Happy 2016 everyone!

If your new year's resolutions include more exercise, come and join our little band of (almost) daily exercisers. The idea is loosely based on Juneathon, and you do some form of exercise most days each week (we take rest days too). The exercise can be whatever you like, swimming, running, DVD/ gym classes, yoga, stretching, etc, but we post here to keep motivated and encourage each other.

Our previous threads are Octoberathon and Juneathon

I'm planning to get out for a short run later today, fingers crossed it stops raining at some point!

Welcome back and happy skiing respectively kanye and oubliette!

Advanced reformer pilates class yesterday and then yin yoga. My obliques and i are no longer on speaking terms but I do feel very zen. Today and tomorrow are three hour long yoga workshops. I'm already tired.

comeagainforbigfudge · 20/03/2016 11:07

W2R3 done Grin

KanyesVest · 20/03/2016 17:29

Well done, comeagain! I'm going to head out this evening . We were out for a good wander round the park earlier and I got some weight training in carrying the tired small boy for a while.

Oubliette, I honestly don't know about the physio. I ended up going to two different physios, both who specialise in women's health, but who gave me different diagnoses and different but overlapping treatment plans. I am going to keep doing what they have suggested and try to build back up to where I was. Both said that once I'm not in pain when exercising I should be fine, but neither really answered when I said I sometimes don't feel the pain until later. My gym trainer is pretty good on bio mechanics though so based on what the physios have said he's tailoring programmes for me.

I did a fast run to bootcamp this evening which ended up being a hard core abs class. My right side (where my problem is) plank is worryingly bad. By the end I was starting to feel it in my public bone and hip so I got a lift home. I'll be in doms hell tomorrow!

Still here and doing KBFF 3-4 times a week!
Have signed up to an active programme at work that commits me to doing 200 min of exercise per week for 10 weeks, as a focus to up my game!
2 x 20 min with 3kg weights done (Week 1, weekly total = 40 min).

comeagainforbigfudge · 22/03/2016 19:44

W3R1 done. Hard going this time but feel pleased i finished it Grin

OublietteBravo · 22/03/2016 20:29

Hello from Austria. I've been out skiing for 2 days. My knee is absolutely fine. My calves and shoulders ache though.

ifyoulikepinacolada · 23/03/2016 14:40

Yay well done everyone!

kanye it was a workshop thing rather than three hours of solid yoga but monday morning hurt badly! I'd booked a small group pt class thing on monday lunch too... So many weights. And burpees. So much ouch.

Monday evening was yoga again, yesterday I went boxing, and today i'm off to a flexibility class then some kind of souped-up-reformer-pilates thing.

blody that active programme sounds like a very cunning motivation plan, amazing! And well done comeagain, how are you finding it? oubliette i'm so envious, i love skiing...

OublietteBravo · 23/03/2016 17:25

Skiing again today. Quite cold up the mountain - the cloud never lifted and we had snow. I might wear an extra layer tomorrow.

velmadinkly · 25/03/2016 17:02

Hi all, ive not been posting this week, but I'm slowly getting back in it. The physio signed me off on Monday and like kanye, my arse needs strengthening up. On advise of the physio I went to see a physio who is trained in pilates on Wednesday, so I had about a 45 minute session there. She has given me some daily exercises, I didn't get them done yesterday, but I'll do them this evening. I need to be infront of a mirror to make sure I'm level, but the study/back bedroom needed a good tidy for me to do this, so I did that today. I can the use the full length mirror in the wardrobe.

However, I've done 3 x walks this week and I've been given approval to start davina again, but to take It a bit more gently and to stop if I get any pain. I'm hoping to have a go tomorrow morning, so my plan is Davina in the mornings and then the pilates in the evening. I'm also going to try and keep up with my walking, its my time to get a bit of free head space, although today, DD came along, which was nice, but by god, the child does not stop talking, so the head space thing wasn't happening. Although it was nice to listen to a 7yr olds thoughts and the exclamation she made that she was on an adventure because she'd never been down a certain road we went down Grin

Oh, and welcome back kanye and oubliette I'm pleased your knee has healed.

OublietteBravo · 26/03/2016 14:24

I skiied on Thursday and Friday as well. DS was so tired after yesterday's runs that he fell asleep at 16:00 whilst I was in the shower.

Hoping for an early night tonight after a 21 hour coach trip home.

(I think I'm now on 72/228 - I'll have to go back and count properly to be sure).

OublietteBravo · 27/03/2016 11:24

I had a rest day yesterday - I couldn't face Jullian after almost a day on a coach!

Today I've started to try and get back into the swing of things. I did NMTZ this morning and it hurt - I can tell I haven't done squats/lunges/plank for a couple of weeks!

(73/227)

comeagainforbigfudge · 28/03/2016 10:41

W3 r3 done. Felt really hard going and so slow over all but i did it. And i just need to remind myself that im doing more than i could two weeks ago and that there is more jogging involved. Grin

OublietteBravo · 28/03/2016 20:50

My ankle hurts. Therefore I've been less ambitious than I planned to be this evening and stuck to NMTZ.

blodynmawr · 30/03/2016 07:36

Hi All
Did loads of DIY and a bit of walking over the BH weekend so am counting it all as exercise Grin! Back to KBFF with weights today.
Week 1 - total 220 min
Week 2 - total so far, 100 min.
Hope everyone who is hurting gets less pained as the week goes on! Am not liking the darker mornings this week - less motivation to get up and work out!

OublietteBravo · 30/03/2016 20:31

I had a rest day yesterday. More because I was wrestling with the laundry monster than because I was resting my ankle.

Today I managed 2 circuits for the first time in ages: 30DS L2D14 & 6W6P L2D19 (or something approximating to that).

(75/225 - which means I'm 25% of the way to my target of 300 days of exercise for 2016 Smile)

velmadinkly · 31/03/2016 11:27

I've been on it all week. I've been doing my pilates as well as either Davina or 30 mins brisk walk on a daily basis.
I've been keeping up with my step target on my garmin.

OublietteBravo · 31/03/2016 20:50

Sounds like you are doing really well velma

This evening I've done 30DS L3D11 & 6W6P L1D20. Which is good - especially considering how little I actually wanted to exercise.

(76/224)

OublietteBravo · 02/04/2016 09:41

I had a rest day yesterday (I spent the evening packing - the kids go to PGL today).

Today I've done 30DS L3D12 & 6W6P L2D20.

(77/223)

OublietteBravo · 03/04/2016 10:18

I managed to persuade myself to exercise is the morning again. I've just done NMTZ.

(78/222)

comeagainforbigfudge · 04/04/2016 11:42

Still here. Still plodding through c25k. W5r1 done. Throughly surprising myself so far. Im so very slow and not covering much distance wise but at least im still doing it.

Sirona · 04/04/2016 14:56

Mind if I join in?

I've been exercising pretty consistently since November about 5/6 times a week. Was part of my training for a half marathon. Now it's over with nothing in the pipeline for a few months I'm finding myself getting a bit lazy again. Dc being off Easter hasn't helped. Hoping this thread will keep me motivated. Have hunted out all my exercise equipment and left in a prominent position so I've no excuses.

OublietteBravo · 04/04/2016 21:24

Hi Sirona - welcome to the thread. It's always nice to have someone new Smile

My ankle is still a bit sore, so I switched back to my low-impact abs circuit this evening.

OublietteBravo · 05/04/2016 20:40

My ankle is feeling better Smile
