For all those doing any of Jillian Michaels' exercise programmes, welcome - the old thread is here if you want to check back.

Marking place for tomorrow which will be week 6 of Body Rev for me - nearly half way through!

Got up at six thirty to do the morning of the One Week Shred. She's got a dude to do one the advanced version!

I'm a bit shaky now, so I will give a longer report later after doing the cardio this evening.

I'm a little worried about what I have let myself in for!

Imogen - I don't do many reps per set! But I'm starting to try some advice for building strength (which I want for watersports when I can belatedly start them after DD's GCSEs) which is to try to do a few sets of a few reps (even if only 2 or 3) with as heavy a weight as you can manage.

I should have done KB&T 3 this morning but haven't got on with it and I think I want to have a walk in the sun instead when DH gets back from shopping (he sometimes drops DD at the bus stop and then goes straight on.

Errol, also wowed by your strength! Going to try that advice when I get back home to a slightly bigger range of weights.

Good luck raspberry... do report back. What is the one week version like in terms of intensity?

D6L1 30DS done. That is the best I can say about it. Hoping I struggled because it was first thing in the morning following a FD, but I even found the cardio hard. Now off to make another change of habit and have breakfast.

MrsRaspberry set my alarm for early morning too - then switched it off. Looking forward to hearing all about the OWS. Not sure I could cope with two sets of exercise in the one day as I can be quite stiff a few hours later. Hopefully just a matter of sticking with the training.

I've just finished the cardio. Feel like I've just run a short marathon. I've never seen my face this red before. I'm sat here feeling it burning! Now I think the strength this morning was easy.

One arm burpees man! One arm burpees!!!

Heading for cold shower now.

I turn my alarm off in the morning frequently too, Granny! Wish I had this morning!

One arm burpees? I am simultaneously horrified (that they exist) and impressed that you did them.

The feeble and few squat thrusts I managed today suddenly seem a lot less impressive.

MsRaspberryJam · 08/05/2015 18:51

'Did them' is probably a loose description of what I did, Pippi. Fell over on one arm and then launched myself to my feet like an unwell dog is a closer description.

It was horrible! But I am feeling proud for not turning it off. Not convinced I shall attempt it again tomorrow though. Maybe Sunday!

Oh. Er. Hello. Here you all are.
I did go on Guide camp last weekend and have been catching up on sleep and washing since. But I had two afternoons at home when I could have done SOMETHING. DD has been refusing to nap so today I was vvvvvv cruel and put her in her pop up cave (that's what DS calls it, it's a pop up travel cot) and did a lot of stroking and then went out and left her but after 2 mins there was silence.
So I did Yoga Meltdown level 1 for the second time and liked it a lot better.

I am not good at repeating the same thing so I'm going to do a couple more days of Shred and then soon I'll have a swimming slot for ME ALL ME once a week (baby swimming class finishing).

Before we had the DCs people would say "exercise is me time" and I was sceptical. Now I love my time in the pool and use it to solve problems.

Hello all!

Pippi, I have ordered that DVD! Please don't feel guilty if I don't like it. I don't think I've liked any workouts apart from Jillian's... apart from a really easy one from an English woman called Joanna something that came with a fitness magazine c. 2006! Didn't even like Shaun T, and everyone likes Shaun T... and Rosemary Conley isn't my cup of tea, either. If Kettlercise is better than Salsacise, that's all I ask. Grin

Waiting for the inlaws to go out so I can commandeer their living room to do BFBM in. :)

Am really intrigued by the sound of this one week shred!

Has anyone done Extreme Shed and Shred? Very tempted by the reviews on Amazon as I like a good mixture of different exercises.

Drspouse, I agree btw. Exercise time is mine! Except for when my daughter joins in for the first half of 6wk6p, as she did yesterday. She did it all with astonishing ease, too!

I am not doing One Week Shred again today, as I have had a flare up of vertigo, but I plan to do it on Monday. It's really, really effective. Just one day of it and two days of the diet and people have already commented that my tummy looks thinner. I also feel punishingly achey all over, like the first time you ever do the normal Shred from never exercising.

I have done Extreme Shed and Shred, Acquiescent. It's really good for variety. I think it's one of the most fun. She does some kickboxing, some weight training, capoeira, yoga, cardio, everything! It's split into two half an hour workouts, with the option on the DVD to run them both as an hour long workout.

