Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

It's p90x3. Am starting to really enjoy it
Did agility x tonight. Managed to get the tape on the floor with the right measurements this time. But some moves were still impossible. I'm assuming that it's just harder for me at 5ft 2 to do a 4ft lunge than it is for a 6ft man. Or that's my excuse at least!Grin

Well done on the treadmill work out. You've given me a flashback to the Barry's class I went to with boobz - the treadmill bit was so hard I was nearly sick!

yumyumpoppycat · 12/11/2015 09:06

Well done Sarahlou and Purple!

I did yoga again today - not sure why I am doing it so much as I can't do most of it! I def know what you mean sarah diet esp feels like that, but I think because I am doing so pants at the exercise bit I just see it as a bonus when I exercise and give myself a free pass if I don't.

Purpleraindeer · 12/11/2015 09:19

Poppy - can you do all the moves in agility x? The tape just seems too long for all the lunges. My legs don't stretch that far?

yumyumpoppycat · 12/11/2015 17:01

No I am pretty sure I can't! I will pay more attention so we can compare notes next time Grin I don't think I can do any of the workouts without cheating modifiying tbh!

yumyumpoppycat · 12/11/2015 17:06

Thinner leaner stronger is coming up on lightning deals on amazon. eleanor recommended it.

Purpleraindeer · 14/11/2015 11:39

Bought thinner leaner stronger (thanks poppy!) then read a bit of it sat on the sofa eating chocolates! Grin

Also dos warrior and cvx over last 2 days so maybe it evened out?

yumyumpoppycat · 14/11/2015 12:02

Grin Did you like cvx? Did kettlebell workout yest will try to fit something p90x3 ish later.

Hope you are recovering well Boobz xx

Purpleraindeer · 14/11/2015 12:07

did

Boobz · 14/11/2015 18:09

Hello all! Thanks for the well wishes!

Did a Barry's with DH on Wednesday which was great - really enjoyed it (but you were missed Purple). It was Taylor, my favourite... but probably not wise to do a "Chest and Abs" work out just before a chest op - my boobs were already aching when I turned up for surgery on Thursday!

So surgery went well - no spread to lymph nodes and I got to keep both my nipples! TMI probably, sorry.

It's all pretty swollen at the moment - they feel huge but will be interesting to see how the settle down - am glad to have perkier boobs but don't want a black eye doing Shaun T!

CAN'T WAIT to get back into exercise - I hope I can do some low impact stuff soon - need to chat to physio about that before I leave tomorrow I hope.

Purpleraindeer · 14/11/2015 20:33

Hi boobz. Great to hear from you! I've been wondering how you were. You sound very chipper. I'm glad it's gone well and you're feeling ok. Please listen to the physio re getting back into it. I bet you're the only patient they have who was aching before surgery as a result of a workout!

Poppy - I love both cvx and warrior. They're my fave of the p90x3. I find both hard though. I'm enjoying the greater focus on strength and my abs are stronger after 2 weeks.

Finally got chin up bar. DH can do 3. I can do 1 (but only chin up). I can't even get beyond just hanging there for a pull up. Blush. Boobz - how did you build up your strength to do them as I can't quite work out where to start if I can't even lift up a little bit. My resistance bands are too stretchy to give any assistance. Perhaps whilst you're recuperating you can be my pull up coach?!

yumyumpoppycat · 15/11/2015 22:38

Hi Boobz that is all amazing news! Great to hear you are doing well!

Purple I decided to do move furniture in our dining room and do Agility in there for more space. I followed the 4ft x 4ft instructions and it was def a bit too tricky for the jumping from x to x routine near the beginning - I am 5ft4. I think Lauren in the dvd has her tapes a bit closer together. Brill that you can do a pull up.

yumyumpoppycat · 16/11/2015 11:17

Didnt exercise yest and did my new fav cvx this morning as feeling periody and yuk, dc bit under weather not wanting to go to school etc.

If anyone can find cvx on vk give it a try Grin I took my weight down a bit and liked it much more! So funny tony adds weight to make cardio less boring, other way round for me!

onlywhenyouleave · 16/11/2015 12:08

Hey everyone Smile

boobz glad to hear the operation went well and I hope you are resting - plenty of time for workouts later!

yumyum just had a quick look at cvx, it does look good. Might give it a try tomorrow.

I am being dragged to a spinning class shortly - haven't done one for years and not sure my legs will take it Grin

Hope everyone else is OK.

Eleanor would love to hear how the body coach is working out.

Purpleraindeer · 16/11/2015 19:47

Hi only - how was spinning? I used to love it. It's knackering tho. Am sure you dug deep!

