Open for any runners, or any runners looking to get their 'mojo' back.

I have a 10k on Sunday which I am feeling less than prepared for, and the stomach bug is just adding to that. I have a feeling I will be the slowest runner!

I'm new! I ran the GNR today. My first half marathon. I ran the whole way and did 2.20 which I'm happy with!

I hurt now!

originalpiratematerial · 07/09/2014 22:08

Hello all, sorry I've been so slack about posting. I've also been quite slack about running but did at least manage a 5k run yesterday although not with any great degree of speed!

originalpiratematerial · 07/09/2014 22:41

Morrigu you have a HM coming up of course - how exciting!

I did a few runs whilst in Donegal, but didn't do nearly as much as I meant to. I thought I liked running in the rain, but there's rain and rain Hmm. Got caught in flash flooding one evening, which was actually quite good fun although I was glad I didn't have to run any further in it!

karatekimmi · 08/09/2014 06:04

Well done runlikeagirl I watched it on the telly!!

I managed my parkrun so 3 to add from me. Tail running so slow but the kids I ran with dropped out after the first lap!! So then I looked like a right slow coach miles behind the previous runner!! I managed to catch up just before the finish line!!

Morrigu · 08/09/2014 09:10

Welcome dinocroc and well done runlikeagirl. I also watched bits of yesterday. I believe it was hard enough going as it was very hot.

Where abouts do you hail from originally feetheart? It's the Belfast one I'm doing this weekend.

That made me laugh originalpirate as ex is from Donegal so I've spent a fair bit of time there. The countryside is beautiful but the rain can be horrendous.

Yes nerves and excitement are starting to kick in a bit showing as frantically checking the weather for the weekend every day and keeping my kids at arm's length as they are both starting to cough Wink Think I'll do 3 miles tomorrow and 2 Wed and leave it from then. Bruised a bone in my foot wearing high heels on Saturday night (stupid, so not used to wearing heels anymore) so I'll be living in trainers for the next few days.

Aww cinnamon you're being too hard on yourself. I would think you'd have a great base fitness too and tbh I'm in awe of the running you are doing when pregnant. It was as much as I could do to scrape myself off the sofa when carrying either of mine.

Right off to supermarket to stock up on pasta (yuck) and bagels and stuff. Bring on the carbs.

feetheart · 08/09/2014 09:53

Morrigu - N Down, the lifeboat town with the long weird name :o
Hmmm, wonder if I can combine Belfast next year with my mum's birthday? Life planned around running? Of course not :)

runlikeagirl - well done on GNR, bet you are still on a high? Welcome to you and dinorock

Am still on a HUGE high from yesterday's WolfRun where 9 MNetters howled our way round 10k of Water, Obstacles, a Lake swim and Fields plus the biggest water-chute ever :o :o BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT :o :o
So with runlikeagirl's GNR, several 5k from people I can't scroll back to and my 6.2 Wolfrun I think the new total is 152.7

EauRouge · 08/09/2014 09:58

Thread 7? I'd barely got used to thread 6! Anyway, I managed 5k yesterday for the first time since April. I walked/ran it in 36.31. Not too shabby! My PB is 27.30 so I've got a ways to go, but I'm pretty pleased anyway.

Are we still doing miles? Make it 155.8 then.

ThursdayLast · 08/09/2014 11:43

Yes morrigu. Any excuse to eat bagels is alright with me Smile

BlueChampagne · 08/09/2014 13:08

I can add 17.6 miles from last week's running efforts, to take us to 173.4. Got some new maps so new routes/additions to routes beckon Smile

ThursdayLast · 08/09/2014 13:13

Ah I didn't realise the WOLF gad checks round already feet sounds like you had fun Grin

ThursdayLast · 08/09/2014 13:14

*had come around
I hate autocorrect

Morrigu · 08/09/2014 14:04

Oh I get ya feetheart and yes I would miss the shore too if I'd lived there and moved away. I'm slightly up the coast, Co Antrim. Course not and I did not look at the Edinburgh hm and consider coinciding it with a visit to see my brother Grin The Wolf run sounds like marvellous fun. Next year I really want to do a OCR.

Well done Eau, how is your leg holding up?

Agreed Thursday. Bagels, cream cheese and bacon, hmmm.

EdithDickie · 08/09/2014 14:57

Stupid question... How do I do bold type?

I did 4 miles today. Walked 100 paces after mile 2 but otherwise I ran it. Really chuffed with myself! Grin 47 minutes 27 seconds.

Hope that everyone is doing okay.

ThursdayLast · 08/09/2014 14:59

Look down Edith there is a list of how to do emphasis under where you type.

ThursdayLast · 08/09/2014 15:00

Unless you're on the app. I don't think I could do it when I used the app

Blatherskite · 08/09/2014 15:01

Instructions are under the message box Edith. Bold is easy, you just stick a * at either side of the word you want to emphasise :)

Blatherskite · 08/09/2014 16:22

13.4 miles from me last week.

Which gets us to 186.8 from the last big total. I don't think Edith added her 4 miles though so I think we're actually at 190.8

Loved the WOLF run yesterday. I really have to do that again one day Grin

EauRouge · 08/09/2014 17:11

Morrigu, legs/glutes/back holding up fine, thanks. Cardiovascular system, not so much Grin

EdithDickie · 08/09/2014 17:36

Yes, am on the app... Let me try.... bold

EdithDickie · 08/09/2014 17:36

Woo hoo!

standingonlego · 08/09/2014 20:27

Another WOLF survivor here - it was fabulous especially being with the pack of lovely folk I only know because we met here. Awesome stuff Grin

An milestone and experience-tastic weekend of running with a 5k from my 50th parkrun and 10k of WOLFness - I make that 9.3 miles so new total 200.1

ThursdayLast · 08/09/2014 20:43

Well done lego that's quite a weekend. You must be buzzing Smile

Blatherskite · 08/09/2014 21:41

4 lovely 9 minute miles tonight. I really, really enjoyed that :)

204.1

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 08/09/2014 21:54

Just over 10k done this morning, bringing us to 210.4.

Had my gait analysis yesterday but they didn't have the shoes I loved in my size, so ordered them from sportsshoes for ££££'s cheaper! Can't wait till they get here Smile.

EauRouge · 09/09/2014 08:23

Another 5k from me, ran the whole thing this time and I'm down to 33.27 Grin So that's 213.5.