Mildly, es&s is one I've got which I can't see myself wanting to do again, I offered it to anyone who wants it up thread (and/or 6w6p) - I've not checked my mail this weekend but afaik no one else has pm'd me yet to claim it.

Body Rev phase 2 week 7 workout 7. Ugh. The whole of the first circuit is spent in plank, apart from some "jack-knife crunches". I suppose that does mean things can only get better from there. I haven't had a chance to look at workout 8 yet, so tomorrow will be a lovely surprise. Or not.

Oops, fell off the exercise bandwagon, day 5 wednesday, day 6 today. very busy weekend I was actually in the house last night but too knackered to do anything other than clamber upstairs.

Never mind, I'm back on it now (i hope)

I did the morning strength of One Week Shred today, but couldn't face the cardio. Did a level of Kickbox Fastfix instead in the evening.

Really noticing the difference, though. My abs feel like steel. Really painful steel!

Body Rev phase 2 week 7 workout 8. Well, it was better than workout 7, apart from the "weighted warrior 3", which is a form of torture and which I can only do with 1 kg weights - I tried the first time with 2 kg and just collapsed.

Well done for climbing back on the wagon, UmBongo.

MsRaspberry, you're persuading me that I should hang on to the one week Shred - at some point in the next year or two I might manage to do it! Abs of steel I'd like: mine are distinctly doughy in spite of all the Jillian.

Anyone doing the beginner 30ds? I did the normal one last year and loved it but found it hard on my arthritic knees. I found levels 1 & 2 of the beginner Shred much easier on the knees until I started level 3 yesterday which almost killed meShock . Might give it a rest today Wink

I think I did L3 D9 this morning but I've kind of lost count. Anyway nearly done with my 30DS.

I'm under instructions from the nurse to go for a run (it's what seems to trigger asthma). Haven't been for a run for about 3 years. Help!

NMTZ today. BFBM tomorrow.
Didn't do much over the weekend so feel quite motivated to not 'phone anything in' these weekday mornings!
Interested to learn about the heavier weights Errol so I think I will abandon the kettlebell distraction and invest in heavier dumbbells instead.
May invest in Extreme Shred as well, as have given up on Hard Body.
Respect to Mrs RJ for the one arm burpees Star! They are the moves I struggle the most with in BFBM and sometimes substitute them with star jumps or other cardio moves on my less motivated days Blush.

mildlyacquiescent · 12/05/2015 22:05

That is such a kind offer, Errol: I can't PM you from this phone so will pass on the offer in case blodynmawr would like to take advantage of it (I would probably be out of the country by the time it arrived, anyway- I work overseas).

Hard Body is dreadful, isn't it? I kept banging into things as it requires so much more space than her usual workouts. I was watching it with my fitness fanatic friend and she turned purple at the 'speed squats'at the start because of the crap form i. e. non-squats of 3/4 of the models.

Today did NMTZ, two cardio circuits from Cardio 2 Body Rev and 25 mins HIIT on the exercycle. Enjoying the bike. Don't have one in my flat but thinking of investing in one now.

Feeling a bit discombobulated. DH has got a medical investigation going on - almost certainly not exactly serious but needs sorting out - which means we probably can't get medical insurance for holiday to Turkey. Bit of a downer as was really looking forward to it after DDs GCSEs, and one of my motivations for exercising is the watersports. We will be doing stuff at the local club when the exams are over, and maybe can find things to do eg in the Lakes but not quite the same as capsizing sailing in the sunshine without needing to be encased in neoprene! I nearly felt like not bothering to do anything this morning but gave myself a bit of a mental shake and did some sets of tabatas. Plan to do weights tomorrow - DD will be at home revising.

Oh dear Errol. FWIW, we have got medical insurance for various trips despite many investigations/issues. Could you ring around? A broker can usually sort you out with this sort of thing if you are "fit to fly".

ErrolTheDragon · 12/05/2015 23:13

Problem is finding a policy which does the medical and the sports cover. And not sure DH will really be feeling up to it anyway, the idea of travelling is causing stress which isn't really the point of a holiday.

Body Rev phase 2 week 7 cardio done. I'm quite impressed with myself for having done it at all having been out late last night at a work do. I may have been a bit hung over. I did phone in the last set of burpees but I think even Jillian would have struggled to do them with a cat trying to occupy the same floor space.

Sorry to hear about your DH's investigations, Errol. That's rotten luck. I hope it's resolved quickly. Could you go abroad and get some sun without doing the sports, or would that still be stressful for him and / or too frustrating for you?
