cinnamon we chose this year's campsite based on its proximity to a parkrun - Keswick in Cumbria. I'm hoping it's not overly hilly!

cinnamongreyhound · 31/07/2015 17:44

Home running for me tomorrow and a spot of rd training for a newbie who wants to become an rd, hope we don't put him off!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 31/07/2015 18:37

DS1 and I are trying Sheringham again tomorrowSmile weather today had been dry and fine so fingers crossed we won't get cancelled two weeks in a rowSmile

No parkrun for us tomorrow as we are cancelled due to the Mela
We will be doing RideLondon instead so the usual early morning start to Saturday will still be in place.
I think there may be a few more around at SA Halle as some of ours are planning a trip. Possibly break the 400 Shock

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 01/08/2015 09:55

Gah foiled again! Grin DS1 and I got up, had breakfast and got into the car, only to find that we couldn't get across the hard standing between our holiday cottage and the road because of an extra high tide which had flooded the hard. It wasn't super-deep but was a long way across. I took advice from some friendly locals who said it wasn't a good idea to try to take a regular car across. A friend of mine almost lost her car one year when she parked it on the hard, went off for the day and came back to find it under water Shock so I thought it best not to tryGrin Went for a consolation run along the beach insteadSmile At least we triedSmile
Hope ride London was good feet, and that the reat of you had good runs Grin

Hi all, very excited because I think I did a PB this morning!

and I BROKE THE 40 MIN BARRIER!!!

I know, a way to go to catch most of you.

tourists for the first time next week at Penrose cornwall. Not brave enough to try Thursdays Grin

so if anyone else is there, I will be the large lady at the back in black shorts, clutching a phone in a pink case, trying to beat the 40 minute marker. Come and say hello!

OhoneOhtwo, your cottage sounds awesome despite the water!

HalleLouja · 01/08/2015 11:56

Oh no OH!

Feet I did wonder why the Stopsley Strider was there. It was busy today and my time was about the same as last week. Give or take two seconds. Have fun riding round London Town.

Well done Steppe!!!!! Grin

MelanieCheeks · 01/08/2015 18:33

Yay, Steppe!

I continued my round up of the NI parkuns, with its original one at Waterworks.

A lovely course, great crowd, most enjoyable.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/08/2015 11:53

Oh no OhOneOhTwoOhThree!!

Well done steppemum!!!

I ran at home, first lap with friend and second lap on my own as she slowed with her ds. Second lap was 9 min miling so first must have been slow as I only just dipped under 30mins!

I'm rd next week then hoping to go to sheringham myself.

ThursdayLast · 02/08/2015 18:36

Hello everyone!
I forgot to,post yesterday because I was too lazy to parkrun. I just took the dog for a spin around the woods to make up for it.

Penrose isn't without hills steppe and make sure you leave plenty of time to get to it if you're driving - the NT car park is v small, so they encourage parking in Helston, which is then about 2.5k away from the start!

Anyways, I'll read back and catch up.
Still feeling mostly sicky, mostly all day, and am down to two runs a week. Trying not to beat myself up about it.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/08/2015 19:35

I was the same ThursdayLast but once I got to 15 weeks I felt much better and got back to running a bit more. I did a 10k at 21 weeks in 1:01 so there's hope for your race. Other than sickness, everything ok?

ThursdayLast · 02/08/2015 22:03

Nauseous, tired and bloated but otherwise well I think Cinnamon thanks!

OhOne you make missing parkrun sounds like a fun adventure!

chutneypig · 03/08/2015 06:48

That's a dramatic reason not to get to parkrun ohone! Will you get another shot?

Brilliant steppe. Enjoy Cornwall, although that sounds quite a warm up from Helston!

Hopefully it'll pass soon thursday but it does feel like forever when your in it.

How often do you end up RDing cinnamon? Were the numbers back up this week?

That looks an interesting course Melanie. Must be fun geting round to compare them.

Have you got a new PB target in mind Halle?

We really enjoyed Poole Park. DS was a bit wide eyed at the number of people - 675. I was so impressed with the organisation, it didn't take us much longer to get through and scanned than it did at ours, which is a third the size. Loved the course too and was in sight of my PB which hasn't happened for a while. DS is a good pacer!

cinnamongreyhound · 03/08/2015 07:55

We have 6 RDs chutneypig so usually every 6 weeks but I'm event director too so if there's an empty weekend I tend to take it. We are losing one soon as she's going to live abroad and I'm training a new one so will do a bit more frequently until he's confident. We are in the 60s which is what I expect for holiday time. I haven't ever been to one over 200 but would love to.

MelanieCheeks · 03/08/2015 16:18

I'm north of the border this week if anyone fancies joking me at St. Andrews?

feetheart · 03/08/2015 16:53

Sorry Melanie - it's a bit of a hike from here and I am 'supporting' DS (9) and his little mate (8) who have asked if they can be RDs on Saturday Shock. They asked a while ago and have over 50 parkruns between them so I said that as long as they had done all the volunteer roles, wrote and practiced the run briefing and did the run report afterwards then they could do it! They agreed - just hoping Saturday isn't the day we go over 200 for the first time!!
We will be at Portrush on 22nd August which is a bit closer :)

HalleLouja · 03/08/2015 18:10

Chutney my pb is 26.07. I just want 8 seconds faster. I am mainly running 26.30 ish at the moment so not a million miles away.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/08/2015 20:52

Looking at my nearest pr while on holiday and it's a no dog one Sad but two others aren't too far and do allow dogs Grin

ThursdayLast · 03/08/2015 21:27

Hmm Melanie if I leave now I might get there for Saturday Smile

feetheart · 06/08/2015 07:46

Writing the run briefing - they are taking this seriously :o

feet DS1 and I will try to come pn SaturdaySmile DS1 offered to be your DS' s bodyguard during the briefing but I reminded him that he didn't exactly carry out his duties with distinction last time we came. The only thing that might stop us is that Bedford have put out a call for volunteers and they sound quite short.
Enjoy St Andrews melanie, looking forward to the blog already!

feet that's VERY cute!

HalleLouja · 06/08/2015 14:42

Feet too cute for words. I read your run report. I smiled about the bit regarding your online forum. Also W being away made me laugh as you filled the space with more photos of him. Grin
