Lovely warm morning, not enough time for long run so did 5k. Really enjoyed it, a few minutes peace in a crazy weekend. Backstage helping with dance show again today, 2 shows and then we're done. Dds both knackered and so am I!

13.1 and 3.1 so 484.95

MyBlackCat · 20/06/2016 18:01

Well done kimme I was born in Shrewsbury so know it well Smile I should run it at some point.

3.4 plodding miles which at 15 weeks pg I am happy with

488.35

Anglaise1 · 20/06/2016 20:11

Wow Karate 8 minutes is an enormous chunk of time to knock off a HM PB, congratulations! All those marathons have done you some good Wink
20.5 miles from the last few days. Buzzard are flying very low at the moment protecting their young and a friend and I narrowly avoided an attack other day but we managed to out run the one following us. The perils of running in the countryside, buzzards and ticks.

Attacking buzzards! Eek!

3.3 with DD after school.

emummy · 21/06/2016 11:14

Nice warm run in woods this morning, bit slow but managed to run all my hills, 200m in total, so happy enough.

516.75

KeyserSophie · 21/06/2016 13:23

Adding 7 from yesterday and today. It's 35 degrees. I am dying and looking forward to coming to the UK for some temperate runs. I'm still trying to sort my hip out though so have substituted ergos and assault bike for a few runs, hence last week's poor show on the mileage contribution front.

523.75

cinnamongreyhound · 21/06/2016 22:36

Well done karatekimmi, that's fantastic!

Tonight's organisation left something to desired! One friend I run with has to pick her boys up from swimming every other Tuesday so we run late my other friend often doesn't want to run late so I may go earlier with her and the other friend finds someone else to go with her. Tonight we were all going together, swimming friend usually messages as she leaves heard nothing started to get worried eventually I messaged her dh. She'd already gone, turns out she was waiting for us for 15 mins in local car park while we sat at mine waiting for her to say she was ready, oh dear! Very annoyed at the whole situation rather than a person so ended up with a speedy albeit shorter than planned run! 527.75

5 to add, it's so bloody warm! 532.75

HalleLouja · 23/06/2016 08:50

Not sure the last time I added but in the last week I have run 21.5 miles. Am really enjoying my long runs. They seem to be getting easier with practice... Plus my work with my coach has helped my overall speed.

This weekend I am doing a local even which is 17 miles and we need to follow instructions to get there. My partner is lovely and very funny so hopefully it should be a top day.

Keyser 35 degrees is really very hot. I am not sure I would be so keen on running if I lived where you do.

Well done Kimmi.

Does anyone else do strength work? I do stuff with my trainer on TRX and have found it really helps. I then follow her routine at the gym by myself. My PT is a runner and a very fast one at that so have devised exercises to help with running form and apparently it has been helping.

Total is 554.25.

stilllearnin · 23/06/2016 11:31

Hello just 3.4 miles to add. I am feeling sad as my dd goes back to live with her dad after about 5 weeks with me. He has bought her a puppy...so, you know. Apparently I can visit(!) I am hoping that I can get through.

557.65 (i think) (if I get 10 calculations in a row correct, can I get a sticker!)

HalleLouja · 23/06/2016 12:46

stillearnin sending lots of hugs your way. That all sounds shit.

HalleLouja · 23/06/2016 12:48

0ellen apparently what you need to do is increase your cadence to about 180 strides per minute. If you listen to music around 180 bpm that helps. There are websites to help you find appropriate music.... I run at that cadence but am still pretty slow. But you aren't supposed to make your stride too long either.

cinnamongreyhound · 23/06/2016 13:27

Ah sorry to hear that stilllearnin Sad

Good luck HalleLouja!

4 very wet warm miles this morning, rain stopped for a few mins but it was so close and hot i was glad when it started again!!!! 561.65

Hope you are ok stilllearnin.
Toasty warm day here, 20 degrees at 9am so a very sweaty run in the woods. Cut it short, couldn't face the last mile without shade! Poor dog was very warm, she did here stream to stream route.
Looking forward to this weekend, am expecting running vouchers for my birthday so can finally go out and get new trail shoes, yippee!
