Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

Yes Yumyum - I am starting to learn that Days 3, 4 and 5 are a bit rubbish, but then I have to travel to the UK on Days 19 and 20, and then chemo on Day 21, so out of 3 weeks I am losing nearly a week of training every chemo cycle, and my control freakery is not happy about it!

But I had a GREAT workout yesterday – 30 mins Insane Abs followed by 50 mins P90X Chest and Back and I feel it today all over in that wonderful achy way, so feel redeemed! Annoyingly I have been left to fly solo with the 3DC today as DH has to travel for work so not sure if I will get a work out in unless it’s when they are all in bed (but I am hopeless at working out in the evening, so that’s looking unlikely).

Jackster that’s amazing that the photos are the same weight as you look much more toned in the second – and I second the clothing envy – my stuff is ancient! I did get a bonus from work though in my last pay cheque, completely unexpectedly, so have resolved to actually spend it on me with some decent trainers (rather than paying off the cc debt and booking flights for the holidays which is what this sort of cash always gets spent on!)

Purple - I think I will enter a race as well – it’s been a while. I need to up my running – I user to run for miles and miles when we lived in Kenya, but I just haven’t done it in Rome, so I think you and are both in the same lost-mojo boat Spooky… maybe we can motivate each other somehow – start a challenge? I am part of a Facebook Fitness Group (but it has gone really quiet of late, hence taking up here with you lot instead!) and we used to do lots of challenges and I kept spreadsheets and things (most improved 5km time / round the world relay race where we had to run a certain distance within a certain time and then tag the next person / weight challenges etc).

Littlest child kicking off – back later.

Purpleraindeer · 24/05/2015 19:31

Glad you got a better workout in today boobz.

Spooky I know exactly what you mean re losing running mojo. If I've not been for a while I get 'the fear' and then it gets harder and harder to go. I always love it when I finally do get out there. My main problem is that running gets a bit obsessive for me so I find it hard to accept that I might not be running PBs so feel there's no point in going at all. Am hoping that I can maintain a healthy balance this time and just go out every so often.

Am on my last week of max30 this week. Where has the time gone? I've decided I hate plyo push ups. I can now do about 4. I can look at this in 2 ways - it is 4x more than I could do to start with, or it is only 4. Unfortunately ever the pessimist I'm tending towards thinking the second way!

Boobz · 25/05/2015 12:58

Thanks Purple - plyo push ups with the clap or without? 4 with claps is pretty awesome if you ask me.

Just finished Pure Cardio and Cardio abs. Am struggling to accept my strength and fitness is not coming back as fast as I want it to and/or chemo is affecting my ability to work out like I used to. I used to sail through those workouts together, but this time I had to stop loads and felt weak at the end. And my weight isn't going down either - my goal of 51kg by end of May is not going to happen.

A bit depressed by it all really. I am pissed off I have cancer I suppose. It's really annoying me, now that it's affecting my training. Arse.

Purpleraindeer · 25/05/2015 18:45

Oh boobz it's not like you to be so negative. It is very understandable tho

have you considered doing some totally new form of exercise so you can't compare yourself to how fit you were? Might make it easier than redoing insanity or p90x and feeling bad if it feels hard? What about running but training for a new distance, or a sprint triathlon or cross fit?

I ran 5 miles today and felt good. I've been going out with no watch so there's no pressure re pace. I feel very strong tho and like Sarah, hills I used to struggle on I just power up no problem now. We live in very pretty countryside too so it's just nice to be in the fresh air.

Might do max30 tomorrow or must have a rest day depending on how my legs are.

Purpleraindeer · 25/05/2015 19:01

Oh yes, re press ups - I had no idea there was something as evil as plyo press ups with claps!! I am talking about the normal plyo ones Blush

spookyskeleton · 26/05/2015 07:33

boobz it must be so hard for a superwoman like you to have to take things easy Sad but your body is being put through a lot of trauma and it is probably telling you it needs some rest. Put your feet up and don't feel guilty Grin

Bad weekend (yet again Blush) BBQ with lots of wine on Sunday followed by a recovery McD's brekkie and takeaway pizza for tea yesterday Blush

Anyway, onwards and upwards. Hardcore on the floor tonight - am enjoying the piyo stuff but there is not as much yoga in it as I would like.

Have a good day everyone Smile

Fullsteamahead · 26/05/2015 15:30

Hi guys, sorry for long absence! Never seem to have any time these days!

My neck is still sore :( Boobz, I was using 5 kg weights which is a lot for me as I've had this issue with my left shoulder for a while. I'm now down to a tiny 1.5 kg and judging by the way things are going, will be on that for a while :(

Jackster, you look amazing!!! I remember you saying that you were concerned about your inner thighs, but I really can't see any problem with them, wish my thigs were as slim as yours! Must check the Sports Direct too.

Purple, well done on entering the race and doing 5 miles the other day. I'm being "stalked" by a very friendly elderly neighbour who loves to do dog walking together. Been doing walks every day with her last week so only managed one run!

