Hi everyone, new thread started! Grin

OP posts:
AggressiveBunting · 28/04/2015 03:23

Hate to be the bringer of bad news, but there's a major addition error in the last thread (like, 1000 miles major Grin). Total should be 1,379.08 plus 4 from me = 1383.08

Well done to Action and Runtothehills. Sounds like you both battled major adversity! Well done to SPM for first 5k race too.

actiongirl1978 · 28/04/2015 06:41

Darn it aggressive and we were doing so well tooGrin

runtothehills I think if I had to put wet trainers on, I wouldn't just cry! I'd refuse to go any further and go home!

OP posts:
emummy · 28/04/2015 06:58

runtothehills congratulations, what a great result. I thought of you on Sunday when I was looking out at the snow falling and thinking that at least I only had a hailstorm to cope with! Well done to you and your partner, are you thinking about the next race now?!

stilllearnin · 28/04/2015 07:24

Well then, to save anyone else going back to see if it was their Maths - I will tell you know it was me!!! Blush I had a feeling it was too- v sorry and will do extra intervals today in pennance!

I don't know what happens to my Maths on this thread (do I admit I have a masters in a Maths related subject?!)

stilllearnin · 28/04/2015 07:25

And I cannot write either ^^ back to school for me!

Neeko · 28/04/2015 07:44

1383.08 + 3.1 is 1386.18

Thanks Still for trying to keep us all motivated Grin

Some amazing runs from some of you on here recently. It's very motivating.

Action. No idea how you managed to carry on. Please make sure you rest the knee now.

Runtothehills. simply amazing! Well done.

holmessweetholmes · 28/04/2015 09:54

Wow runtothehills! Inspiring! Familygermsareok - yes there is a full marathon at Coniston too. I'm definitely not up for that though. I think a HM is my absolute limit! Mind you, I thought 5k was my limit when I started running 6 years ago...

AggressiveBunting · 28/04/2015 10:13

still No worries- I only twigged it as I remembered the last total I calculated and figured that even if everyone on the thread ran a marathon last weekend the new total couldn't be right. Ah well, we can dream.

In other news, I have the dentist tomorrow- last went before DS was born. He's 5. Shit. Gonna get a lecture aren't I?

holmessweetholmes · 28/04/2015 11:54

6.2 from me this morning - makes 1392.38

A breezy but mostly sunny 10k through a deer park, woods and with amazing views of the snowy Lake District fells across the estuary. Still felt like a slog though and was pretty bloody slow!

alleypalley · 28/04/2015 12:03

Wow runtothehills, that's amazing. Well done. And you too Actiongirl, that's great determination.

I went down and watched the marathon on Sunday. It was brilliant, saw Paula, and Jenson Button (love Jenson). It was so cold though, I felt sorry for the slower runners and walkers at the back, they must have been freezing.

3 miles for me yesterday, and 4 today.

1399.38

actiongirl1978 · 28/04/2015 12:33

Ooo aggressive I don't envy you the dentist visit. Hope you've got great teeth, my dh has never been as an adult and doesn't have a filling, I go every six months and always need treatment Hmm

holmes that sounds like a wonderful run, slow or not! I bet you are glad you did it!

OP posts:
stilllearnin · 28/04/2015 12:51

holmes it gets easier quite quickly once you are back into it I reckon. I am so jealous of your route though. I have just done intervals at the bottom of my road. I shuffled up the big hill but kept going.

aggressive i love going to the dentist - I am currently having lots rebuilt (£££) and I am obsessed with looking after my new additions.

OK all eyes on me and my maths. 2.7 from me makes...

1402.08

used calculator in fear

Runrunrun1 · 28/04/2015 13:08

Grin at stillearnin - I have checked mine with a calculator a few times!!!

holmessweetholmes · 28/04/2015 13:59

Shock at loving going to the dentist's Still ! Yes I should apologise for going on about my local running routes Blush. We moved here 6 months ago and I haven't quite got over the excitement yet Grin. My FB friends must be very bored with my endless photos of views!

actiongirl1978 · 28/04/2015 14:18

holmes we used to live in what I think was the prettiest part of Ireland, I was always posting photos of sunrises and sunsets and mountains, I don't care if my friends were bored!

OP posts:
holmessweetholmes · 28/04/2015 14:24

Grin Actiongirl - glad to know I'm not the only one! But I have posted a truly embarrassing number of sunsets from my bedroom window out over the bay!

Dottymum2 · 28/04/2015 14:52

3.5 today and 6 yesterday from me so 1411.58 (I think)

You are all so inspiring, love reading about your runs!!! Well done all. Smile

Dottymum2 · 28/04/2015 14:53

Anyone running Birmingham 10k sunday?

LastGleaming · 28/04/2015 15:39

Amazing runtohills. I am in awe, very well done!

5.6 to add 1417.18. Horrible, very hard work run into a strong headwind most of the way but suppose that could count as some form of resistance training Grin. Still it's done and all good now I've a cup of tea down my neck.

actiongirl1978 · 28/04/2015 16:40

holmes I lived on the edge of Dublin Bay - literally. There was us, a road, another house, then the sea. I was OBSESSED with the sunrise in the summer. It helped that I could sit up in bed and see it over the Irish sea, and watch the ferries coming in and out. Oh happy days....

OP posts:
actiongirl1978 · 28/04/2015 16:41

lastgleaming it absolutely counts as resistance training. When I lived in Ireland (see above ^^) it was always windy and I was definitely fitter!!

OP posts:
holmessweetholmes · 28/04/2015 16:58

It's windy here too! Windy up on the fells and really windy down on the estuary (we are right on the estuary of the River Kent at the top of Morecambe Bay). Hills and wind are a bit of a challenge for me on my runs! When we were moving here, I blithely though 'Ooh I could take up fell running! ' Then I looked at a video of people doing it. Ummm... nope. Definitely not. They must be crazy!

LastGleaming · 28/04/2015 18:13

Grin I live in Ireland actiongirl. My main mistake today was heading down to the shore to run.

runtothehills · 28/04/2015 18:56

holmes give it a wee try, fell/hill running not as crazy as you think, we walk up most of the hills, and you get even nicer sunrises/sets Grin

Thank you for all the lovely messages, feeling a bit more normal today and managed a slow 5 mile recovery run with a friend followed by large amounts of coffee and cake

emummy next race is 9 weeks away, but taking a wee training break for the next week. How long till your HM?

1422.18

cinnamongreyhound · 28/04/2015 19:51

Don't know how I missed your post runtothehills, fantastic well done!!!!!!
