Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

Can you type a typical day so we can analyse?

Hihellohi · 28/10/2015 18:31

Ok so today:
I had 30g of porridge made with 100ml of water and 100ml semi skimmed milk and a few (mayb 10) raisins dropped in and a half teaspoon of honey
Lunch: daal style lentil soup - would say about 250ml
A pear at about 5pm
And for dinner I will have two grilled lamb chops and salad with no dressing

I don't drink alcohol anyway if that helps.

yumyumpoppycat · 28/10/2015 20:40

Hihello Are you breastfeeding your 6 month old or still getting up in the night? Both of those can prevent weightloss. Fingers crossed it will drop soon as it sounds like you are doing everything right really.

yumyumpoppycat · 28/10/2015 20:44

You could drop the honey and or raisins in your porridge and replace them with seeds or chopped nuts and cinnamon?

Hihellohi · 28/10/2015 21:08

Thanks for your advice yumyum
I am getting up in the night, I would say maybe twice and no not breastfeeding.
I don't know, sometimes I think it's so much effort and boring to eat such boring food and I'm still seeing no changes I might as well just eat what I want.
If I was eating a bag of crisps or a few biscuits everyday like I used to then at least I could point to that and say "ok that's where you're going wrong"

Anyway back to being positive. Onwards and upwards via no flabby tummy! Let's do this!!

Purpleraindeer · 28/10/2015 21:13

I agree that doesn't sound like much. Have you tried using myfitnesspal to count calories just to check what a week looks like? I found that things I thought were good for me (seeds) had loads of calories so I was inadvertently eating a lot more than I thought. I ate between 1200 and 1400 cals per day and lost 1.5- 2lbs per week. I was breast feeding which probably helped a bit.

yumyumpoppycat · 28/10/2015 22:56

weightloss is a pita! Just to make things even more confusing not eating enough can apparently stall weightloss so like Purple says maybe weigh your food and log it on My fitness pal for a week to see whats going on.

EleanorAbernathy · 28/10/2015 23:02

Evening :)
To whoever it was that asked, the secret to perfect protein pancakes is..... a tiny little egg-sized frying pan that I got for about £1.99 in Home Bargains!

Boobz that was one of my favourite Insanity workouts too - in fact I liked month 2 a lot better than month 1 - I just wish they weren't so long.

Hi HiHelloHi and welcome - I also think it doesn't look like you're eating enough. I think I was eating about 1000-1400 calories a day when I was doing Insanity, and although I did lose weight it was very slowly, about 4-5lbs all together I think.

I'm doing the Body Coach plan at the moment and am now losing fat off the bits I thought I was stuck with - and I put a few days worth into MyFitnessPal as I was curious and it turned out I was actually eating between 1700-2000 calories a day, I didn't even think I burned that many! (I don't work for them and am not trying to sell it - I'm just finding it really works and I get to eat lots of food)
The basics are it's low carb for the first month, with some carbs in the meal after the workout to replace glycogen. I'm in the 2nd month now and it's carbs EVERY meal on workout days, low carb on rest days - with weight training added on the workout days.

A lot of people on the Facebook groups are recommending a book called Thinner Leaner Stronger - may be worth a look? I've read the first bit but it's all about willpower which I have - I'm waiting for the bit that says what to eat and what exercise to do!

EleanorAbernathy · 28/10/2015 23:08

Oh and here's my protein pancakes! First pic is my latest ones, 2nd is a crap earlier attempt Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 28/10/2015 23:16

Wow they look amazing Eleanor Grin fantastic that the body coach is working for you!

Boobz · 29/10/2015 09:54

HiHello - I think you might need to go and see the GP to rule out an under-active thyroid or something, as with that diet and portion size, and the amount of exercise you are doing, you should really be losing weight at a rate of knots. Have you lost weight and replaced it with muscle from Insanity - have you seen your body shape change?

Sorry - really don't know what's going on if you don't drink, don't load up on carbs and don't generally overeat, as well as doing an hour's Insanity every day, 6 days a week - I am completely stumped as to why you haven't lost more! I wouldn't recommend cutting down further from your list below, as you will probably pass out during Insanity!

A trip to the doc's I reckon...

Boobz · 29/10/2015 09:56

Hmmm, what work out to do today? Have to do a shortish one I think as lots to get done today - Plyometric Cardio Circuit it is.

Jacksterbear · 29/10/2015 11:10

Hi all from Cyprus! Lovely here. Have worked out x3; 2 more to go (tmrw and Sat) and will have met holiday workout goal. Floors in our villa are those very smooth, very shiny tiles that get hellishly slippery at the slightest drop of moisture = nightmare doing sweaty exercise!!

Pancakes look great Eleanor. And also glad the body coach is treating you well.

