Loving the bump chat on this thread too....really inspiring, has there been a pregnant variant of this girl can yet? If not, you ladies should be it !

WeLoveHaribo · 24/07/2015 22:11

feetheart · 25/07/2015 07:13

LOVE the nails Melanie

WeLoveHaribo - running on my birthday is my favourite bit now as we are usually camping by the sea. This year I will have to wait a few days before I get to run on a beach - Portrush here we come :o

I get to be RD today for only the 3rd time at our 15th event - I did the first two but others have done it since. I may have two shadows in white t-shirts as DS(9) and his 8 yr old mate are the RDing soon :)

Happy running everyone.

HalleLouja · 25/07/2015 07:25

Feet I think the mum of the 8 year old is on my fb group. Are her initials LL? She said she was RD last week.

Happy parkrun day everyone.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/07/2015 07:36

Wild wet and windy here, I have checked the FB page but nothing to say parkrun is cancelled. It is a good 40 min drive, so please keep fingers crossed we don't have a wasted journeySmile

Happy birthday Haribo!

I am park running today Smile

chutneypig · 25/07/2015 07:46

Happy birthday Haribo!

Hope all then runs go ahead, we've not got bad weather here for once. I'm still shaking off a cold so going to go and see how I get on.

Beach runs sound fabulous, off to check that out! Good luck everyone.

MelanieCheeks · 25/07/2015 07:48

Happy Birthday Haribo!

Hope you all get round safely - lovely and sunny here in Norn Irn Smile

Indiedog · 25/07/2015 08:19

Morning parkrunners. Just stumbled across your thread.

I'm in Southampton, started parkrunning in feb 2014.
Currently not running at all due to being pregnant, having had four miscarriages, so medically not a good idea.
But really missing my Saturday morning starts.
I'm not speedy at all, PB was 32.19 I think, but come 2016 when bump hopefully arrives I will be a back runner, huffing and puffing pushing a buggy!

Hope you all have a good one today. I will have to remember you are here.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/07/2015 10:21

Hope you have a smooth rd Feetheart!

Rumour has it sheringham was cancelled OhOneOhTwoOhThree, hope they are wrong!

Enjoy WeLoveHaribo!!!

Welcome Indiedog! Congratulations on your pregnancy, I was lucky to have a fairly straight forward pregnancy so run through it but I don't run with a buggy now, leave ds3 (and 1&2) home with daddy and have a bit of time to myself Grin

Didn't get as wet as expected but we only had 50 runners today Sad

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 25/07/2015 10:40

Yup, got there and the NT had asked parkrun to cancel at 8am as we were on the road. We'll try again next week.

Hope everyone else had good runs!

Hi everyone. I've just done my first ever park run. I'm thrilled. My time was 35.15 and I've never run 5k in less than 39m at home practising! I started running in March for the first time ever at the age of 50, and can see this could become very addictive.

Hope everyone enjoyed their park run this morning.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/07/2015 10:54

You going to sheringham again next week OhOneOhTwoOhThree?

Well done ThroughThickandThin01, and welcome!

Got my time through already!

HalleLouja · 25/07/2015 11:19

Well done ThickandThin.

Welcome to Indie too.

Had quite a good run today and got a few Strava records --that might be as I started too fast and then couldn't keep up. Had a great sprint finish though someone who had already finished walked across the tunnel so had to shout him out the way (nicely...).

chutneypig · 25/07/2015 12:13

What a pain ohone. Fingers crossed for next week.

Hello indiedog. Whereabouts in Southampton is the parkrun? I'm hoping to try Poole next week, first bit of tourism!

How many do you normally get cinnamon? I suppose it's the first big school holiday weekend.

That's greatthickandthin You're right it is addictive.

I only made it round one circuit, and DS had an off week and started crying at 3k, so none of us finished. I had DD with me and she was raring to go, which is typical as normally she isn't. It was a beautiful day here so glad we all went though. Always the juniors tomorrow and Im marshalling so looking forward to that.

Was it a nice supportive parkrun style shout Halle?

How did the nails go down Melanie?

HalleLouja · 25/07/2015 12:17

Chutney I thought I might run into him so can't quite remember what I said but was as polite as possible. Grin.

MyBlackCat · 25/07/2015 14:50

Well done to all park runners. I was back to normal pace today after my speedy run last week. A full 57 secs slower but only 1 sec off my pre last week PB. Grin It's amazing how different you can feel in just a week, felt tired and really sluggish today. No Parkrun next week as working so will hope for a quicker time in a couple of weeks.

Indiedog · 25/07/2015 15:46

Hi chutneypig.

Southampton is held in Southampton Common. It's very popular, normally 5-600 ish people.
Great atmosphere. Lots of people gather at the Hawthorns cafe after for a well deserved bacon roll scrambled egg, or a hot choccy. It's also where they normally sort tokens after.

Can't wait to get back to it, but even just pushing a big shopping trolley today has killed my muscles!

MelanieCheeks · 25/07/2015 20:07

Lovely morning here, special grins from those of us in the new Tshirts, managed a comfortable 26ish, a good minute better than last week, and one of the superfast runners has promised to pace me to a pb on my 100th, scheduled for 10-10.

The nails et al got a special mention on our facebook page

MelanieCheeks · 25/07/2015 21:01

a blog thingy

cinnamongreyhound · 25/07/2015 21:02

Since our 2nd birthday in March we've been around 70-80 with a peak of 99 chutneypig, but yes late July and August are always lower numbers.

Yay for the nails MelanieCheeks!

officelady · 26/07/2015 06:13

Well done everyone on your runs, although it must have been very disappointing to find out yours had been cancelled ohoneohtwoohthree. Loving the nails, melanie - I've stored your idea in the old memory for when it's my turn. It'll be ages yet, I'm only on 20-something and I'm volunteering more nowadays so not racking up the runs.
I finally got to run the new course on week 4 at Lee-On-The-Solent yesterday, I'm so excited to have a parkrun on my doorstep! 273 runners finished, it's proving to be more popular than anyone hoped. And I got a PB of 28:10 which was amazing (and unexpected!), it's definitely a faster course than my old home parkrun (Netley Abbey near Southampton). And I do LOVE running next to the sea so it ticks a lot of boxes for me. Dh did point out that it will be horrendous when it's wet and windy, maybe I'll choose those weeks to go back to Netley and run in the shelter of the woods Wink
I have definitely got my running mojo back, I'm already planning some hill training over the next few weeks to see if I can improve my flat speed a bit more.

cinnamongreyhound · 29/07/2015 06:04

That's lovely officelady, I love the sea too. Almost did gorleston when on holiday 2 years ago but got injured Sad perhaps I'll find one on my holiday this year.