I'm in the same boat with regards to losing the mojo at the moment. Can't quite figure out why. Feeling like I have to force myself to work out every day, the weight has stagnated again and has even crept up a bit in the last couple of days (maybe just water retention though) I've decided to have a break from MFP for a little while, I feel I need a bit of freedom after trying so hard to be good for all this time. Ok, enough moaning, I've still got today's workout to do plus 100 squats!

Boobz, take it easy on yourself, dropping weight should be the last thing on your list just now! :)

Spooky, I've been on the loose with my eating too, including homemade cake yesterday and McD with DS for lunch today. Oh well, must workout hard today :)

Boobz · 26/05/2015 16:34

Thanks for the kick up the bum Purple - I think I am just scared I am going to get "chemo chub" and try as I might, I think having this bloody disease is going to take its toll whether I like it or not. I know I need to give myself a break, but I just hate having worked so hard all year to then start getting a muffin top! I am a bit obsessed though, I know.

Anyway, I seem to be doing better now - I did P90X Shoulders & Arms and Ab Ripper X today and feel good, and have eaten really well since Monday morning so I think I am back on track after my mini moan. I am going to do a Month 2 Insanity work out tomorrow, even though my hybrid schedule says I should be doing Max Recovery - I may do Insane Abs as well, just to see if I can still do a monster work out. I'm not likely to work out Thurs and Fri due to travelling to the UK again, so need to log my work out hours while I can!

Oh and I'm taking a month off booze I've decided. I think that's been my biggest problem with cheating from The Zone!

Purpleraindeer · 27/05/2015 10:32

Hope your monster workout went ok. Having now done a month 2 insanity I do admire the commitment of anyone who can do an hour, then start another workout. 30mins is enough for me!!

Does the fact that you still have hair now mean that it prob won't fall out? Hope so. Although you do have the fendi (I think you said?) headscarf to fall back on.....

I did another max30 and got through it non stop. Can't do the wide in and out abs or single arm burpees as fast as they do but can keep up with all the rest so that's definitely progress. I am feeling a bit max30 jaded tho so am pleased it's my last week. I need something else. Not sure what tho - my friend has borrowed t25 (curses!) so can't do a hybrid. Will have to have a think. Maybe some jillian - although I find her chat annoying these days.

Hope everyone else is well. Comforting to hear that spooky and fullsteam are struggling with eating. Me too. I've had a lot of chocolate. Yum.

Jacksterbear · 27/05/2015 17:54

Haha spooky I feel exactly the opposite about PiYo - like all the pilstes bits but very unsure about the yoga bits!

Boobz good to hear things are looking up a bit. Hope that continues. Not at all surprising you will have some shit days - but you are still kicking nearly all our butts on the exercise front!

Fullsteam sorry to hear your neck and shoulders are not right and that you're feeling mojo-less. (And thanks for the comments re pic.). Are you still doing the squat challenge? I think I have dropped a day behind but am still in.

Poppy how are you doing?

Purple, sounds like you are doing great, on the exercise front. Good work. Which JM workouts do you have?

Am doing a JM/PiYo mix (of my own devising!) this week: 30DS Ls 1,2,3, with PiYo buns and strength intervals in between shreds. 2 down, 3 to go. JM feels hard on the arms and shoulders after no weights for 4 weeks! Shock

Boobz · 27/05/2015 20:48

Not so monster in the end - it was a Month 2 Insanity work out though which I got all the way through so I feel like I am getting there!

Have to fit in P90X Legs and Back and Ab Ripper X before I get on the plane tomorrow weeeeee!

yumyumpoppycat · 27/05/2015 23:16

Boobz well done on insanity workout - you are pretty amazing!

Fullsteam hope your injury heals up quickly x

Jackster I have started BBL I did the intro workout and the 10 min bum bum rapido yest (ballet moves I think?), today I did cardio axe which I think was zumbaish, pretty easy but fun 30 minutes, but I then tried to do the crunchtastic ab workout and really struggled! Leandro is funny - he says 'vairy naice' a lot and sounds a bit like Borat...he also insists on 'taching your bady' a fair bit too Grin

Glad you are enjoying Piyo spooky - I am getting very confused about what bits are yoga and what bits are pilates!

Purple hi five on getting through max 30 - that went fast! My copy hasn't arrived yet, maybe I will save it for when you can face another round!

Hi to saralou too!

My eating is crappy at the mo too - I think I am due a bit of healthy eating ... after half term of course Wink Anyone up for a sugar free week next week?

Also on theme of challenges maybe we could pick a group JM workout to do next week as seems like a few people are doing those? Level 1 shred is on you tube?

You guys are all great - and I love how we keep plugging away despite ups and downs of mojo!

yumyumpoppycat · 28/05/2015 00:59

Some interesting hybrids including piyo and working towards 5k running thefitnessfocus.com/piyo/piyo-hybrid-workout-schedules-calendar-downloads

stonefree · 28/05/2015 02:10

I am starting T25 again tomorrow. I got about 8 weeks through it in February and March and need to get back into it. I bought that 21 day fix and didn't particularly enjoy it, I think I'm going to send it back.

