Karatekimmi can give you some buggy running tips I'm sure! She has a parkrun buggy Pb a d non-buggy pb Grin

My pain is much better today, more like a bruise. Dh gave it a good run last night and I've been stretching, he says its periformis, most likely from the dog jolting me Sunday and it just niggled on Tuesday night. I did cockle over, as my nan used to say while running so that could have been it too. Had to move my Thursday run to tomorrow as I started work at 6.50 today and my friend didn't want to be back that early as it would have meant too early a start!

5madthings · 19/03/2015 07:58

aggressive I did a standing r2d2 cake a few years ago for madthing2. It was fairly simple actually. You need a hemisphere cake tin. I also made light sabers out of foam pipe insulation and coloured tape. Tbh I am a sucker for the kids bday in that I enjoy them just as much as the kids. The lovely ohone helped me the other year source a specific captain America outfit for madthing4's bday as it was all he wanted. She brought it over from the us for him!

Not sure if I will run today as been up in night with crampy tummy and feeling clammy and Pukey. Hoping some rest will help.

Glad you are feeling better cinnamon not long to go now!

Deliaskis · 19/03/2015 08:56

Another 2 x 3.1 for me, so 1024.89 now.

Dx

Deliaskis · 19/03/2015 08:57

Sorry 1024.90

Deliaskis · 19/03/2015 08:57

Argh! 1024.09

emummy · 19/03/2015 11:02

A very stiff and achy 4.4 from me, did boot camp and yoga yesterday, not sure which one to blame for the soreness! First one on new shoes, was lovely.

Kikibee · 19/03/2015 16:16

Thanks Anglaise, a friend of mine has run it, she has been most helpful and sadly no we won't be hanging around, work beckons on Monday morning so it will be a lightning visit. Don't have much idea about tapering, I have done three extra long runs so am now down to below 15 miles....

I did a very sedate 7.5 this morning, takes the total up to 1035.99 I'm hoping my GCSE maths hasn't failed me!

Anglaise1 · 19/03/2015 16:58

6 miles from me, last run before the marathon on Sunday. I've lost weight this week, I hope it isn't muscle!

twobambinos · 19/03/2015 17:07

5mad that cake looks amazing no wonder he was delighted id be delighted with that myself .

Goodluck for your marathon anglaise and congrats on the weight loss. I'm sure its not muscle. Don't they say muscles hold water and when you rest the water goes so maybe its water weight. I may be talking rubbish tho.

No running miles to log today but I did get out for a long walk with dd2 in the buggy and made the most of the sunshine. Long may it last

Anglaise1 · 19/03/2015 17:25

Thanks twobambinos. Jeans are definitely looser and at 58kgs I'm at the weight I wanted to be for the marathon - as long as the muscle is still there!
Forgot to put running total, must be excitement/nerves/panic about going to Rome tomorrow
1041.99

runtothehills · 19/03/2015 18:01

No run today as at work and have Metafit later. Just wanted to say a quick good luck to Anglaise for the marathon this weekend. Also welcome MrsW, running wasn't anywhere near my radar when my DDs were that young so hats off to you. Pace will improve before you know it Smile

actiongirl1978 · 19/03/2015 18:10

Good luck in Rome Anglaise! I am sure the muscle will still be there, I think it only degrades after two weeks

5Mad that cake is awesome! My children won't let me make them a cake, each year it gets outsourced. I am truly rubbish at it.

twobambinos jealous of your sunshine, it was grimy in Hampshire!

I have 5.5 miles to add, done despite utter exhaustion. I actually fell asleep when I got back from the school run Shock I kept telling myself I would run for one more song, then it was too late to turn back so I had to do the full loop!

I am not sure if it was a useful run, it was neither fast or slow, long or intervals, but I got some fresh air and raised my heart rate so thats better than nothing I guess.

1047.4 (I think)

Suzannewithaplan · 19/03/2015 20:27

I cant see that you'd have lost muscle while tapering in preparation for the marathon Anglaise.
Afaik if you wanted to lose muscle as quickly as possible you would need to hardly move at all and eat very little, I think the lack of movement is the factor with most weight
(eg what happens when I person has a limb in plaster)
I think zero gravity would also do it, obviously none of those will apply to you!

Best of luck with it I hope your batteries are on full charge by sunday :)

I'm hoping to be out running during the eclipse tomorrow, fingers crossed it wont be cloudy so I can get the full effect of the weird light :o

EdithDickie · 19/03/2015 20:45

8.76 today. 3 at lunchtime and the rest after work. Lovely sunny spring day Smile

Good luck Anglaise!

Star!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/03/2015 21:01

Good luck Anglaise and kiki with your marathons.

Very impressed with your multiple running Edith

Enjoy the eclipse Suzanne

The important thing is that you got out action, and the good thing is that you inspired me to go out this evening Smile

Hope you are feeling less stiff soon emummy

Well done Delia

cockle over made me smile cinnamon it's the kind of thing my Dad would say. Hope you are feeling better and enjoy your run tomorrow.

How I miss those pedis Bunting - I have lived in Asia and the US and was far better groomed than I am now.

I'd forgotten about the Captain America suit 5mad - so it's almost exactly 2 years since I left the US. How time has flown!

I took running gear to work today, but my buddy had to drop out and I was feeling really tired (up at cinnamon o'clock for an early shift). But by the time I had caught up on the thread on my way home and cycled back to my house I felt a bit more lively so did a quick two miles while my dinner was cooking Smile

Deliaskis · 19/03/2015 21:26

And another 2.1 today so 1060.26

Light nights mean I'm getting out more, even if only for short bursts! Smile

5madthings · 19/03/2015 22:54

ohone he bloody loves that captain America suit and we actually manged to get him the special shield that goes with it this Xmas, he was chuffed to bits! He still talks about the 'lady who got it from captain America in America!'

Good luck anglaise

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/03/2015 23:01

Oh too cute 5mad Smile Grin Smile

5madthings · 19/03/2015 23:17

I think he still has the note you sent with it in his treasure box :)

AggressiveBunting · 20/03/2015 01:50

No running from me today- went to Crossfit but had to do the 5.15am class and bribed myself to do it by letting myself drive rather than run there. Running at 4.45am just feels wrong.

So, just popping on the thread to say good luck to Anglaise for her marathon. I'm sure you do great.

Neeko · 20/03/2015 07:18

3.2 here this morning.

MrsW- sorry, but yes you did miss out on the concert. Grin You can't beat s bit of reliving your youth!

Good luck to the marathoners. I am in awe. Smile

karatekimmi · 20/03/2015 07:19

Good luck anglaise you'll have to let me know how you get on, it's on my to do list for next year!!

The cake is impressive 5madthings I have the dilemma of making minikimmi's birthday cake which I really want to do, but he wants a Thomas cake and it'll just end upmlooking like a train crashGrin

Well a second 5k from me this week, and a run planned on Sunday with my DSis so I'm on track for my 3 runs a week!!
