Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

Argh - I meant speed 1.0!
Just did insanity cardio power and resistance to complete the insanity challenge. It was a day late, but I've actually exercised 6 of 7 days so am pretty pleased with that.
I really enjoyed insanity week so will definitely do some more of them - particularly cardio and resistance which I thought was great. I didn't like the 1hr long work outs tho. I found the millions of water breaks frustrating.
I'm going to start p90x3 tomorrow. Will do classic I think. Will be fun to compare notes poppy!

Glad you had a good hol jackster. When you said you were only eating kebabs ice cream and beer I thought yum what a delicious diet! Grin

Boobz · 02/11/2015 13:11

Ooooh, OK I will do P90X3 as well then - I'm liking the comparing notes thing - is there a specific order to do them in? Will google.

FINALLY the kids have gone back to school. Which you would think means I would have already done my work out by now as I don't have them distracting me, but here I am, seemingly procrastinating. I can't wait for this surgery to be done so I can go back to work - I am going a bit loopy with all this time off and child caring.

This is Brilliant - I reckon we should all get matching high waisted leotards and do a Beach Body routine together and put it on the web.

Boobz · 02/11/2015 13:42

OK Total Synergistics it looks like.

Boobz · 02/11/2015 14:19

Hmm. Total lack of core strength I think. So many moves needed good core strength and I now realise I am very behind on that area!

A nice change of pace though, I guess. I am so used to sweating like a loon, that any kind of work out like that doesn't feel like a work out, even though it is really really hard to do all the moves well.

Those "crawly plyo push ups" were well weird.

Think I am going to do the doubles regime so Agility X and Dynamix tomorrow.

(Am going to feel it in back tomorrow from all those pull ups too - been a long time!)

Boobz · 02/11/2015 14:20

Oh and Drea has been working out since P90X - she is even more muscly but thinner too!

onlywhenyouleave · 02/11/2015 14:41

boobz love it but I do prefer this version Taylor swift Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 02/11/2015 16:58

Ha ha love it Grin are the perms optional ;)

So...... poorly today , think a virus, my back (middle spiney bit) aches when I walk and head pounding etc despite ibuprofen etc. So been pathetic but I think plyo pushups etc might have been a step too far. Really hope I feel normal tomorrow and can catch up.

onlywhenyouleave · 02/11/2015 17:43

yumyum hope you feel better soon Flowers

Well I have let my 9 year old choose my workout tonight - he has chosen Extreme Circuit. I am about to jump back on the bandwagon Confused

Purpleraindeer · 02/11/2015 20:32

Poppy Flowers. Plyo push ups are not a cure for illness. That's what the sofa is for!

Only Grin at your ds choosing extreme circuit for you. Ha ha. He was never going to chose something to ease you back in. Hope you enjoyed it.

I did my first p90x3 today - synergistics like boobz. I spent a lot of it going Hmm as the moves were mostly new so I'm not sure I got the full benefit. It didn't help that I don't have a pull up bar and my resistance band is a bit too stretchy so I didn't get much of a work out on the pull up moves. and crawly plyo push ups - wtf?! I agree with you boobz - if I'm not dripping sweat at the end I don't feel like I've tried. I might need heavier weights tho which would make it harder. I only have 4kg ones. Should I use 8kg? And I was a bit Shock at Tony hortons cheesy lines. He was perving all over the 2 girls in it. So overall verdict - I think I need to do it a few more times to start to enjoy it.....

I won't be able to keep up with boobz on doubles. I'm aiming for 5 work outs per week.

Have a good evening all!

Boobz · 03/11/2015 08:34

Tony does take some getting used to - he is Mr Cheese! I would say he grows on you, but I'm not sure he does.... (he is just as pervy in P90X original, but also over the boys!)

I totally know what you mean - I spent so much time trying to get the moves right that it wasn't really a work out, but I think once we are better at them then it will be much better (never going to be able to do a crawly plyo push up though - made DH do them in his work suit as he was going out of the house and he did them well, so it can be done, apparently).

You need a pull up bar. In answer to your question a while back, I could do exactly no push ups at the beginning of training back in 2012 (post DS) and by the end of P90X I could do 8 unaided pull ups .

At the beginning of Insanity/P90X hybrid with FullSteam (which we abandoned!) I could do 2.

I can now do 1, and it's only going to get worse as I am having both boobs removed a week on Thursday so I don't think my pull up count is going to improve until well into January!

Poppy hope you are feeling better; Only - how was your Extreme Circuit?!

