend - so I need to get a new-to-me one).

Just done 6W6P L1. Off to build some flat pack furniture (drawers for DD).

OP posts:
KanyesVest · 01/08/2016 22:26

Oh no, oubliette, that's crap. Hope you get something sorted soon. I realised that my runners were my birthday present last year, making them a year old, so it's no wonder my ankles are complaining after a run.

It's miserable here this evening and I'm exhausted so I did 3x7min circuit app. Shower and bed calling me.
