Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

Oh well done on the hill run Sarah! Love those moments though they seem to be quite few and far between for me!

Purple, every now and then I return to one of my earliest workouts (eg 30 day shred) expecting it to feel easy/easier, and am disheartened when it doesn't. But then have to remind myself that's because I am pushing myself much harder, using much heavier weights, and generally expecting much more of myself. So I think that often it feels like no progress is being made because you're unconsciously adjusting your expectations of yourself as you're getting fitter; and it takes stepping back a bit to realise it. Bit of a ramble there - not sure if that makes sense!!

That's great about the dress Purple. I too have a dress with no occasion to wear it too. It's short and very fitted and I bought it recently on a local FB selling site. I would never until now have had the body confidence to wear such a dress, so I bought it as a kind of celebration of that, but it has yet to be worn outside the house! Grin

Fullsteam I like the sound of those yogurts, will look them up. Have your done your run today?

Boobz hope you got through yesterday ok and are feeling not too bad today.

Everyone else - how are you doing today?

PiYo Buns + 60 squats = ouch!

Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 20/05/2015 16:21

Hope you are ok Boobz?

Fullsteam the thought of all those workouts is tiring never mind actually doing them!! hardcore is not the word!

Oh my goodness 60 squats - well done Jackster! I managed 40 yesterday but I did 22 just now and my knee started to click so decided to follow sarah's lead and stop! Might try again later or just wait for tomorrow. Also did 18 min piyo workout, still coughing etc so this seemed doable.

spooky I missed one of my dvd sets in the post today, red card from postie instead but will update on BBL when it arrives!

Purple I have this vision of you changing nappies in a cocktail dress Grin well done on the nsv that is a big milestone! Well done sarah too on hill run.

yumyumpoppycat · 20/05/2015 16:23

I have been a carb and macdonalds eating machine today ... that can only mean one thing ... totm soon

Fullsteamahead · 20/05/2015 20:55

Evening :)

Yumyum, I'm with you on carb cravings, think its almost TOTM for me too :(
To add to that I seem to have pulled a muscle in the back of my neck on Monday, it's been a little annoying since then but after I did Shoulders and Arms this am it's become really horrid!!! Sitting here feeling sorry for myself, hubby told me no weights until I get better, in truth I think I rushed in too quickly and increased my weights too soon. It doesn't help that my left shoulder is still very dodgy.

Glad it's recovery day tomorrow and then it's Legs workout on Friday.

Think I'll have an early night, that might stop me from eating my fridge too ;)

Boobz · 20/05/2015 21:13

I'm fine! Was an exhausting day yesterday as my plane was delayed by 4 hours so didn't get in until 2am and then had to do the school run at 7am as DH out of town. Certainly took more of a toll this second cycle but I really do think that was mainly getting to bed so late. Have worked the full day today as well and only popping off to bed now, so side effects still seem to be mild thank god.

So 2 days of no work outs so I need to catch up tomorrow and do a double.

What weights are you lifting for shoulders and arms FullSteam?

Yumyum I hope you join us P90X buddies!

Am behind on squat challenge but will start tomorrow. I think there is another thread on here somewhere about this challenge too, in Chat or somewhere? Are you all on there too?!

Good news on dress Purple - I am feeling my skinny clothes are too tight at the moment but then I have to remember I'm only 2 weeks into my new regime and still have 2 weeks to go to get to 51kg down from 54.7 or whatever I am at the moment. Do-able but really need to go to bed now to rest up!

Is everyone using VK now then?

MFP is too much like hard work to keep updated, I struggle to update normal FB, Beachbody MN and my Cancer PR machine to my friends via Whatsapp, text and Skype etc. And working full time and trying to work out too!

Boobz · 20/05/2015 21:19

And 3 children! They really shouldn't have been at the bottom of the list... but I have an amazing nanny which helps them not rise to the top of "admin" to keep on top of like the rest of my list was!

Purpleraindeer · 21/05/2015 08:50

Hey fullsteam. I hear you on the neck pain. I've pulled something in my shoulder and has been sore for ages. I keep making it worse by doing press ups but I get the fear that I'll lose my fitness if I take a few days off. Yes - that is mental, I know!

Boobz - glad you're ok. Sounds like a v hardcore day even without the chemo. Am glad it was ok. You're obv someone who really thrives on being busy! And Grin re the kids being admin! Mine aren't admin. They're mess.

