Open for any runners, or any runners looking to get their 'mojo' back.

I have a 10k on Sunday which I am feeling less than prepared for, and the stomach bug is just adding to that. I have a feeling I will be the slowest runner!

Thanks everyone Smile I will keep plugging away to increase my distance. At the moment my longest run is 3.5 miles without stopping so I have a way to go!

Mmmmm enjoy the Indian meal.

standingonlego · 03/09/2014 20:40

3.2 to add taking us to 59.3. Indian sounds lovely, feeling super hungry :)

Morrigu · 03/09/2014 21:00

Thanks everyone. I'm actually getting really excited about it now.

Enjoy your indian cinnamon and hope it sits well for you Grin. Sound yum, I'm starving despite eating my weight in pasta earlier. Not sure I could do the parkrun followed by a run because a) surrounded by others I can't help but start to belt along and much more importantly b) I wouldn't be able to resist my usual pot of tea after!

Thursday it's a nightmare isn't it. I get myself so wound up when I see a blood pressure cuff it's untrue. Haven't been able to sleep properly the last two weeks through worrying too (younger bro is just after a heart op so things like that play on my mind)

Glad you enjoy your runs Cardiff and Thursday. I love that buzz after.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/09/2014 22:01

Home with full tummy :)

cinnamongreyhound · 04/09/2014 21:26

4 miles to add from me 63.3

EdithDickie · 04/09/2014 21:42

Glad you enjoyed the meal cinnamon Smile

3.5 miles for me tonight. Cured the headache from a very stressful day!

HalleLouja · 05/09/2014 07:49

4.5 miles from me. So that is 71.3 miles in total.

A slower club run last night. Probably could have kept going. Thinking of signing up for the 10 miler just after Xmas.

emummy · 05/09/2014 11:24

5.6 miles in the rain, up and down hills, so that makes 76.9. Good pace and really cleared my head of stressful rubbish!

Blatherskite · 05/09/2014 17:40

Marking place on new thread.

Missing tonight's run as I'm still sore from trampolining and too busy to get out. This weekend should make up for it though :)

Need to add on September's miles so far but there aren't many to add so far!

karatekimmi · 05/09/2014 18:29

Marking place and hopping to be back on it tomorrow with my first park run post injury!! I will catch up with all the gossip but have been very mardy about not running so haven't kept up very childish I know

ThursdayLast · 05/09/2014 19:09

This was run cam earlier. Boy oh boy, coast path running is not for the faint hearted (and I had a very heavily beating heart after that section!).

All in, I did 5.5 miles so I make out total 82.4

What a view Thursday and well done, that hill looks a killer. Wouldn't suit me at all with my vertigo and fear of heights.

10 miles to add. Last two were a killer tbh, only thing keeping me going was the thought of a glass of wine with my dinner out tonight and the fact it's my last proper run before the hm next Sunday. Am I right in thinking to keep it to 2 miles now and nothing from about Thursday? Going to have to really consider my diet this week too.

92.4

EdithDickie · 06/09/2014 15:44

Did my first ever park run today so 3.1 miles for me Grin

The coast path... Wow! Hardcore!

Morrigu · 06/09/2014 18:23

Well done Edith and hope you enjoyed parkrun.

95.5

Right that's me off, very early well deserved wine in hand. Will check back next week, in the meantime happy running everyone.

HalleLouja · 06/09/2014 19:01

98.6 including my parkrun. I managed a new PB.

Thursday am very a bit scared of edges so couldn't run on coastal paths. Looks gorgeous though.

EdithDickie · 06/09/2014 20:56

I loved the park run, beautiful location and everyone was so lovely. Congratulations on the pb Halle!

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 06/09/2014 21:43

Ran 5k on Thursday so that's now 101.7. Off to have a gait analysis tomorrow, so hoping for shiny new trainers.

feetheart · 07/09/2014 07:31

Wow, well done everyone, lots of lovely running :)

LOVE the cliff path Thursday. Having grown up by the sea I seem to have ended up as far from it as is possible and I really miss it - wouldn't have had cliffs like that at home though.

Morrigu - well done on getting to 10 miles. Def take it easy this week - gentle 2-3 miles then you should be ready to go for it at the w/e :) Which half are you doing? You probably know the seaside I grew up by :)

SoftKitty - nothing beats nice new trainers, enjoy :)

I can add 3.5 miles from club run on Thursday. First time we have had to run on the streets not over the fields as nights are drawing in :(
Total 105.2

Off to meet fellow Wolefs in a few hours and get very wet and muddy :o

Dinocroc · 07/09/2014 09:06

Hello can I join your thread? Ran a half marathon in Feb at the tiniest sliver under two hours then put my feet up for six months and gained a stone Shock. Am doing the great south run end of Oct (there are still places apparently.....) . Have started watching what I put into my greedy face and a 8 week half marathon training plan so can add two 3 mile runs and an early morning very slow and painful 10k ? 6 miles to your totals.

Coastal path looks nice!

emummy · 07/09/2014 10:02

6.4 nice easy miles from me this morning, so with that and dinocroc's I think that's 123.6 . Feel free to correct me if my arithmetic's wonky! Lucky with the weather for a change - beautiful sunshine when running, now the rain' slashing down. Usually the other way round!

postmanpatscat · 07/09/2014 15:23

Finally got my trainers back on, first time since Monday! 10.5 miles to add from me so 134.1 now. Should be good to go for the half in five weeks. I could have done more today but had run-induced dodgy tum and didn't want to do a Paula Radcliffe.

Welcome edith and well done on your parkrun. Morrigu and kimmi glad to hear you're getting back into it.

And well done Mo on the new PB at the GNR this morning! I didn't see much of it on tv but luckily walked into the living room when he had about 400m to go. I cannot decide whether watching someone do a half marathon in the time it takes me to do a 10k is inspirational or not.

EdithDickie · 07/09/2014 18:15

Massively inspired by the big numbers here! I have been looking at new places to run around here for a bit of a change and have found a reservoir to run around. My plan for tomorrow is to do that. I need to be increasing my miles and aiming to be able to go 4 miles non stop by this time next week. So yeah, please shout at me if I don't! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 07/09/2014 19:17

Welcome Dinocroc!

I've done up to 4 miles in the week running up to a half but see how you feel Morrigu.

I was way to tired to run Friday, RD'd at parkrun Saturday and went to recce my rnr leg but dh wouldn't let me run it as there's no paths and it's a narrow windy road so no miles for me to add. Getting worried I won't manage 9 miles now :( I did 8 3 weeks ago but most I've done since is 5.5 and that's a long way off 9! Will try and fit a 6 in during the week and a 8-9 next Sunday to hopefully boost my confidence. There's a couple of steepish bits but also quite a bit down hill and it's road so hoping I'll be ok Confused

ThursdayLast · 07/09/2014 20:22

Evening all and welcome dino! Well done on your parkrun edith!

That coast path was vair scary in places. V steep, v rocky. I decided to not force it - it's not everyday you get a stretch of Cornish coastline to yourself, so I thought I'd try and enjoy it! Glad you all liked the picture.

I'm sure you'll be fine cinnamon, you've got the base fitness. Perhaps you just have to accept you'll be slower than you thought you might be? Get DH to come with you???

Adding my 5k this evening. Was running with a recovering friend, so we took it easy. Thank god because I ate an enormous roast at lunch, and the heartburn I got whilst running was like being 35 weeks pregnant again!

So the total now is...137.2

ThursdayLast · 07/09/2014 20:22

And hello to everyone

Sorry strictly is distracting me Smile
