Well done phlebas that's great. Hope you enjoyed the well deserved bath and wine!

SummerHouse · 22/03/2015 07:23

Hi. I found this thread just under two weeks ago panicking about the Lincoln 10k today. I just wanted to say thank you again. Such brilliant and practical support. I am ready and I am excited. Hardly slept! What's more I want to keep up the running now which I thought would fall by the wayside after today. I actually think I am starting to love it. Thank you again for the support. Flowers

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 22/03/2015 07:27

Good luck SummerHouse

Will catch up with the rest of the thread later Smile

Go for it, Summerhouse!

Well done Pfleb.

I have stupidly given myself a big blister by walking home from the train in a pair of heels. Think I may need to skip a run today. Hmm

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 22/03/2015 08:34

Have fun Summer house! The 10k doesn't involve Steep Hill does it?!

Can't see the total on this page, but need to add 12 from me - 3 on Thursday and 9 yesterday. I've got my mojo back after a craps couple of weeks. 4 weeks till half marathon!

familygermsareok · 22/03/2015 08:38

Well done phlebas and good luck Summerhouse. Great you are loving the running Smile

5m of early intervals from me today. Legs stiff and achy now, I am becoming good friends with my new foam roller Wink

Don't think phlebas added their miles so
1151.25 + 18 from phlebas + 5 from me = 1174.25

familygermsareok · 22/03/2015 08:43

1186.25 with hoppy's 12

Great you have mojo back in plenty time for hm Smile

emummy · 22/03/2015 09:31

Nice easy 5.8 miles in the rain, week 3 hm training complete!

1192.1

cinnamongreyhound · 22/03/2015 11:18

Good luck SummerHouse, enjoy!

Much nicer running conditions today, although the sun is gone now! Ran with my canicross club, think it will be my last with them as I'm slower than almost all of them now and I don't want them waiting up for me! 4.25 miles in 45 mins, pretty good for me at the moment.

1196.35

Suzannewithaplan · 22/03/2015 14:47

pretty good indeed Cinnamon :o

10.59 from me
1206.94
I had to run a bit carefully because of glute pain and it is rather hurting now when sitting, although it's ok if I sit cross legged in the yoga easy pose
(I try to do that most of the time anyway to help with hip flexibility)

Not sure if I'm being realistic in hoping the physio will be able to help, there's nothing really 'wrong' with me, and I suppose the rational response would be 'if running hurts then just dont run so much' :(

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 22/03/2015 14:49

I have 13.1 to add from this morning's Reading half marathon. The weather was absolutely glorious. Sunny with a nice breeze so I didn't get too hot.
I did it in 2:06:31 which was nearly 10 mins faster than my target time!! The adrenalin must have been really pumping!
I think I'm going to have to enter some smaller races though. All the standing around waiting at the start for massive events like this one drives me mad.

New total is 1209.45

Suzannewithaplan · 22/03/2015 15:49

well done Cardiff!!Star
:o

Anglaise1 · 22/03/2015 16:50

Ciao everyone! Congratulations on your HM Cardiff 1and your 10k Phlebas. Marathon finished, it rained all the race until the last 3km but it was a fabulous event to do and the organisation excellent. I did a time of 3h41m which i'm really happy with as it was my first marathon and not one to do a great time. I would have been 3 mins faster but I had a Paula Radcliffe pitstop due to my gastric problems. Going out to eat pasta/pizza or something more refined to recuperate with the other guys from the club.
1252

Suzannewithaplan · 22/03/2015 17:00

sounds like an absolutely brilliant time to me Anglaise:o congratulations!!

Neeko · 22/03/2015 17:23

Well done to both Anglaise and Cardiff Smile

twobambinos · 22/03/2015 17:24

well done anglaise cardiff and phlebas. and really great times by everyone well done.

bit late to say good luck summerhouse hope you update us soon.

1252 plus 9.3 from me a 10km yesterday and a hungover 5km today 1261.3

cinnamon wow almighty. you are still going strong arent you well done.

EdithDickie · 22/03/2015 17:29

Wow well done Anglaise, fantastic time! And Cardiff too!

I did Exeter 10k today so have 6.2 to add, PB for me, 1:02:53 Grin

EdithDickie · 22/03/2015 17:31

Oh Suzanne I hope the physio does help. Sad

Also still getting glute pain but it does seem much better when I am diligent with stretching etc so hopefully some decent physio exercises will see you right.

karatekimmi · 22/03/2015 18:13

Wow some excellent running this weekend.

Well done on PB Edith - was yours a PB Cardiff or just a lot faster than you hoped?

Good running anglaise and an impressive time too. I hope you've dried out!!

impressive running by everyone else too!!

I've just come back from "group 4" which is club code for the pub, where a lot of people did 20 milers yesterday or today, and a Stafford half marathon, so I felt a but left out with my measly 3.1 miles this morning!! but as it was with a pushchair and with a bump, I think I should triple my distance!!! it should definitely count as 9.3 miles!!!

1270.6 ( 6.2 from Edith)

Suzannewithaplan · 22/03/2015 18:26

Great stuff on the PB EdithStar
I already to a ton of stretching, I can do the splits, get my leg behind my head etc etc, surely it cant be lack of stretching...maybe too much of itConfused

It's frustrating because I feel I have a big enough engine to run a bit faster but my chassis just cant take it right nowBlush

emummy · 22/03/2015 19:00

Fantastic running Edith,Cardiff & Anglaise! A very successful day all round!

EdithDickie · 22/03/2015 19:02

Thanks for the adding up karatekimmi

Suzanne that's a total drag Sad

Very impressed you can do the splits though!

Maybe more muscle is the key??

cinnamongreyhound · 22/03/2015 19:05

Some fantastic racing today, well done to you all!!

HalleLouja · 22/03/2015 19:48

13.1 miles to add. 1283.7.

That was tough. A much easier course than my first HM but well and truely hit the wall. Was seen by a first aider but am fine now. I did make it to the end but wasn't sure I was going to at one point.

Those who use gels how many do you use in a half. I think I need to start using them. But keeping my distances shorter until September when I will consider training for St Neots.

Well done everyone racing today.

Tiredemma · 22/03/2015 19:48