I'm not on mfp at the mo. I can't be bothered to log foods and I'm not eating too well anyway. My downfall is hoovering up the kids food if they don't finish it. Turns out veg purée is yummy if you're hungry

I've only been on vk to get fitness videos. I don't use it for anything else. I don't really 'get' Facebook etc as i am a massive Luddite.

Rest day for me. Yay. I feel achy today so enjoyed not putting my workout clothes on this am. Smile

Have a good day all.

Sarahlouboo · 21/05/2015 20:55

Happy rest day Purple!

Sarahlouboo · 21/05/2015 21:00

Whoops premature post!

Well done on the cocktail dress too! Always a good feeling. You need to organise a night out now so you have an excuse to wear it.

Boobz, your day sounded very taxing, hope you are feeling half decent today. Don't blame you for not doing MFP.

I am On my phone so I can't flick up and down and respond to everyone else's comments - v.frustrating.

Did about ten miles (walk) last night and really enjoyed it, wasn't too aching today but shattered. Rest day today.

Sarahlouboo · 21/05/2015 21:04

Fullsteam - hope your shoulder is feeling better?

Yumyum, sorry for leading you astray with the squats!

Jackster - ikwym re doing old DVDs and not being able to tell the difference because you have stepped it up a gear! I still find JM DVDs hard but I do the advanced version of most exercises now whereas I prob moderated mostly before but it's hard to remember. Grin

Boobz · 22/05/2015 07:21

I am going to go off hyrbrid schedule slightly as I feel like I need to up my Shaun T time, so am going to do a Max Sports Training + Cardio Abs this morning, even though it's supposed to be some recovery routine.

Have written there so I must do it now! And I still haven't started the squat thing - argh - do you all spread them out during the day or do them all in a one-er?

Purpleraindeer · 22/05/2015 11:54

Hope you got thru your work out boobz. Do you find there is an effect from the chemo?

Did max cardio this am. For the first time I was able to get thru a whole month 2 workout without maxing out. It is def the easiest one and doesn't have any of the super hard press up sets but I was pleased.

Sarahlouboo · 22/05/2015 13:09

Well done Purple!

I have dropped out of squat challenge - too knee crunchy without music Shaun T to cover up the yucky noise. Rubbish excuse I know!

I going to drop off the radar for a bit as my parents are visiting and I don't fancy doing T 25 in front of them! Going to do some more running instead and hopefully come back to T25 fresh! X

Jacksterbear · 22/05/2015 14:21

Great progress purple, well done.

Did you do the workouts Boobz? I do the squats all in one go for the moment, but once there are lots more I may have to split them up!

Have fun with your parents, Sarah. Glad you knew what I was talking about re adjusted expectations!

TBC done today, plus 70 squats. Rest day yesterday. I just have to do PiYo strength circuits over the weekend and then I'm done with the 4 week hybrid! Woo hoo! poppy how are you getting on? I know you weren't well - are you planning to re-start the final week next week instead? x

Talking of expectations of yourself... I nearly wimped out of TBC today because I couldn't face it... but then thought ... F* It, I'll just do my best and not expect too much... and weirdly it was then much more bearable, I think because I'd let go of my expectations of doing it well! Weird. Smile

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 22/05/2015 14:49

Jackster 70 squats in one go is awesome, my max so far is 40! I still need to do some squats today, I had a rest yesterday - my thighs - well one of them- was a little sore Blush . I am still coughy and a bit grotty so I have abandoned the hybrid schedule this week but kept things up by doing the shorter piyo workouts this week and T25 speed 1.0 today, I previously swapped 1.0 for 2.0 so don't feel too bad about that. Busy weekend planned and I think I will start BBL next but I will try and fit in drench and TBC at some point over half term. I am going to come up with some kind of BBL and piyo hybrid for the next month, with one p90x workout at weekends.

Sarahlou I hope in law visit goes ok!

Purple high five for max30 victory Grin

My diet is out the window at mo but have set myself a target to loose 10lbs by sep.

spookyskeleton · 22/05/2015 19:55

Hi, I have been really busy at work and after school activities with the DC this week so haven't had a chance to exercise or post here Wink

Love hearing all about the different workouts you are all doing but there is no way I am going near Insanity or P90X Grin

I did Alpha Cardio today - haven't done it for weeks but enjoyed it. I think I am not that bothered about doing the harder one as I know I only have to do it once and then not again for a few weeks rather than when I was following T25, I knew I had to do it again the next week (or in the case of TBC, sometimes 3 times a week!)