I NEED to tone up and stop eating rubbish. I'm hoping the support of this thread will help keep me on track.

Boobz · 28/05/2015 07:48

P90X Legs and Back done - off to the airport - see you soon!

Jacksterbear · 28/05/2015 14:06

poppy I would be pmsl @ "vairy naice" and "tach your bady". GrinGrin Yes I'm up for a JM challenge - will have a browse on YouTube to see what's on there. Disappointing there is no HHA/PiYo hybrid listed on that site!

Boobz well done on fitting the workout in and hope the travel goes smoothly.

Welcome stonefree, let us know how you get on.

30DS L2 done today. Very hard on the arms. Had to drop down from 3kgs to 2 kgs in the last circuit (although feel not too bad as that is a notoriously bad circuit, from hanging out on JM threads!).

Purpleraindeer · 28/05/2015 18:28

Welcome stone free!
Rest day for me. No time to fit in a workout due to last minute change of plans (excuses excuses!) but also have horrid summer cold so feeling a bit sorry for myself. I self medicated with food and am off out for dinner tonight so will see if wine cures it Grin

Defo up for Jm challenge. I have quite the collection - shred, ripped in 30, nmtz, 6week 6 pack. Also discovered killer buns and thighs which I've never even done Blush

2kg weights still sounds good to me jackster. The weights I have are 2.2kg. Or maybe that's 2.2lb which is 1kg?! God that's pathetic. Must get some new weights

Purpleraindeer · 28/05/2015 18:39

Just checked my weights - they're 2.27kg. Might get some 4kg ones too but am worried my weedy little arms couldn't handle it!

stonefree · 28/05/2015 22:40

So I did cardio this morning and it wasn't too bad. The only problem is now I'm out of sync with the programme. On Monday i'm not sure whether to start week 1 from the beginning or just go straight into week 2.

I'm just in from work (I'm not in the UK) and have nothing to do so am tempted to fit in another workout, maybe Speed 1.0. Will my muscles hate me in the morning though...?

yumyumpoppycat · 28/05/2015 22:50

Just call it your fri double up stonefree and strike while the iron's hot Grin

Purple I had some kind of JM box set most of which I never got round to so think I have all those too Blush

I secretly quite like airports Boobz, coffee, magazines, beauty products, 'people watching' ... must get tedious if you have to go there a lot though.

yumyumpoppycat · 28/05/2015 22:57

Oh stone, i would prob carry on with week 1 over the weekend and have a midweek rest instead but seeing as you have done 8 weeks before fairly recently its prob no biggie if you skip on to week 2 on mon if you prefer?

stonefree · 28/05/2015 23:55

I accidentally ate too much dinner so there's no way I'm jumping about now Yum! Yeah I agree with you, I think starting week 2 on monday is for the best. I'm feeling pretty motivated. Let's hope I keep it up over the weekend when I'm hungover.

spookyskeleton · 29/05/2015 09:23

stonefree welcome Smile

I have never done any JM stuff - am happy sticking to my T25/piyo hybrid at the moment.

My exercise has completely derailed this week Sad mixture of kids, work, Take That concerts. Am going to do Gamma Pyramid shortly and then can do one more tomorrow and then away until Tuesday night do won't be able to do anything till Wednesday! Damn life getting in the way Wink

How is the squat challenge going everyone?

Fullsteamahead · 29/05/2015 21:47

Hello everybody! Thank god it's friday!!!

I've had a crap week, no exercise yesterday or today partly due to sore neck and partly due to going out for coffee/cakes/wine with friends on both days!

I'm now a day behind with squat challenge, I'm, however, determined to rectify the situation and catch up with all my workouts over the weekend. My mojo is slowly starting to come back, or wait, maybe it's just my ever expanding stomach is trying to tell me something! Lol

Boobz, are you on the same week as me? I'm on recovery week now with all those core Synergistics and yoga! I couldn't believe my eyes the other day when I saw that yoga workout is 1.5 hours long! I was very pleased with myself when I managed to do The Wheel pose, but there was no way I could manage The Crane, I kept landing on my head like a complete idiot!

I've been following someone's Insanity diary on VK and she has now moved onto P90X, well she has chosen P90X2 after some long research and lots of debating and is highly praising it. I had a quick look and I think it actually looks better than P90X. Think I'm going to do it at some point.

Hope you all have a fab weekend and thank you all for supporting me through a rubbish week, promise to be on my best behaviour and back to hard core exercising next week! You girls are such a great bunch!

Sarahlouboo · 30/05/2015 12:46

Hi everyone! I have a lot of catching up to do. Going to have a proper read later on. Had a lovely time with my mum and dad. Got a couple of long walks in too. Been for a run this morning...I need to get back on it!

Happy Saturday everyone x
