Open for any runners, or any runners looking to get their 'mojo' back.

I have a 10k on Sunday which I am feeling less than prepared for, and the stomach bug is just adding to that. I have a feeling I will be the slowest runner!

Well done Thursday

Blatherskite · 05/11/2014 14:25

I've had a busy day. I did an hour of Hot Yoga this morning and then came home for long enough to have a drink and change my top before going out for a 3.5 mile run.

Tomorrow's crazy keep fit experiment is a trampoline keep fit class!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/11/2014 14:41

It wasn't hot, and it was only 20 mins but was my yoga this morning.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/11/2014 14:43

(That's not me, by the way Grin)

HalleLouja · 05/11/2014 15:35

Did about 3 miles. Not my normal course and the Garmin wouldn't get a signal 144.4 miles total. Was quite a nice run though.

Mitchy1nge · 05/11/2014 16:05

no running today but did manage crying in the treatment room at the gym (nothing is even badly wrong, this is a 2 or 3 out of 10 on the pain scale ache in my calf Blush) but feel bit more optimistic

will be a light week from me, 10k tomorrow (or 5 miles, depending on pace and pains) and maybe 5k on Friday then 7 mile race on Sunday (am pacing someone at 11:30 pace so should be nice)

ScienceRocks · 05/11/2014 19:55

Just done 2.4miles on the treadmill using the c25k plus stepping stone podcast. On iPad so will check back for the total...

ScienceRocks · 05/11/2014 19:56

...146.8miles is the new total!

Very impressed by all you halfers.

ThursdayLast · 05/11/2014 19:58

mitchy have a hug from me. And I don't call that a light week!

Mitchy1nge · 05/11/2014 20:34

thank you! I love hugs, best thing is you can't give one without getting one and all that Flowers

MirandaWest · 06/11/2014 07:04

Went running with DP last night and did 1.9 miles relatively quickly for me. Going to see if I can maintain that for 5k once I've taken the DC to school.

New total 148.7

Blatherskite · 06/11/2014 09:34

I forgot to add my 3.5! Total is 152.2

Yeowch the backs of my legs are sore after yoga yesterday though! A trampoline keep fit class will help right? :/

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 06/11/2014 09:50

I have 6.5 miles to add from this morning. It is absolutely glorious out in the depths of Berkshire today. Freezing cold, but lovely low winter sun with the mist coming off the river. Just fabulous. Smile

Enjoy your trampolining blathers!

158.7.

emummy · 06/11/2014 10:09

2.1 soggy miles this morning, off to get pampered in hairdressers now. For the record I have very short hair and it doesn't make me at all fast!

160.8

Enjoy trampolining Blathers, don't think what's left of my pelvic floor could cope with that!

Mitchy1nge · 06/11/2014 11:24

trampolining sounds fun!

6 holyFUCKitisCOLD miles - full winter mode now, ski tops under jacket, buff, gloves whimpering loudly etc but lovely and bright especially as have lost my running sunnies

am pacing friend for 7 mile race on Sunday so we tried 11:00 to see how she got on and she is feeling confident (first ever race for her), my calf seems ok with it too, phew

166.8

MirandaWest · 06/11/2014 11:55

Went running and was fine although got to just over 4k and decided I would stop while I was ahead Grin Was still going at a good pace for me of just under 9 min/mile so still hopeful for a sub 29 min 5k at some point (if I could have kept up this pace it would have been about 28 min which would have been excellent)

169.3

ScienceRocks · 06/11/2014 13:05

Miranda, I dream of aiming for a sub 29 minute 5k. At the moment, I hope for a sub 34 minute one!

My Garmin has arrived! It is from ebay so is just the watch and the charger, but I have managed to reset it to my stats using the online manual. Now I just have to work out how to use it when out on a run!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/11/2014 14:55

It was -3 when I went out this morning Mitchy1inge so I wore long sleeves Wink

Life has got in the way this week for evening runs and sick friend meant today is my first run this week and guess what only managed 3 intermittent miles as my big dog disappeared :( turned up after 40 mins searching in the next layby along from where we'd parked on a very busy road! A lovely man was feeding him his lunch trying to catch him. After finding my cat dead in the road having been hit by a car Tuesday and having a massive row with dh about my friends boys who I'm minding and How she's taking advantage of me Yestersay im about ready for this week to be over!!!!!!!

Blatherskite · 06/11/2014 15:31

Trampolining was fun. My pelvic floor wasn't very impressed though so I'm not sure I'll be forking out £70 for the 6 week course! Shock

Back to Yoga tomorrow. Then parkrun tourism and a few laps of a lake supporting the wife through her first marathon. I am supposed to be doing a long run on Sunday too - assuming I can even walk by then!

LaughingM · 06/11/2014 16:38

Yikes cinnamon that sounds like the week from hell! Sorry to hear about your cat Sad. Glad you found big dog - that must have been terrifying for a while! Fingers crossed you have a nicer weekend.

It's cold out there isn't it?! Although I did think this morning was a beautiful one for running in (not that I did, mind you). Must go out later though... posting here to commit myself.

r.e. winter clothes, what order do you add layers? Am currently running in long sleeved top and full length capris. I have a (thinnish) body warmer and a (frankly useless) rain jacket. I think next layer to go on might be vest under long sleeved top, then possibly gloves then body warmer??

Mooogles · 06/11/2014 17:34

Managed 5 miles on the treadmill today. Was supposed to go ou last nght but husband decided to go to the pub after work and didn't get back til 9 by which time I couldn't be bothered to run.. had a glass of wine instead!

That yoga looks great - I want to give that a go..

cinnamongreyhound · 06/11/2014 17:39

Even in coldest winter all I wear is a light jacket on top of my long sleeve top and full length leggings so I'm probably not the best person for advice LaughingM!

Oh no almost out of thread! Is Sirzy around to start a new one or shall I?

Mitchy1nge · 06/11/2014 17:42

cinnamon cuddle :( horrible week for you

if is road am thinking of, long and undulating and leads from B to T, I rolled a pink Avenger there once many many years ago (or the other way, from B to E)

have had many dodgy experiences in that forest

for layers it goes: crop top, vest, long sleeved merino, brighter t-shirt (to poke out under jacket or to make a V at the front in unlikely event of unzipping jacket), wind/water proof/reflective jacket, buff (try to cover neck and ears, look a twat), winter running tights (coldgear) with long socks under, extra socks, running shoes

wtf am I going to do when it is even colder

Mitchy1nge · 06/11/2014 17:44

and gloves, am pleased with new orange ron hill gloves
