Neeko · 18/03/2015 11:58

MrsWahlberg (Donny or Mark btw? Smile) An 11 minute mile is about my average, it sounds like good going to me! Grin

Twobambinos. Cutting out sugar is terrible. I have had one ferrero rocher on Monday and Tuesday and that is all. So pleased with myself and amazed at how slowly I ate it I'm sure if I can see the scales drop by next week it will keep me motivated. That and the dress I want to wear for a big night out in 4.5 weeks.

Does anyone have any good exercises for getting rid of the dreadful bingo wings? I'm doing Davina's tone and sculpt but may need to be a little more hardcore.

Neeko · 18/03/2015 11:59

Oh and 5madthings, I'm sure the cake was fab. I have to make a rapunzel cake for the weekend after next. Gulp.

cinnamongreyhound · 18/03/2015 12:05

The cake is awesome 5madthings!!

MrsWahlberg · 18/03/2015 12:10

Neeko - Mark!! Although we love blue bloods in this house and Donnie is growing on me!!! (Wouldn't be the first time I've fancied brothers Wink )!

IrianofWay · 18/03/2015 12:12

3.1 again last night. 969.92

I know that more than a glass has an impact on me if I go running early the next day but not if it's late afternoon or evening. However I did give up entirely for 2 weeks before my last race - will have to do that again this time.

IrianofWay · 18/03/2015 12:13

Oops - missed the last pages - 1008.2

Suzannewithaplan · 18/03/2015 13:15

9.69 from me
1017.89

pain in the bum is much reduced, although I'll still keep my physio to see what the underlying problem is

Suzannewithaplan · 18/03/2015 14:04

Neeko, for triceps, not sure what you're doing atm but here's a couple of suggestions:

actiongirl1978 · 18/03/2015 15:45

Neeko I can't link at the moment, but try you tubing or googling pilates bands arm exercises. They are really hard, but can be done in the bedroom or wherever and are ace for bingo wings

ThursdayLast · 18/03/2015 15:50

Ooh yes -resistance band is a good portable affordable alternative to dumbbells and the like.

Good for stretching too

Kikibee · 18/03/2015 17:12

Hello, I am a longtime lurker who has decided to dip my little toe into posting on here. I am training for a marathon and am now tapering, so probably should have started posting earlier, sorry Smile. Here's hoping I stay injury free......

Anglaise1 · 18/03/2015 17:18

Welcome Kikibee! It's good to see another marathonian on here. When and where is yours? Have you done one before? I'm tapering this week, last run tomorrow, marathon on Sunday in Rome.

Neeko · 18/03/2015 17:53

MrsWahlberg. I was am a massive Nkotb fan in my youth. no, I didn't go to see them last June, not me BlushGrin but it's Joey all the way here. Those eyes and that smile...

Thanks for the arm tips. I'll check them out and will do some shopping for a band thingy to add to my ever-growing stock of exercising accessories!

Kikibee · 18/03/2015 18:25

Hi Anglaise, I'm off to your part of the world, your capital city, never run one before, first time for everything, just wanting to get round!

EdithDickie · 18/03/2015 18:56

Mrs Wahlberg that's my average pace when not laden with baby and buggy!

Glad your bum feeling better Suzanne.

stilllearnin · 18/03/2015 19:24

Neeko the kit is half the fun. I picked up and put some bands down in primark today. I'm coming to the same conclusion on Davina- don't want to rely on it for all my toning

MrsWahlberg · 18/03/2015 19:59

Neeko I was asked to go along to see NKOTB but was heavily pregnant in June and just couldn't do it! I missed out didn't i?!?

Edithdickie - it's not the pace that I mind so much but more the fact I can only do 2-3 miles (with a few walking steps in between I've got to admit) when I can usually go for 4 to 5 miles before I start flagging!
But I suppose it's like anything your not used too! Hard at first but perserveer and it gets easier!
Just think how easy it should be for my next run without it! Grin

EdithDickie · 18/03/2015 20:00

Definitely! You'll feel like you're flying!

Sazorchard31 · 18/03/2015 20:05

Just marking my place, had planned a run tonight but have work to do...should get on with it!!

Suzannewithaplan · 18/03/2015 20:05

MrsW afaik the opposing movements of the arms are pretty significant contributors to running economy so no wonder it feels much harder when you are running with a buggy.

I suppose it would (in theory) be possible to rig up a harness so that you could run whilst pulling some sort of baby carriage?

Anglaise1 · 18/03/2015 20:51

Kikibee the Paris marathon, excellent, are you staying a few days afer to visit the city? If you want any tips a lot of my friends in the club have done it. I'm sure you will love it.
I only started tapering last week, I hope it was early enough. Last run tomorrow then nothing until Sunday which will be strange. At least in Italy there is no shortage or pasta to eat on the day before the raceWink

ThursdayLast · 18/03/2015 21:35

MrsW don't be too hard on yourself. Your baby is still only weeks old, you've got all the time in the world to build back up slowly. It's not like you simply didn't run for a while - your body has undergone quite a stressful physical experience!

^^this is pretty much what I had in mind :o

AggressiveBunting · 19/03/2015 01:28

5mad That cake is brilliant- no wonder your son loved it. Ashamed to say I've never made either of my DC a b'day cake - either get one made or do a joint party whereby the division of labour is 'other mum': cake, me: everything else. DS wants a "standing up R2D2 cake" for his 5th- think I might have to commission that or it'll look like a meltdown in a nuclear reactor.

Anglaise Usually my feet aren't too bad - shanghai pedicures (with the blade) are cheap in Asia and I find that eliminating hard skin every fortnight or so helps a lot. The nail feels a little more "attached" today so I'm hopeful. It would be bad to superglue it back on if it falls off, wouldnt it?

MrsW You are doing amazingly. When DD was 6 wks old, I couldnt walk to the shop. Roll on till she was 1, and I still had barely put my trainers on. She's now 2.5 and I'm doing 50k races, so it'll come back and you're way further down the curve than I was - from your pre-baby times it sounds like you're a bit of a racing snake anyway Grin.

No run from me today- have visitors staying and trying to fit work in around day trips and nights out and all the kids' stuff. Scheduled a long run with a friend for Saturday am.