Had a reasonably good week diet-wise but I think that was helped by being busy.

Boobz · 22/05/2015 20:23

To be totally honest I got through 40 mins of the work out and then had to stop - felt queezy. Chemo #2 has been a bit harder than chemo #1! I didn't start exercising so close to the actual dose of chemo for the first cycle as I was still waiting for the official 4 weeks to be up from the lumpectomy time out...

Back on it tomorrow though!

Well done to all others!

yumyumpoppycat · 22/05/2015 22:46

Boobz a big hug for you, my friend who has just finished radiotherapy (early 40s) found light exercising did help her with nausea but she also took naps etc!

yumyumpoppycat · 22/05/2015 22:52

ps I think she found days 3,4, 5 not so great each time then would be gradually more back to normal so maybe schedule Boobz versions of rest days then (prob my idea of a full on day!)

Jacksterbear · 23/05/2015 11:27

poppy hope you're feeling a bit better today; well done for doing what you felt up to this week.

Boobz 40 mins is still way above what I and most others did yesterday! Hope you're ok today.

spooky I really like alpha cardio!

Well I have done PiYo strength circuits (accompanied by 4yo DD Grin) and 75 squats, and have FINISHED the 4 week T25/PiYo hybrid. Yay!!

Here is the closest thing I have to a before/after pic. Left was from 3 Feb; right is today. Same weight but (and I know it might just be the slightly different angle/lighting/outfit etc) I think I can see a very subtle improvement in thigh shape - tighter and more toned maybe?! (Possibly wishful thinking though Grin).

I can see a difference jackster. You must be pleased. I also love the work out outfit. Makes me want to upgrade my 'look'! That 4 wks has gone fast. Do you know what you'll do now? Back to some jillian maybe?

Boobz - go easy on yourself. Even without the chemo you had a v busy few days and very little sleep.

Spooky - nice to hear from you. Are you still running? At one point I thought you were training for a half mara?

I did a 4 mile run today which was great. Am going to take the plunge and do a local 10k at the end of June. Exciting. It won't be fast as it's hard for me to run more than once per week but will be fun to do a race again.

Have a good eve all!

spookyskeleton · 23/05/2015 18:32

jackster wow, you look amazing! Love the workout outfit, it looks fab. Much better than my grotty pants and t shirt... when my figure looks like yours, I will also wear kit like that Grin

boobz hope you are resting, you need to listen to your body. 40 minutes is still more than I did Blush

purple yes I was supposed to be running a half marathon at the end of April but my running partner broke her ankle 4 weeks before so I didn't do it. I have lost all motivation for running at the moment and I need to get my mojo back - have done a couple of 5k runs but haven't run for over 2 weeks now! Not sure how to motivate myself - shows how much I was reliant on my friend!

Just done Alpha lower focus - tougher than I remembered Hmm but I enjoyed it.

Really trying to be good today but DH has bought me home some mint matchmakers and toblerone...must stay strong...

Jacksterbear · 23/05/2015 21:13

Mmmh... Matchmakers and toblerone... Smile

Thanks purple and spooky.

Re the outfit - check out the Sports Direct clearout sale on atm! The orange & black stuff is USA pro, massively discounted from sports direct online.

Re what next, am feeling the need for some weights and some JM, so will probably do a week or two of 30DS/RI30. But, think I will also keep some PiYo going. Having been a bit "meh" about it, I now think it might be responsible for the change in body shape (which is what I've been saying for ages I want to achieve: slim and tone lower body, and tone all over, but without necessarily losing any weight overall). Which is v exciting!

I also have Hip hop abs now, so will get into that at some point, although I have a suspicion I will need to mix it up with some less fun / more unpleasant! Grin

Good work on the run purple and well done for signing up to the 10k - good goal to train for.

spooky ikwym re running with a partner - I used to (before it started hurting my knee) go running with my DBro, and it was astonishing how much I was able to push myself (mostly through fear of embarrassing myself / slowing him down etc... classic "little sis wants to keep up with big bro" stuff Grin) compared to running on my own!
