We are a long-running thread, but very friendly - please come and say hello, and chat about PBs, tourism, progress towards tee-shirts and anyything else about parkrun Smile

I've done 14. I think I have done all the parkruns within striking distance of my home - Bedford, MK, Northampton, Huntingdon, SA, Peterborough, Panshanger and Wimpole. The rest have been when we have been on holiday.

Just noticed that there is a new one about to start very close to my parents, so will add that to my to-do list Smile

I have only done 2 coursesSad. My local one is only 8 mins drive away so very handy. Would be about 6 miles to run there and I have considered running there and back but 15 miles is about the limit I have ever run and it would be a very slow parkrun for me. Maybe one day.....
Next closest two are 30 and 45 mins drive away then over an hour for others. Once DC older may try a bit of tourism. Love the Cowell club, hadn't heard of that before.

standingonlego · 01/03/2015 21:18

I have only done 3, looking to explore more in 2015 :)

ThursdayLast · 01/03/2015 22:25

I've only done 2 Sad
It'll be 3 by the end of this month wahoo!

MelanieCheeks · 02/03/2015 13:10

Haven't done Gunnersby, no, but am aiming to do Crystal Palace at the end of the month.

I'm on 15 events at the minute, so I'm hoping to hit the 20 mark in May.

Hello all the new parkrunners, you'll soon wonder what you used to do on a Saturday morning!

karatekimmi · 03/03/2015 20:01

I've done 12, which is more than most of my running club, but seems small compared to some!! There are a couplestill easily available to me, but then it will take more ingenuity to get!! DH is doing the liverpool half marathon in June so I've persuaded him to leave early on Saturday and do Stoke on the way up!!

As if I'm going to let a hangover stand between me and that magic 50 Wine

cinnamongreyhound · 04/03/2015 12:54

Good on you ThursdayLast!!!!!

karatekimmi · 04/03/2015 22:27

Plus guilt free eating and drinking later!!! We had a groom in a wedding dress doing it last week (made parkrun photo of the week). Are you fancy dressing it?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 04/03/2015 23:29

I saw that karatekimi, fab idea!

HalleLouja · 05/03/2015 08:38

Thursday I like your thinking.

Blatherskite · 05/03/2015 09:28

My brother and I have already worked out the closest parkrun to his wedding venue. It really is ANY excuse for some tourism Grin

ThursdayLast · 06/03/2015 10:14

Im not planning any fancy dress (not a fan) but my Hen-in-Cheif may have other ideas

I really hope not

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 06/03/2015 20:55

I am at home tomorrow for the first time in ages. I am thinking of running there and back as well Shock, as I'm off on a work trip for a week and won't have much chance to run.

HalleLouja · 07/03/2015 10:37

Ohhh hopefully a new PB here. Nice to see you briefly Feet.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/03/2015 11:28

Fabulous Halle Grin

Not a PB, but not only did I get sub-30 for the first time in about a year, I was sub-28:30 Grin Grin Grin

And I ran there Grin and back Grin (latter fuelled by post-parkrun cake and coffee, just to keep the energy levels up) Grin

Sorry for so many Grins, but I am as high as a kite Grin

Am feeling like that today too. My husband keeps going well done but am over the moon.

Obviously Berko HM did the trick plus seeing a couple of friend who are faster than me I wanted to beat Grin.

cinnamongreyhound · 07/03/2015 11:53

Tail runner today so 42:28! Got ticks in every box for our h&s audit yay Grin

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/03/2015 11:57

Excellent cinnamon, must be a relief to get the H&S out of the way Smile

HalleLouja · 07/03/2015 12:04

Well done cinnamon.

Livettupalittle · 07/03/2015 12:37

Did my first parkrun this morning at Gunnersbury. Mostly flat but with a slight incline at the end. Really chuffed to come in at 33:31! Only started running in January, so I think that's pretty good. Thanks for these threads - they are what made me go along.

familygermsareok · 07/03/2015 12:38

Well done Halle and OhOneOhTwo, that's fantastic! Grin

How did you get on with hen run Thursday? Hope you didn't get an unexpected fancy dress!

cinnamon I was running close behind a runner with a big German Shephard type dog today, I have seen her before but she is usually faster than me ( except when her dog stops for a poo!). She was calling out instructions to her dog like 'left', ' on a bit ' etc. I thought of you and the canicross. Do runners train their dogs to follow instructions like this? It was really interesting to see them run as a pair so well together.

My 3rd best time today so I'm feeling pretty good too Smile

familygermsareok · 07/03/2015 12:41

Well done too Livettup, glad you enjoyed it. Parkrun is fab Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 07/03/2015 12:57

Well done liveitupalittle!!!!

Yes familygermsareok, mine only know left, right and Forward but others in my club have taught their dogs more commands. Mine are a greyhound and whippet x so not the brightest dogs in the world Wink. Dh takes the mic but they do respond and reliably too. Well done on your time Smile
