Happy 2016 everyone!

If your new year's resolutions include more exercise, come and join our little band of (almost) daily exercisers. The idea is loosely based on Juneathon, and you do some form of exercise most days each week (we take rest days too). The exercise can be whatever you like, swimming, running, DVD/ gym classes, yoga, stretching, etc, but we post here to keep motivated and encourage each other.

Our previous threads are Octoberathon and Juneathon

I'm planning to get out for a short run later today, fingers crossed it stops raining at some point!

Oh no Kanye - that sucks Sad. I hope your back recovers soon - back pain is horrible.

AnnPerkins · 22/05/2016 08:56

Hi Oubliette. Thank you both for the lovely welcome back.

What's NMTZ?

Sorry to hear about your back Kanye. That's happened to me twice since February, one of the reasons why I've been out of running so much lately. i hope yours is feeling better today.

I've not done anything since my run on Tuesday. I'm going to have to pull my socks up if I'm going to complete Juneathon. As soon as I've shaken today's hangover I'll find myself a YouTube video to do while DH is out this morning.

OublietteBravo · 22/05/2016 09:51

NMTZ - is No More Trouble Zones. It's a Jillian Michaels DVD with 8 circuits which lasts about 45 min.

Today I started Ripped in 30 (Ri30), so level 1 day 1. I also did the Abs circuit from NMTZ.

Shiny new Juneathon thread all ready and waiting here

KanyesVest · 22/05/2016 17:57

Thanks Oubliette, I'll go check in now. Sounds like you had a busy day, I hope you don't have much to laugh at tomorrow! I managed a lot of walking gingerly, taking very good care of my back. I think I should be OK in a day or two as it seems muscular and a hot water bottle is helping a lot.

How's the back today Kanye - any better?

I'm having a low motivation day today. I had to force myself to exercise. That said, I managed to persuade myself to do Ri30 L1D2.

KanyesVest · 23/05/2016 22:37

Good effort for a low motivation day, Oubliette. I'm ok today, back is still not right but much better. I'm not sure if DS was intent on curing or killing me today, but him swinging out of my neck at any possible opportunity may have popped something back! I managed to go out for a walk this evening, 5km, although I decided I wouldn't risk running for another few days. DH will be away again tomorrow so I'll have to see what I can manage.

Back to abs this evening - 6W6P L1.

AnnPerkins · 25/05/2016 06:36

Hi. Hope your back is still on the mend Kanye. Oubliette you do well for an unmotivated person! Is that a countdown of days in your posts?

I ran 2 miles last night. Plus some stretching. I feel very heavy when I run at the moment so hope cutting out all the cake, biscuits and crisps for June will make some difference.

Not long until 1st June, I feel like I'm in training for the training!

OublietteBravo · 25/05/2016 19:56

Hi Ann - yes the numbers represent my progress against my 2016 target of exercising on 300 days (left hand figure is exercise days so far, right hand figure is days remaining). So far I'm just about on target - and I should hit the halfway point towards the end of Juneathon.Smile

Back to Ri30 today - L1D3.

OublietteBravo · 26/05/2016 19:24

Feeling more motivated today, so I did a slightly longer session - NMTZ.

(121/179)

KanyesVest · 26/05/2016 23:41

That's motivation, Oubliette! My back is on the mend but I've just been walking the last couple of days to be sure. Hoping to do a short run tomorrow or Saturday to check it out.

Motivation is a fleeting emotion this week. Really just wasn't to curl up and ignore the world. Instead i took DD to gymnastics, did Ri30 L1D4, had a shower, and now I'm off to pack the kids bags ready for their week away.

Finally dragged myself out for a plod. It was awful.

I had a rest day yesterday (I was back at my old college for boat club dinner). Today I managed Ri30 L1D5 once my hangover had cleared

OublietteBravo · 30/05/2016 19:35

Back to abs today - 6W6P L1.

I'm wondering how to keep track of my days once Juneathon starts without confusing all the new people. I might keep my tally going on this thread, or then again I might not

(124/176)

OublietteBravo · 31/05/2016 19:08

I've just done Ri30 L1D6. But more importantly, today marks an entire year of exercising. I started doing Juneathon last year and I managed to keep going. Halo

(125/175 - which means I'm exactly 5/12 of the way to my target after 5 months).

See you all on the Juneathon thread tomorrow Smile

KanyesVest · 31/05/2016 19:18

Well done Oubliette! I hope you are marking the occasion with a suitable brew Brew or Wine.

I've only managed lots of steps for the last few days, but I am going for a run tomorrow and joining a new gym next week. The one I've been going to for the last year, and loved, closed unexpectedly and the temporary sites just don't suit me. I've lost so much motivation and momentum not having the structure of classes, so I'm looking forward to the new place. Here's to Junathon 2016!

Congrats Oubliette Star Star Star

See you over the other side
