My favourite spectators are the folk just quietly taking their dogs for a walk at 9am in Saturday.

I can only imagine that they're getting to Lanhydrock in time to have the place to themselves.
Then we all thunder by in varying degrees of hi vis Grin

Thursday, I've looked and it seems Lanhydrock is the only parkrun in these parts. Is this right?

ThursdayLast · 15/01/2015 16:16

There's one near Bude - Kilkhampton I think it is, but that's way too far away for me.

Lanhydrock is as far west as it gets.

Feel free to give me a shout if ever you fancy it - it's the anniversary this week Cake

It's a bit far for me unfortunately. I'm almost as far west as you can get. But if I ever feel like making an event of it I'll message you. When I've got a bit fitter and better.

Have a great anniversary!

Fair enough, I quite often feel it's too far for me when I wake up on a Saturday morning Grin

I can add a whole mile from the hospital gym but not sure what the running total is?

I'm going to work on the key to speed is distance and concrete on 10k and get my time quicker. Not really thought about it before but it does make sense, can only do distance when I slow my pace right down.

Good work going back out Hester, esp in the hail and wind!!

Anglaise1 · 15/01/2015 16:39

13 miles from me this afternoon in 2 hours (it was cold, wet and windy and my running friend had an appointment so we didn't hang about). I could do a marathon quite comfortably at that speed (just over 10kph) as my heart rate and breathing are normal and I'm very comfortable. Problem is I should be running at 12kph for the marathon in March, which isn't the same thing at all, and why the speed work is important - to improve the cardio capacity.

I don't want to go tonight! It's really windy, I'm tired after my day of toing and froing while having my glucose tolerance test at the hospital. But I let me friend down tues so she hasn't been out at all this week. I just want to go to sleep but at least I'll feel better afterwards.

Sirzy · 15/01/2015 17:00

I'm not running tonight. I am being a wimp but not even attempting it in this weather

Sazorchard31 · 15/01/2015 17:29

I'm.with you Sizry! 60mph gusts here but they'll be worse along the coast which I'd have to tackle first!

I run a wet muddy 5 miles this mornings rough the woods. Big big puddles.. Made it out just before the rain started again.

5madthings · 15/01/2015 18:53

3.5 from me, soo. Windy! Makes 1243.6

EdithDickie · 15/01/2015 19:22

There's a parkrun at Kilkhampton??! Smile

HalleLouja · 15/01/2015 20:58

4 miles to add here makes 1247.6. Fred Hughes race on Sunday so no parkrun for me. I think one of the mistakes I made on the last 10 miler I did was to do parkrun the day before. Might go to the gym tomorrow.

holmessweetholmes · 15/01/2015 20:58

You're right, Suzanne! I've just looked at the map and worked out it was about 3.5 miles. So that makes it
1247.1

holmessweetholmes · 15/01/2015 20:59

Cross posted! 1251.1

cinnamongreyhound · 15/01/2015 21:09

4 from me too, very windy but as usual glad I went!!! 1255.1

postmanpatscat · 15/01/2015 21:53

5 miles to add from me. It wasn't windy in the gym!

1260.1

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 15/01/2015 22:02

2.5 for me

1262.6

I tried running on a more empty stomach than usual - had breakfast at 5:30, a cereal bar around 9:00 and a banana around noon. Then ran at 4, and had the soup and roll I had brought with me for lunch. I did feel lighter than usual, but quite headachy afterwards. It was a bit of a brutal day at work though, so it could have been that that gave me the headache though.

Mitchy1nge · 15/01/2015 22:42

did you drink plenty during the day?

clary · 16/01/2015 00:28

A bit of a weedy 2.7m from me tonight taking us to 1265.3. It felt very good and I ran well but cut it shorter as it was late when I went out and I still had a lot of marking to do (done it now tho Grin)

AggressiveBunting · 16/01/2015 00:43

Another 4 from me makes 1269.3. Big one tomorrow. Aiming for a 30k trail run. My one consolation will be that at least I don't have to do the Hong Kong 100 that's also happening tomorrow.

Suzannewithaplan · 16/01/2015 10:23

?Thought this may be of interest to some, from matt Fitzgerald on the subject of gastric distress during running, not sure if it will be readable from the photo though