Right, Agility X here I come - will report back.

Boobz · 03/11/2015 08:37

*pull ups not push ups

Boobz · 03/11/2015 09:06

Ok I just don't like it.

Am going back to Insanity tomorrow - month 2 work out. I need to sweat.

yumyumpoppycat · 03/11/2015 11:15

Feeling a lot better today thanks!

Oh no really sorry you guys don't like p90x3. I figured classic would be harder than Lean but maybe not. I did agility x today and my heart sank when I saw it was that one up as I knew it wouldn't go down well - whats with the beyoncification and ring a round a rosey! From the Lean workouts I did last week or so Accelerator was the most sweaty and cvx was quite evenly paced with weights and pretty fun, and I liked the MMX martial arts one which I accidentally did from block 2 - but yes much more doable than insanity max 30. Hope you find p90x3 workouts you like purple.

yumyumpoppycat · 03/11/2015 11:17

more doable apart from plyo pushups that is Grin

Boobz · 03/11/2015 11:45

Oh that's a good idea - maybe I will do Insanity Max 30 instead, for some variety.

Purpleraindeer · 03/11/2015 15:52

Yes yes - Deffo do max30!
I recommend max out sweat for maximum sweatiness. And Friday fight round 2 for just being absolutely nails.
Is p90x3 v different to p90x as I thought you liked p90x so I assumed you'd like p90x3 too? I'm definitely going to carry on with p90x. Am going to do all the workouts and see which ones I like then maybe do a hybrid. Will look into pull up bar as I'm determined to get to the point where I can do at least 1. Am not hardcore enough to beat boobz target of 8
No workout tonight as am going out. Agilityx tomorrow. Not sure how I put tape on the floor and how DH will feel about that in our living room.....

Boobz · 03/11/2015 16:43

It's nothing like P90X so far, but then I have only done 2 work outs. Will give it another shot tomorrow and see if third time's a charm. I did indeed love P90X. Yes you deffo need a pull up bar (but there are millions of pull ups in the original P90X so it's no surprise you can do 8 of them after 90 days...)

yumyumpoppycat · 03/11/2015 18:14

Have you seen the summaries of the workouts Boobz? The challenge sounds like a nightmare - pullups and pushups stacked.

Purple I used decorator tape last time which peels off easily, but I was a cheapskate and stuck 6 address labels down this time and now can't get them up!

Loungingbutnotforlong · 03/11/2015 18:55

Hello all, hope you don't mind me gate crashing. I have a question on beach body, if you don't mind. I love the look of the beach body programmes (and the weight loss stories are a huge inspiration)! However, I have only recently started sorting out my diet and doing a beginners running programme, so I am not very fit- could beach body be for me, or a waste of money until I am fitter? I am liking the look of Piyo, focus t25 or maybe px90 3.
Thanks in advance.

Boobz · 03/11/2015 19:17

I did P90X (the original) with very little fitness when DS was 6 mo and I had just stopped feeding. I was about 2 stone overweight and could barely run for 5km without wheezing and stopping.

So yes I think you can do it at any fitness.

Loungingbutnotforlong · 03/11/2015 19:46

Smile hi boobz- thank you! It us very inspiring reading this thread- you are all so on it!
Just need to pick one now.

yumyumpoppycat · 03/11/2015 21:06

There are some links to V K some kind of russian facebook where you can watch lots of the videos and suss out which workouts to try. I would say T25 is a good starting point.

Loungingbutnotforlong · 03/11/2015 21:11

Thanks yumyum- think that one is going on my Christmas list!

Purpleraindeer · 03/11/2015 21:13

I agree re t25. I started it after no exercise for a few years and a 9 week old baby. I was much less fit than boobz - no way I could have run 5k when I started. Was v hard to start with but got easier and in conjunction with diet really delivered results. Definitely go for it!
There is also a Russian you tube site where I found all the insanity videos which might have t25 too.

Boobz · 04/11/2015 09:51

Ok going to do a Max Insanity 30 work out, plus P90X Ab Ripper X.

Have been looking at a load of sports gear for DH to buy me for Christmas, as I noticed the last time I was at Barry's, I was still wearing the sports gear I had bought to go on our first posting out of the UK (so 2010!) and everyone else was wearing what looked to be "Sports lux", and very expensive. I realised I need to up my game.

And now I am all psyched for my post boob-job body. I just want to be uber fit again - argh!

Have also just signed up for Rome marathon, and that Toughest event, both in April, so I obvs need some new gear to help me train.