Poppy have you done 'the challenge'? Omg. I did it today. Holy cr@p. Am dying. Did pull ups with my feet on a chair so wasn't obv supporting my whole weight and it worked ok. My arms and back are knackered now tho. I doubt I'll be able to lift my arms tomorrow morning. Shock

onlywhenyouleave · 16/11/2015 20:29

It was OK, it was only half an hour and I didn't feel I got an amazing workout tbh. I feel much more knackered after 25 minutes with Shaun T!

yumyumpoppycat · 16/11/2015 20:55

Ooh well done both Star Star. I conveniently haven't found the pull up bar yet so challenge awaits Blush

Purpleraindeer · 16/11/2015 21:19

Only - perhaps you're lots fitter now so spin isn't as hard? Smile

Purpleraindeer · 16/11/2015 21:23

Sorry only - please don't read my post as sarcastic. I re-read it and it looked like it was Blush
I bet it is all that t25 that makes spin seem easier

onlywhenyouleave · 16/11/2015 21:34

Ha I didn't read it as sarcastic at all!

Maybe you are correct but I have been slacking on the exercise front recently so not sure Hmm

I also did a core conditioning class afterwards which I didn't really enjoy and I was rubbish at - had to hold plank for 30 seconds x 3. Could do the first one but not the second and third Blush didn't help that the class was full of slim, fit people... And then me Grin

Wow on the chin ups - great work everyone

Purpleraindeer · 18/11/2015 20:27

I've just been reading 'thinner leaner stronger'. Was a bit of a revelation re diet. Basically his point is that once you get below say 30pc body fat if you're not careful when you go into calorie deficit you just lose muscle. He gives a recommendation to eat of 1.2g of protein per lb of weight (for me c150g). I went on mfp and logged my normal eating and I've managed about 80g so far - perhaps will get to 100g if I have a yoghurt. I seriously can't work out how to eat that much protein without eating too many cals or resorting to protein shakes.

Anyway - sorry for the diet geek chat...

Rest day for me. Yay Smile

Purpleraindeer · 20/11/2015 06:28

It's so quiet on here? I presume you're all out there digging deep!
Total synergistics last night. and hopefully warrior later today.
In an effort to eat more protein I have discovered what a protein pancake is. Sounds quite nice! I'd rather have a normal one covered with syrup tho Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 20/11/2015 17:31

Well done Purple - my book has arrived now so will be joining you with pancakes! So far the book makes sense. Hope everyone ok!

Jacksterbear · 20/11/2015 19:36

Hey guys. Been getting further and further behind with keeping up with the thread, so thought I'd just do a quick post to break the cycle and get back into the thread, iykwim, and then will go back and try to catch up with all the news.

Hope you're all ok. I've been exercising but nothing new and exciting, just sticking to old and familiar stuff for the moment!

This week: M - Hip Hop Abs (hips buns and thighs), T - spin at gym, W - combat at gym, Th - rest, F - Jillian's "No more trouble zones".

Oooh good work Jackster! I have done only done one or two this week eek, too busy shopping online for christmas bargains

Boobz · 22/11/2015 11:28

Hello all! How is everyone getting on?

Obviously I'm not posting much as there is little to report, exercise wise! I am now 10 days post mastectomy and recon, and healing well. The boobs are still ridiculous but I am getting used to them, slowly. The surgeon has said not to get too attached to the current aesthetic (massive and round) as the swelling will go down leaving a smaller and uneven surface which he will even out with liposcultping at a later date (this was all over text message). I sent him a message in the first place to say a huge thanks for allowing me to OWN the pencil test (a whole pencil case would clatter to the floor right now) but also because I got my pathology back on Friday which said CANCER FREE! Wooo! A complete response to the chemo, which is really important for me as I have a rare type of BC called Triple Negative, which needs a complete response to get the best prognosis rates (which I now have). Obviously a huge relief for my DH and I - that this has all been worth it! I don't actually see him until Wednesday, so it'll only be at that point which he sees them and can tell me how I am getting on.

I have lost weight as well, which is a bonus, and clothes are looser. But obviously am not more toned and am still dying to get fit again, which I don't think I can't start to do until late September. And I can't get too thin ir else he won't have any fat to take from one area of my body to transfer to my boobs to even out those lumps and bumps which are no doubt hiding under the swelling.

Purple re pull/chin ups - I have to use a chair - Tony H shows you how on P90X - you put one leg on the chair which helps you do the pull up so at least you are achieving something akin to a pull up until you can start doing them un-aided - a bit like having your knees on the floor for press ups until you can do it properly. You should be able to google something on youtube to show you if you can't find the "back and shoulders" P90X vid on VK.

Hope everyone is well! I will post a boob shot eventually if anyone is interested (clothed, obvs!) Am not checking this so excuse any typos.