I like that Insanity workout, Boobz (at least compared to the evil our cardio!)

Hi, welcome and sorry no helpful advice to add to the others', from me.

Waves to everyone else. x

Hi everyone!
This thread is so nice!!
Ok I'll book an appointment and see..
Max recovery today!! Can relax a little Wink

onlywhenyouleave · 30/10/2015 09:30

Hey everyone...HELP ME!! I have well and truly fallen off the wagon and can't seem to get back on Haloween Sad

I am eating anything and everything in sight and have barely exercised and can tell the weight is piling back on.

I need a slap, a pep talk and some motivation Halloween Confused

Purpleraindeer · 30/10/2015 10:09

Hi only - I hate that feeling - when you feel you're 'too far gone' and you just can't get back into it. You can tho - you did it once - you can do it again. Why don't you do a challenge - 3 of your fave workouts in 3 days or something? I bet once you're back exercising the eating will resolve itself.

Did insanity plyo circuit this am (the shorter one) I really enjoyed it. But I just don't get the timer bar on the bottom of the screen. It always seems to be showing the first bit as yellow? Surely it should gradually all go yellow as you get further thru the workout?

Jacksterbear · 30/10/2015 15:20

Purple, the Insanity timer bars confuse me too!

Only, for me the only thing that works when I am in that kind of negative spiral is to set very tiny goals - maybe just one workout or one day (even one meal) of healthy eating. Then go from there and get back into a positive spiral. If it helps - here is a kick up the butt from me!

Workout 4 of the week done (PiYo Core) - just Speed 1.0 to go. Have been living on kebabs, beer and ice cream this week!! Shock

Boobz · 31/10/2015 10:06

Only - I was the same as you about two weeks ago, and Purple set me the Gamma Challenge and then I set the Insanity challenge, and I started 4:3 (ish) fasting and that kick started everything - fitness slowly coming back, and have shed a couple of kilos weight wise...

I am going to set another challenge starting on Monday, as it's really helped!

Just done Pure Cardio - am out for a curry tonight so needed to earn it! Challenge complete.

Purpleraindeer · 31/10/2015 16:02

Well done boobz!
It's my bday and Dh and I went for a run today (our first together since I got pregnant with dd 3.5yrs ago!). It was great!
And even better, DH got me p90x3. Yay! Will start that next week. Will do insanity cardio power and resistance tomorrow to complete my insanity challenge. Is that a good one boobz?
Also - can anyone actually do a chin up? I quite like the idea of setting that as a challenge for myself but I don't know how hard it is

yumyumpoppycat · 31/10/2015 16:46

Happy birthday Purple Grin I cant do a chin up but if you google it is possible to rig up resistance bands so you can do one using that to take some weight, not sure I would want to try that without dp nearby though.

Hooray re p90x3! Can I restart with you? will you be doing classic?

Only I am terrible for not sticking at it consistently and have failed towards the end of this week as organising stuff for kids inc a halloween party for my now 5 year old. Always going to be hard in half term though. Kick up the bum for me and you Halloween Smile we will get ON IT next week. We just have to keep in mind all the (potentially 100s) of workouts and healthier food we will have eaten over the course of the year as a result of keeping trying to stay on it rather than the other stuff!

yumyumpoppycat · 31/10/2015 16:57

Sorry Purple I got carried away, lets try again Flowers Happy Birthday! Flowers
Wine Cake Halloween Grin

Jacksterbear · 31/10/2015 17:45

Happy bday Purple FlowersCake. I don't think I've ever tried a chin up (not even sure I know what one is - as opposed to a pull up - tbh! Confused) but I think I can safely say given my crap upper body strength that I could not do one.

Final holiday workout done yay! Home tmrw boooo!

Enjoy curry Boobz.

poppy - good point re workouts and healthier food choices mounting up over the year.

onlywhenyouleave · 31/10/2015 18:05

Thanks everyone Smile I will get back on it on Monday with a fast day and 1 workout (and maybe a run with friends in the evening). I would blame half-term but the slide started weeks before that Halloween Blush

purple happy birthday Cake would love to have my birthday on Halloween - bet it is fab!

I have access to all the stuff on VK so does anyone want to suggest a workout on Monday for me (bearing in mind I am not at Insanity fitness levels Halloween Grin)

No way could I do a chin up - at 15 stone, my arms would need to be of Hulk proportions Halloween Grin

Purpleraindeer · 01/11/2015 08:48

So i know so little about chin ups that I thought a chin up and a pull up were the same thing Blush
I looked at that thing with the resistance band. That looks precarious!

Purpleraindeer · 01/11/2015 14:48

Only - what about speed 2.0? Or your favourite piyo?
